Not rushing the clutch out when you over rev it is so true, I’m so used to regular down shifting when I try and heel toe I give it a tad bit too much gas 😅 always a little spooky
Stuff like that happens to everybody with any technique 😂 like for me, I have zero experience with left foot braking so any time I’ve attempted it I snap my neck over -braking lol
"Forget the name..." is right. I've been driving manuals for thirty years. Recently picked up a '48 Chevy truck and it's the first pedal box I've ever come accross where the heel actually comes into play.
I find it weird cuz most tutorials show the feet position like this, but In my car, I’m quite literally using my heel and toe due to the distance of the pedals
Yep, at the end of the day it is VERY car dependent. Pedal spacing is different from car to car. If they're close together this works well and if they're far apart you need to literally "heel+toe".
That’s a really odd perspective lol. Have you driven many manual cars? There are HUGE differences in pedal spacing and shape from car to car, making a blanket approach to this technique not only silly, but in some cars, physically impossible. Not to mention unless you’re threshold braking on a track you’re probably not deep enough into the brake pedal to even TRY to use your heel.

Right there with you, I’ve never really driven anything where the pedal spacing required it.

Good video.
Thanks!
Stop saying %99 use front side toes it's called HEEL TOE DOWNSHIFT FOR A REASON NOT SIDE TOE DOWNSHIFTING
