She was a superlative dramatic coloratura. I saw her Norma at the Lyric in Chicago and she was stunning, both vocally and as an actress. She had the ability of knowing how to act through her voice and how to use stillness with small hand or head movements to emphasize the music rather than trying to make large physical movement in place of such subtle acting.,

She sings this even better than Sutherland! A dramatic coloratura for sure..

Remember this is not for a leggero coloratura type of voice (canarybird) but for a heavier voice with agility.
Sutherland was a big canarybird despite what all her desperate fans say.

@@draganvidic2039I think that Joan’s natural voice is closer to this; but she and Bonynge turned her into a canary by virtually eliminating her chest voice. The recording of Euryanthe from 1955 is a great example of her original voice.
I love her and this is exciting but she should really do her regular technique. She sounds a bit sluggish in the coloratura passages and I imagine that's because she is singing most of them conventionally.
