  • The property owner of Evergreen’s Spring Creek Mobile Home Park is speaking out following a report of residents facing a mass eviction later this year.
NBC Montana covered the unexpected 180-day eviction notices, which tenants received a few weeks ago. The notices came months after new property owner Brett Kelly told the Flathead Beacon in January that his goal was to keep renting to residents.
Ending the current lease agreements and removing the trailers was the “only viable solution,” Kelly wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday night.
Kelly cited extensive repairs needed to the park's decades-old infrastructure, specifically the water system, as the reason for the evictions, in addition to the land’s location in a floodplain.

Most of those old trailers can't be moved and set back up. They settle over the years and just come apart when moved

Brett Kelly just made all of this up, he is a keyboard warrior who you will never meet in person unless it is in court. He already knew what the property was before he bought it. He is clear that he bought the property to develop it. His supposed goal of offering qualifying residents new homes and eventually the opportunity to buy the property basically means nothing - because he already knows that current residents will not be able to afford new homes. He is just another soulless money gruber who does not care if he ruins other people's lives in his quest for wealth. Like a drug dealer peddling poison that kills some customers and ruins 100% - as long as he gets his riches anything goes.

The usual path taken for the removal of this kind of affordable housing. This happens all over the country. New owner has big plans. It belongs to him, so he can do what he wants. That's why I don't like the "land rental" situation in most mobile home parks. These people probably don't have the means to move these homes out even if they did have somewhere to go. Old mobile homes don't move so well. Best of luck to these folks.

Rent like in most places has gone way up in the last few years. The new owner probably wants to get ride of the old trailers. Have new ones brought in a rent them for twice if not more then what these people been paying. He wants to put in new plumbing and other things. So rather then someone living in a trailor and paying 200 a month. He then because of new remodeling will be charging 800 or more dollars a month. Glathead sre is very expensive. The homes vost over 500,000 and up. It has the lake that people can bring their boat too. All kinds of expensive places to eat. If he brings in double wide trailors he can then ask twice as much for rent. He did not buy the property to not think he could make allot of money. I drove truck to Flathead for years. He foes not know these people personally. He does not care if they end up homeless or anything else. He just does not want negative publicity on the news about him. It is foubtful people on disability could afford a new rent hike if it was just 50 dollars a month more. Never mind hundreds of dollars more. They will not even be able to pay to move the trailors by truck. And where two. And then more money to put it on another piece of land. Most if not sll will not even be able to afford to get a another place to live because of the high cost. Even if they just leave. First and last month rent forget it. I feel bad for those people because I could have been one of them. Anyone could have been.

Removing these trashy trailers will make the area better. If he owns the land, he can close the park and evict. Not sure why or even if he is lying. But these trashy mobile home parks are terrible for a city. In most states, the pay about three bucks a month in school taxes while a REAL homeowner might pay a few hundred.

Because all those black people got free money because of those pipes in Flint michigan, and now plumbers are going to get a fortune to replace all the pipes because the government's going to pay for it called infrastructure repair. Even if the pipes there's not a damn thing wrong with them they want to get paid to rip up the ground to put new pipes in. After they put the new pipes in why do all the trailers have to be gone? Probably because they're going to install houses there owned by corporations. It's all about the money. If it's a flood zone why would you replace and repair the pipes because if you can't put a trailer there why would you want to put a house there. Sounds kind of fishy to me sounds like he wants to get newer and nicer trailers back in there and jack up the rates.
