I'm Indian-American I absolutely admire Mexico and loved learning Mesoamerican history. From the Tikal-Calakmul wars, to the rise of the Nahua kingdoms in Nicaragua and El Salvador, it's such a rich and fascinating history. They gave the world tomatoes, avocados, vanilla, maize, jalapenos, tortillas, tamales, guacamole sauce, and chocolate. Much love to the Mesoamerican nations 🇮🇳❤🇲🇽🇬🇹🇳🇮🇭🇳🇸🇻

One of my greatest life experiences was taking a bus from DF to Bacalar. The Yucatan is like no other place on this planet. ❤

Such Beauty overshadowed by Spanish pain brought to the native people. So much taken and destroyed. A brilliant civilization.

this one make me sad. almost all of the indigenous population was killed by the spanish church when we were conquered. and yet there are these churches :( and not much about the real people of yucatan, I mean the real real people. those information were buried by the church. mexicans suffered a mass genocide by the spanish church and no one remember. no gov public school teach the lenguage of the mayans anymore.

No most indigenous people did not get killed by the church. They died of the smallpox and other diseases Spanish brought. Most survivors intermarried with Spaniards. Thanks to Mexicos mountainous terrain, some isolated indigenous people were able to persist until today. What the church killed was many of the native customs and traditions

Why no bat-emergences. I suppose there exist no more Mexican free-tailed bats. Thanks for uploading though; very nice and relaxing and interesting.

It was a shame when the Yucatan was colonized because the Mayans knew more about the God of Israel than the settlers who went there (in all their "superiority").
The Mayan calendar is far more aligned to the word of God than "modern man" realizes...yet we depict them as heathen? SCOFF. I hope there are some keeping their beliefs and traditions alive. It would be a shame to throw away that ancient knowledge.
5125 years IS significant. There were 5040 years from Abraham to Jesus (14x3 generations) according to the gospel of John, yet you would throw away that knowledge to build "cathedrals"? This is why Jesus said: "You can forecast the weather but not the times".

The Mayans kept track of time via a calendar of 144,000 days. And Revelation talks about 144,000 saints. Yet you dismiss that information?
(I will take ONE from a city and TWO from a family and bring them to Zion.)
It is no wonder Jesus also said "the road is narrow and few will find it".
We have allowed the world's spirit, the media, to blind our eyes.
