Yes, use some canned air to blow the debris away from the joystick. Take the battery and battery cover off so there is an area for the air to flow out of the controller. You could also try electronic lubricant that you would spray (very lightly) into the joystick. You can buy it at RadioShack.
@XxXAC3XxX1 It might be your plug. Check out my headphone videos on my channel or search for them on UA-cam. My 3rd video: "#3 Fix or Repair Headphones with Microphone / Bass Boost" at the 1:00 time point, I explain how to determine which type of plug you need. In my first headphone video: "#1 How to Repair or Fix Headphones (Headphone Jack) " I provide detailed instructions on how to connect the plug to the wire. Any more questions let me know! Thanks for watching.
@Voivrenetwork Similar to how I connect the Xbox headset to the Headphone. Just the plastic zip ties to tie the Xbox headset to the headband. Just make sure the Headset is at proper height for your ear, and that you place headset closest to your ear and have the headband tied to the outside (that way it doesn't get in your way). This again is similar to what I show in this video. If you need more clarification let me know. Thanks for watching!
You may want to glue the headphone onto the headband (instead of using the plastic ties I did). Hot glue might work. Or you could super glue a stick of some sort onto the headphone, then tie that piece onto the headband like I showed in the vid. That sucks though that it broke there of all places.
Some headsets/mics get interference from certain other xbox accessories. For example: charge and play kits (when charging) create a electromagnetic field that interferes with the mic, creating a loud buzzing noise to others. Certain controllers (such as wired AfterGlow's) can cause smaller interference that sounds similar to low-buzzing Morse code or "fart" noises when the lights/rumble of the controller are activated. Found this out with mine, and my boyfriends, turtlebeach headsets.
Hey man im having trouble with my left joystick on my xbox360 controller it sticks in one place when i move it a certain place its annoying is there a way i can fix that with out taking the controller apart?
I never would have thought to use a zip-tie. Good call.
omg thank you so much, i cant believe i didn't think of this before :D
It'll be tricky, but it should work as long as you tighten the plastic zip ties really tight.

You may have a short. I haven't repaired the wiring in these yet though but I am sure they are similar to regular headphones.

@SignMyLongShot I like that idea!
If you dont cut the wire to the cord for the headphones just plug ur phone up and play music
What about the headband idea, how would you properly put that together?
You are welcomed! Thanks for watching.
thnxx u actually helped me a lot thnx
I'll look into it.
Cool. Good idea
Hmm is it possible for you to create a tutorial repairing the plug-part of a xbox headset? Or is there one similar enough to use?
I'll try to figure it out. I'll let you know if I find anything.
No not yet. But I may do a video on it soon. Sorry about that.
@MajorGr00ve Thanks man!
Deimos try going to your settings and playing voice through speakers on your tv
@NormanCraft duct tape is a great temporary solution, but doesn't last that long. You'll end up with adhesive all over everything, too.
@PsychoSk8rLightning You could but it'll break again soon after or it won't be as stable.
Haha......when you were in the car you looked like the guy from the statefarm commercial......."like a good neighbor richsmethods are there!"......lol
@TTechnoGT My bad. Thanks for watching though!
