I have been working for 13 years. 26 now. When I was 13, my grandpa and dad both told me a strong hand shake (especially as a woman) leaves a good impression. I have been following that ever since
I love my self tanner. I avoid the sun now that I’m older and spent way too much time in the sun when I was young. Having a tan, even if it’s fake, makes a huge difference in how you feel. And most of them out there now are really good. I have a friend who has used them for 30 years and she’s healthy as a horse, so I wouldn’t worry about the toxins.
I agree !! Self tanners are a life saver for me. I use them mostly on my legs and my legs look soooo much better. I don’t ever use on my face and neck or even really my upper body as it’s easy to get sun on my face and arms. But my legs stay white and self tanner is huge for me. I wouldn’t want to live without it !!!
I completely agree! Self tanner or a spray tan improves my confidence exponentially and, in my opinion, doing whatever makes you feel confident is the actual #1 way to look more attractive. Being from the Midwest, I don't always have the luxury of seeing the natural sun every day. I would rather have a dark patch of over-developed tanning product on my foot or knee than feel insecure about my skin being so pale it feels see-through.
I agree with the handshake 100%! I automatically can be judgmental if it’s a limp fish. I love eye contact and a firm handshake. Really does show respect and confidence.
This was a great video and I appreciate your honesty. I was an advocate of a firm handshake until I got arthritis in my hands and now I dread a firm handshake because it is so painful.
If Vagamor is to high a price point try Amla oil and powder. It’s an Indian gooseberry. East Indian woman have been using this for centuries on their hair. No overly oily. It has helped my hairline. I also put it on my eyebrows. Available on Amazon. I take the powder in water originally for an alternative to estrogen blockers after breast cancer. But also think it’s helped my hair.
You might want to add the dangers of eyelash extensions. I had a horrible allergic reaction to them and have been so uncomfortable and sick for two weeks now. They also got infected, most likeky from the adhesive used. All my own lashes are gone now, im just hoping they grow back. Thats my experience with that and now im very on the fence with botox or any other cosmetic procedures.
My eyelashes were almost gone and I tried Babe brow serum. Within 2 weeks I had full brows again!! I have just started with the Babe lash serum and it is already noticeably different. Maybe you could give it a try for your lashes
I recently ordered the kit by Glamoury with the at home microneedling & serum (it's being advertised all over UA-cam) ...I LOVE it!! I do feel like I'm seeing a difference, however, taking care of my skin is a priority bc I've never tried injectables. That company has sales constantly so it might be worth a try for you!
AMEN to the sun thing! I am doing the same thing. A little bit of sunshine on the skin is crucial when it comes to better health, vitamin D production. People are always talking about the sun as if it was the devil, which is really starting to annoy me. Obviously don't get burned, but we all need to expose ourselves to some natural light daily. Plus self tanners are so full of chemicals like you said.
Is not the sun per se… is the UV lights that come from the sun, which are being PROVEN over and over again to cause cancer. Whats recomended is to catch the sun in the morning or the evening, when UV rays are not so strong. In the midday afternoon they are are their full glare.
What a good point about attractiveness being lessened by negativity. We can't always be a ray of sunshine, but perhaps if we remind ourselves that we are less BEAUTIFUL when we're complaining or being snide, it will help us remain positive and happy!
you are amazing thank you to saying all the right things you are 100 absolutely agree i went to the party and i am going to be 70 yrs old i have facial every month and use varmont all the products she saw my wrinkle on my face i am old and proud i do not need botox she told me to get botox i do not even eat asprin i eat 100percent organic no smoking and no drinking no soda thank you for this wonderful message 😀😀😀😀🥰
I don’t tan in the sun I could spend 15 min and get no color so I use self tanner. I don’t love it but it’s stopped me from using a tanning bed. i feel like ppl judge you no matter what. If your to pale they have something to say it’s a sad world out there at times.
Shea really appreciate you talk about smoking and vaping. One more thing please do some research about fake gel/acrylic nails and the light you put your hands in after how bad it is for your health more and more studies are coming out.
I agree with most of what you said, Shea. But some of us weren't lucky enough to be able to tan in just 15min per day. I'm a natural ginger with freckly skin, so I do use self-tanner to have a little bit of color during the summer. It makes me feel more confident during warmer weather and when we're on vacation. 😀
I started using Vegamour probably 2 years ago on your recommendation and cannot go back!! I had major thinning and my part was widening and the difference is like night and day. My hairdresser even noticed how much healthier my hair has been. It's an investment but can't recommend enough!
Yes on all counts! And thank you for being honest about the lip plumping injections... we have so many 20somethings who look like they're 40 trying to look 30 😥
Re: Vaping, I did a First Aid course last week and the instructor was talking about the studies on the toxicity of the chemicals in vapes and the increase in cases of popcorn lung and early emphysema etc. She then went on to talk about importance of people who vape not going near babies without changing their clothes and washing their hands, brushing their teeth and still having to not breathe on babies. I think there may have been someone in the front row that gave her one of those looks that said “I call BS” Because she changed her tone and appeared to be looking at one particular person and she said “I’ll tell you how poisonous that stuff is, if you were dumb enough to crack your vape open and drink the contents you would be dead within hours and there isn’t a single thing that anyone could do to save you” 😮 I’m not a smoker and I have never even considered vaping. When they first came out I didn’t think they would take off because I thought everyone would be asking themselves what I was, how on earth can inhaling chemicals be better than cigarettes which are only partially chemical and they are reeking havoc? If you vape I strongly urge you to give it up asap
So I get fillers and I don’t look unnatural. I’m 63 and feel great. However, please don’t start too early because you will be hooked. Thank you. I love your channel. Shea, you’re so young but when you get much older, I would love to hear your opinion then. ❤
Agree with all except the sun. If your skin changes color it is damaged and speeds aging. Pale can be lovely just make sure it’s healthy. But the other tips are spot on!
Having the sun everyday is the best thing you can do for your health. I feel we have been so lied to over the years and most of us are slowly waking up everyday.
Maureen said if your skin changes color in the sun, it is being damaged, not that a few minutes is the end of the world. Your skin tans because it is trying to protect you from more damage. As a pale person I can tell a difference in my skin if I go too long without sunscreen. Also, it depends on where you live. 15 mins in Michigan is way different than 15 mins in Puerto Rico.
I myself hate the hot sun. I love the cool winter weather and the cooler part of Spring. But winter is my favorite. I am albino white which means my skin tone is almost as white as snow. Plus I burn real easy, even with sun block. I embrace my skin color just as much as I embrace my natural blonde hair which is now turning Silver at age 64.🤗 I stand 5' 2" tall & I weigh 82 pounds. Sometimes people have literally asked me if I'm feeling ok, that I look extremely pale, But thats just my natural skin color. I avoid going out side basically for safety reason's, but also to avoid the hot sun & its bright blinding glare, I just live my life in a way thats best for me.❤ If scientists love the sun, They can have it. Its not for me
My dermatologist suggested Botox for my frown lines when I was 48. Sooooo glad! I’m 68 now. NO 11 lines. No set in crows free. No adverse effects EVER. As for the self tanner. If you weren’t a dark brunette you’d change your tune! Also, who in the hell has the TIME to lay out every day for a few minutes? Some of us have an actual 40 hour per week Monday through Friday job.
hey all. just wanted to say, if u like cosmetic work like fillers, botox, surgeries, you're perfectly valid. everyone has their own opinions. ik shea wasn't bashing anyone for liking these things, but i wanted to add some clarification. everyone is gorgeous in their own ways
I think it's more about the health aspect rather than the aesthetic. She knows some of the side effects and she's gone through so much dental pain that she doesn't want to see someone end up with side effects.
Yes UNTIL they reach the point where they can’t stop and they don’t even look human anymore. It must become addictive? When I look at celebrities and they are no longer recognisable I also wonder why they don’t have people in their lives telling them they should stop. I am seriously considering Botox/filler in my elevens to try and combat my permanent resting bi$#ch face but I do worry about getting addicted to having a little tweak here and there.
It wasn't that long ago you said you used Isle of Paradise tanning lotion. Vegan. You also said you added a few drops to you face lotion daily. So why are you saying you don't now? Im using that product because of how highly you talked about it. So what is it you do?
And Beauty by Earth self tanner, which was recommended in May of this year. “Natural” or not, they all contain DHA. Is that the “chemical” we’re supposed to be scared of? I’ll continue enjoying my sunscreen and staying out of the sun while taking a vitamin D supplement. The sun’s rays may be natural but they’re also ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION THAT ALTER DNA and are the NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF PREMATURE AGING and wrinkling. Enough with this pseudoscience.
Westmore beauty has a couple of tanning products, they are not self tanners, they are like a fountain, hides my skin imperfections, I get compliments on my tan every time I use the products. Can be easily applied, comes off with soap and water.
It’s easy for Shea to cover her few white hairs every “few months”, but for those of us whose many more white hairs show up after two weeks or less, it’s a lot different, with dying it every 3-4 weeks. But I do agree that young colored hair will give the illusion of looking younger. I also think when you are as young as Shea, it’s kind of a bummer when you are prematurely gray. That said, some of us viewers are older and have embraced our age
The Madison Reed color bars save me I’m committed to coloring my grays. they have a great product that is non-irritating and it’s an easy in out color maintenance program
I agree with everything! Especially the gossiping and the vaping. I think being positive and saying nice things about people is the way to go. Vaping is actually worse than smoking and coats your esophagus with chemical oils causing worse off results and cancer. Loved your video!
My hair is turning white, but I get low lights about every 8 weeks (natural blonde). I love the lowlights and the white is just another color in the mix. I’ve also used Ageless lash serum - it works, but I got tired of using it. I could see that my lashes were longer though!
I quit coloring my hair over five years ago. And I’m still not gray. I’m looking forward to having gray hair. Then I’m going to put semi permanent pink in my hair. I keep telling my husband that. He’s not to thrilled. But I will do it. I’m hoping I get the pretty white hair one of my aunts had. She probably had help with that hair color at first. She was my dad’s sister. And they all grayed really early. But I must be taking after my mom’s side. I quit smoking when my granddaughter was one. I had smoked for over twenty years. It wasn’t easy. But after I quit a few of my friends quit also. So I feel like I was a good example for them.
Yes to the sun. I am fair skinned and when I was younger, I always seemed to burn and could not stay out in the sun too long. These days, I try to spend at least an hour in the sun every day. For several years I have been going for a walk every afternoon. I don't burn anymore. I have a healthy golden color to my skin now in the summer and I love it. Daily sun makes me feel good. I don't wear sunscreen anymore either and haven't for years. It is full of chemicals and not good for you. Embrace the natural as much as possible.
I miss the sun so much. I grew up in Southern California always tan and happy but slowly got brainwashed into seeing the sun as an enemy. I'm sixty now and decided that I've paid my dues for the last thirty years of staying covered up. My skin is not bad and i'm allowing myself some sun lately and it feels so good. A little is good. Too much is not good.
I am confused- In this video you spoke about ditching self tanners. I just ordered Beauty by Earth that you have recommended &available on your Amazon store front.
Thank you Shea! Wei thought all of these ideas were fantastic especially vaping or smoking. I also think having tattoos all over your body takes away from your looks
Great suggestions Shea ❤I wear the nail color Big Apple Red 🍎by OPI and get lots of compliments. I am older yet single and yes for whatever reason men are attracted to red nails 💅
Oh my gosh! You are so right about the handshake. I’ve noticed that men sometimes shake a woman’s hand like a dead fish. Are they afraid to break my fingers???!! Ugh! What a turnoff!
I know a hair stylist that uses purple shampoo on her mostly grey hair to tone down the brassy color and it looks so gorgeous! I thought she was having it colored.
It would be a huge service to man (and especially women)kind for a person with Shea's large platform to FINALLY advocate the incredible effectiveness of FACIAL EXERCISES and Facial Massage. Cosmetic surgeons will never admit to their merit....or they are truly ignorant of the concept. YOU can plump your lips, lift your cheeks, erase jowls, tighten eyelid skin NATURALLY and for FREE or cheap. They should be as mainstream as the concept of body exercise....because FACIAL muscles respond to exercise in exactly the same manner as any other muscle group.
@@KM-vq4wg There are almost as many different protocols for Facial exercises as there are with any other form of fitness, so MY particular protocol is by NO MEANS the 'one and only'---that being said: what has (and continues) to work best for me are the routines/protocols from a tutorial site called Carolyn's Facial Fitness. I've been familiar with the concept of facial exercises since toddler hood, since my , Mom was a fitness guru and did them regularly. As an adult, I've found good moves here and there from difference sources, which has morphed into a personalized routine and the majority of them are from Carolyn's Facial Fitness. I'm NOT advertising this particular site; just hope Shea will research and share a video about how effective the practice as a whole truly is. There is far too much MIS-information about them, which is almost always perpetuated by the cosmetics industry.
Still love you Shea! I enjoy the flaw-fixing videos. There’s always something enlightening in them. I’ve always thought that “lipstick changes everything.” (My personal mantra.) If I’m leaving the house I must have on lipstick. And I refuse to have gray hair. Thanks for being brutally honest. 🙂
I really enjoyed this I for sure need to look into the products for gray hair I'm 40 I will be 41 in December me and my sister are 10 Year's apart we get that we look like twins so I still want to keep up with things to look younger seeing this makes me feel like it doesn't take much to do that which I love
Great video Shea! I agree with all of them - especially they gray hair - I think it makes women look a lot older than they really are - as well, the vaping - it's just as bad as cigarettes. Thanks Shea 🙂💕
Needlerolling does a good job, even without product. I have longer needles (1 millimeter) and it is being said, that less is more, and it's best to do it once a week, beause the micro injuries have to heal properly. For me it has really been the turnaround. After doing so about 9 months, my hairline is better and my hair is fuller. Hair loss has stopped to be a problem for me. All the thoughts about what if it's getting worse etc., all that has stopped.
I think how you show yourself to the world is your own business. Definitely there are things you can do that are natural to help prevent the signs of aging. I am not a sun worshiper and I will go out in the sun for short amounts of time, particularly to do my gardening. I turned 70 years old last November. The picture I use on UA-cam is current and I have no fillers and no filters. Eat well. That means stop all the processed foods stop all of the processed drinks, soda etc. Eat foods in their natural state as much as possible, if you want to benefit the most from the vitamins and minerals. It will show on your skin. Drink your water. Yes everyone says it but keep true to drinking your water! It will definitely improve your skin. I agree with you Shea on the lip gloss or even a slight lip color. My mom always wore lipstick and I take after her. I have nice lips and nice teeth (I have paid a ton of money in dental health). Wearing a little bit of lip color brightens my face. I am fortunate to have very few gray hairs but I do get blonde highlights. Mom died at 97.5 years old and she was not 100% gray! One of the best things you can do for your looks is to smile often and carry yourself well straighten up your posture work on it. It does not come naturally but when you walk with good posture you're showing your best to the world..

I agree with the handshake 100%! I automatically can be judgmental if it’s a limp fish. I love eye contact and a firm handshake. Really does show respect and confidence.
Yes!!! Totally agree
Damn straight
Yep
And it’s even worse when not only is it like shaking a limp fish but that limp fish is also clammy 🤢
I think men are trying to not hurt you, but yuck.
I personally don’t like the look of fillers
It’s awful.
Agreed, looks so plastic.
Agreed.
Some cheek, jawline, undereye or chin filler can improve the appearance it's mainly lips that are very noticeably fake
Who cares ? Lol
Look into castor oil on your lash line to help them grow. It's supposed to work really well. I have a friend that swears by it.
Yes! We. Need the Sun! For our mental health and physical health!!! I do 30 mins per day!
Thanks for adding some comments on character and how it affects beauty. So many of us don't realize that a smile is the best thing we can put on.
I have very light blond eyebrows, so I use some Just For Men and dye them so I don't have to fill them in every day. Just brush and go.
The odd " don't do/ should be doing/ wearing videos I love 😂❤.. It's cute how some actually listen. Follow. Keep them coming I'm here for life
Thank you for being honest and not just saying or selling what people want!!!
Thank you for watching my video!!:)
Yes to sunshine. I love getting out and sunbathing at age 60 …still. I use no sunscreen. Love my D☀️
Is not the sun per se… is the UV lights that come from the sun, which are being PROVEN over and over again to cause cancer. Whats recomended is to catch the sun in the morning or the evening, when UV rays are not so strong. In the midday afternoon they are are their full glare.
Great video, especially for healthy choices. Make this the norm!!!
What a good point about attractiveness being lessened by negativity. We can't always be a ray of sunshine, but perhaps if we remind ourselves that we are less BEAUTIFUL when we're complaining or being snide, it will help us remain positive and happy!
I like your honesty. Usually people get offended when it's the truth and they know it.
you are amazing thank you to saying all the right things you are 100 absolutely agree i went to the party and i am going to be 70 yrs old i have facial every month and use varmont all the products she saw my wrinkle on my face i am old and proud i do not need botox she told me to get botox i do not even eat asprin i eat 100percent organic no smoking and no drinking no soda thank you for this wonderful message 😀😀😀😀🥰
Really great video, Shea, and a dose of honestly is what we need sometimes. 👍💕
And don’t forget to smile!!! That helps
My hair is a pretty white, my skin is lite and I have blue eyes. Im blessed 😂
I think there may have been someone in the front row that gave her one of those looks that said “I call BS” Because she changed her tone and appeared to be looking at one particular person and she said “I’ll tell you how poisonous that stuff is, if you were dumb enough to crack your vape open and drink the contents you would be dead within hours and there isn’t a single thing that anyone could do to save you” 😮
I’m not a smoker and I have never even considered vaping. When they first came out I didn’t think they would take off because I thought everyone would be asking themselves what I was, how on earth can inhaling chemicals be better than cigarettes which are only partially chemical and they are reeking havoc?
If you vape I strongly urge you to give it up asap
Yes it's awful. Your lungs are like a sponge and absorb all those poisons. Don't mess with the lungs!
Some guy just opened a Vape place in our town last week. What a terrible habit!!!
So I get fillers and I don’t look unnatural. I’m 63 and feel great. However, please don’t start too early because you will be hooked. Thank you. I love your channel. Shea, you’re so young but when you get much older, I would love to hear your opinion then. ❤
I’m 60. I won’t be getting fillers or Botox or anything. I’m good!
Agree with all except the sun. If your skin changes color it is damaged and speeds aging. Pale can be lovely just make sure it’s healthy. But the other tips are spot on!
15 min. a day isn't bad
I embrace my skin color just as much as I embrace my natural blonde hair which is now turning Silver at age 64.🤗
I stand 5' 2" tall & I weigh 82 pounds.
Sometimes people have literally asked me if I'm feeling ok, that I look extremely pale,
But thats just my natural skin color.
I avoid going out side basically for safety reason's, but also to avoid the hot sun & its bright blinding glare,
I just live my life in a way thats best for me.❤
If scientists love the sun,
They can have it.
Shea is just spitting facts!!!!
I agree on each item. Thank you for saying it out loud!❤
It wasn't that long ago you said you used Isle of Paradise tanning lotion. Vegan. You also said you added a few drops to you face lotion daily. So why are you saying you don't now? Im using that product because of how highly you talked about it. So what is it you do?
I was going to say the same!
I remember!
The BEST lip plumper is cheap and its from LA Girl!! Get it and youll see. I think Five and Below may have it 👍👍
Westmore beauty has a couple of tanning products, they are not self tanners, they are like a fountain, hides my skin imperfections, I get compliments on my tan every time I use the products.
Shea .. this is a great video. Thank you for all of your ideas although I'm sticking with my gray hair 😂😂
Haha - I totally understand!!!!!
Loved this vid, Shea! Thank you for your intelligence, honesty and perspective. Could not agree with you more. Appreciate this vid and you.
The Madison Reed color bars save me I’m committed to coloring my grays. they have a great product that is non-irritating and it’s an easy in out color maintenance program
I have embraced my gray ❤
I love you, Shea! 👏🏻😂 Everything you mention here is so true! Appreciate your speaking truth in love! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️off to get that hair serum!
I’m so glad you addressed the self-tanner! It just looks bad no matter what.
I LOVE these videos that she’s does. She’s the only one that does them too.
Thank you Shea!!!
Love your honesty and common-sense!!!❤
I agree 1000% with number 4!!
Thank you Shea! Wei thought all of these ideas were fantastic especially vaping or smoking. I also think having tattoos all over your body takes away from your looks
Thank you for what you said about lip filler and botox! I'm glad to see the pendulum swinging in that way. Let's stop putting things in our faces!!
I luv you Shea but yea, I'm not gonna stop doing those things. It's cool, to each his own! :)
Great suggestions Shea ❤I wear the nail color Big Apple Red 🍎by OPI and get lots of compliments. I am older yet single and yes for whatever reason men are attracted to red nails 💅
I feel like they also love red dresses and red lippes as well.
Oh my gosh! You are so right about the handshake. I’ve noticed that men sometimes shake a woman’s hand like a dead fish. Are they afraid to break my fingers???!! Ugh! What a turnoff!
I agree with your comments on the fillers. It’s so prevalent in my area, I’ve gotten to the point where I can easily spot them!
This is a super interesting comment!!!! Thank you so much for sharing! I need to look into this!!!
@@SheaWhitney PLEASE do, Shea. It is most worthwhile, and you have a large platform who will be open to what you have to share with them. :)
This sounds so intriguing!
Which protocol do you follow?
I agree with 200% of what you talked about, YESSS👏🏼👏🏼
I agree with the filler. I see so many people who ruin their face by trying to change it. It may be good at first but then it goes too far.
I love your honesty and agree with you. ❤
Can you do a video, or just post a link, to your makeup brushes? I have so many, and don't really know what's what, or what would be better!
Didn’t Shea recommend a self tanner last year... not judging just curious
Thank you for sharing great advice to look prettier ❤👍
I totally 100% agree with all of these
I really enjoyed this I for sure need to look into the products for gray hair I'm 40 I will be 41 in December me and my sister are 10 Year's apart we get that we look like twins so I still want to keep up with things to look younger seeing this makes me feel like it doesn't take much to do that which I love
Everything you said was so true! New subscriber here 🙋🏻♀️
Shea, I love your truths! Spot on! 👏
Great tips! Thank you!🥰
Love your energy and advice
Love your videos, but this is super-good one! Love your authenticity. We need more of this in the world:)
I love how you aren't afraid to tell the truth.
Awesome video as always! What type of spray with alcohol do you recommend for the derma roller before using Vegamour?
12 is spot on!
Great information. Thanks
You are so right!
Whats wrong with being natural❤
I am obsessed with City Beauty City Lips plumper and literally all of their products....you must try!!!! 💋💞
Do they burn your lips?
@@AngelaJones2433 Not at all like the ones with pepper and harsh chemicals. The company has a great website with videos about their ingredients. I going to be 50 and I'm always going to use their products!
@@AngelaJones2433 not at all. It’s a bit of a thick gloss, but it’s definitely worth trying out.
The Vegamour HYDR- 8 weight less repair oil the BEST hair oil I have ever tried
@@maryp5127 oh my gosh YESSS!!! I want to talk about that more sometimes! It really is sooo good!
Shea, what hair color brand do you use? Great ideas, might have to try the Vegamore Ageless Hair Serum.
I couldn't AGREE more with ALL this!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
