- Опубліковано 19 бер 2024
- Welcome to Assertive Acquisitions, the series where Capac, TheFinalEvent97 (or TFE if you're lazy like me) and I will be making every effort to acquire the unique ASSERT thrusters which can only be stolen from NPCs and using these to assemble a ship of our own.
Find Capac at / capacamaru
Find TFE at / thefinalevent97
I'm incredibly grateful for the help of the people behind the scenes, the 'Player NPCs' if you will. Without them I'd have to learn how to make a proper AI, and it still wouldn't be as good :)
I have two other channels that I post content to regularly
/ zebramonkeys - my cooperative channel with Capac
/ flipsie - my experimental and Twitch stream backup channel
A special thank you to all of my supporters, members and patrons, if you would like to join them and support me in making more videos become a member here / @splitsie or head to / splitsie

Capac is constantly one-upping me for most original death of the series :p
Yes he is
Can't wait to see what your next response in that competition will be. :D
While not the most original, your death at 21:50 definitely makes up for it with the comedic effect of body disappearing into a hole between the deformed armor blocks. :P Respawning at the same location and getting killed again by both the enemy AND Splitsie was a cherry on top.
I dunno, I'm still kind of partial to the airlock canon deaths that you invented. Seeing Tiffany swan diving at high velocity into a bulkhead may be slapstick humor but it always makes me snicker.
Capac and his love of cheese made him turn himself into swiss cheese ;P
Given all the possible angles Capac's death just proves he has a sadistic guardian angel that's always giving him a push in front of the oncoming truck for giggles.
Some days I feel like I'm that sadistic guardian angel, other days maybe like I'm just being guided by them :D
Capac is going to get isekai'd one day
@@pedropimenta896_I Got Isekai'd to Another World and Decided to Mess With the Gods_
@@MMuraseofSandvich HA HAH HA oh my gosh yah. Could totally see it. Turns out he just got isekaied to space engineers as an engineer. I can hear the NOOOOOOO from here. lol.
Splitsie - "Capac, stop getting shot in the face!"
Capac - "No!"
Capac, Capac quite contrary how does your fighters explode.
With a little Clang and several bangs and lots of moans and groans...
lol
Capac shooting himself to death with his own remote controlled ship..... that was just gold.
A truly special moment :D
43:55 "He almost got it too, if only he had a better grinder". And you know... a welder. Need a welder to hack something 🤣
Yeah that too might have been helpful :D
As soon as I heard "ejector seat", I thought "is he going to smash himself into something while ejecting?". In the end, Capac outdid himself yet again with the remote suicide... His explanation of that was gold!
I like the fact the rumble has fail safe.
Splitsie does safe
Capac does fail 😅
lol :D
The Rumble: Instead of letting Capac control the remote control. Set it up with an event controller to automatically fly home if the cockpit is missing. It doesn't need to dock. It just needs to get in the tunnel and under the protection of the base.
Alternatively add the materials for a helm in the list of resupplies. The conveyor itself would be an option. Or replace the conveyoring partially with small cargo containers.
"How did you like backup feature #1..." "I suppose it made it more recoverable..." On the other hand, it also killed Capac!
I see that as a double bonus! :D
Me : I've heard of 'shooting yourself in the foot' as a saying...
Capac : Hold my beer
lol :D
Capac:ism of the day
Ohh, i know. It's like an Oban Tide but it's got a rope wrapped around it.. Cause it's a Cord Oba
Bonus Capac:ism: "Who lets their prisoners have grinders? Doesn't seem like a good plan."
Flying into someone else's line of fire is a pretty normal thing to happen. Flying into your own takes a lot of skill. :D
Even better - guiding your own line of fire unto yourself.
I ran over my own hand with a bicycle when I was a kid, so I know how likely this scenario can be.
Actually happened IRL a few times to aircraft with guns.
TFE and Capac were very funny. especially Capac fighting with a self-destructing cabin.
Had to chuckle at 'Capac Resistant Building', after watching the latest RV's at war it's obvious Splitsie has problem building Splitsie resistant devices. :D
🤣😂🤣😂 "Splitsie has control of Capac ship" Capac: oh wait! What happened now it just started spinning! 🤣😂🤣 Splitsie: Yeah, I know I have control of it. 😆 "snicker"
One of the MANY funniest things I have seen yet in this series. 🤣😂
Keep it up guys! So good! 👍😁
I am just waiting for Capac to one time say 'Let's get ready to Rummmmbbbblllleeeeeee!'
I wonder if he's specifically avoiding it at this point? :D
At this point we should all agree that Capac is despised by Klang and has cursed any cockpit that he gets into. 🤣😂👍
lol That's probably also true, regardless of the true cause of the cockpit destruction :D
46:00 I am inclined to believe that Capac's 2 gatlings at the top are too far back.
He was moving at max speed and tilting slightly up, so maybe some boooolets spawned inside of the cockpit and took it out.
This, he's done it a couple of times now.
What are the chances that the projectiles actually spawn at the base of the barrel, where it meets the gun block, rather than at the end of the barrel? Capac tends to roll into a climb toward the enemy like a fighter plane. That would have the bullets tapping the cockpit roof as he fires.
In fact, if you watch him @45:20 or so, he is firing for quite some time and you never see any tracers from his guns in his direction of turn. Maybe you need to mount those gats absolutely forwardmost, even if it increases risk of destruction. It could just be graphical too.
The orbit ing Capac was pretty hilarious!
It's not that Eeyore wasn't excited about his new ship, it's that he knows its destined for a short and painful existence and he doesn't want to get too attached...
Capac had too much taco bell before his flight kept blowing out that cockpit
I always have multiple Autocrafting LCDs (Autocrafting 1, Autocrafting 2, Autocrafting 3, etc.), then ISY's just spreads the whole shebang across them, first screen starts at A and then spills over to the next screen, so on, until it completes the alphabet. Depending on text size and if you have a lot of mod items, you might want up to 6 screens. For base game, I find 3-4 works well (again, depends on font size, which if you change font size on screen 1, it will change on all the screens, just takes a second or two to update).
Yeah, I use 4 wide screens, 2 for autocrafting, one for ingots and one for ores. Seems to work ok
I should give that a go, see if it fixes the odd truncating that was going on
In the clip of TFE looking for the izy's/autocrafting stuff he had found another lcd with autocrafting on it. So the script was running as if that first one was "autocrafting 1" and the one you put in the hallway as "autocrafting 2" even tho you didn't specifically label them as that. I believe there is a button to show block on hud that should make that block broadcast a signal so you can grind it down, which should also fix the truncating problem. @@Splitsie
12:22 What is happening is that you have two screens labelled "Autocrafting" and Isy's is smart enough to use both of them, using the second to overflow any information that doesn't fit on the first.
22:51 That made my day, hahah, splits thanks for stoppting it there and pointing that out, LOL
Every time i find a new AA episode and realize it has about 50 min i get happy and a lot of guilt because i just can't wait to see what is going on in this alternate universe. I only take one moment to write a little post thanking the series of my favorite superheroes.
An idea for defending the asteroid: small drones that only attack players. If you had 4 small drones at each end of the asteroid that auto launch when players are detected it should be enough to keep them busy so you can deal with them. You could have a printer at each end with multiple projectors that sends each one to a specific connector when built so it's easier to replace them when they get destroyed. As an added bonus give them a warhead that turns the drone into a missile when it runs out of ammo.
Absolute Action Atrocity, best episode in this series. The asteroid base has got so much going on and in it, when do you just encase it and make it the 'Mother' of all ships. Thanks fellas.
Although a little late.... With Isy's Inventory Script, you can have the autocrafting default to add "A" (Assemble only)... so that you can change anything you don't want afterwards.
Been great to watch the whole series!
I had similar issue than the one Capac is facing with his cockpit. For some reason one of my guns was shooting time to time pretty much at 90° of normal angle and planted some ammunition into my hull. I thought it was a mod gun but apparently it happens with vanilla ones too. Sad news is I never found a way to stop that. I moved the gun as much as I could and it didn't saved my crippled ship from getting shot by herself and had to recycle her for parts...
Some ideas for improvements:
• place armored glass in front of capac's cockpit to act as shield from fire but allow first person
• put welders in the hangar bays, manual or timed. You spend a lot of time maneuvering fighters in the ship.
• shield your thrusters such that they are vulnerable to fire from as small an arc as possible. Losing thrusters seems to be a common problem and they seem to protrude from the body a lot. Maybe use fewer of them so that you present a smaller target. Maybe don't use assert thrusters at all. Their scarcity seems create more problems from their use than they solve.
• maybe try a medium sized ship that is partially heavily armored with a few welders behind the plating in strategic locations, and arm with turrets such that you have multiple turrets pointing in any direction.
I believe they are purposely avoiding turrets on the fighters to make dogfights more interesting. So far only TFE has used them on fighters...
42:25 a plushie, was that BlackShadow you MONSTER! :p
She's still trying to get that last skull.
@@adamjenkins7653 Yeah, that was one of the saddest parts about the terraformer save corruption issues they had. The sheer joy BlackShadow would have had from getting that last skull would have been fun to see. Was looking forward to it.
I’m glad to see Capac back
Very cool episode! Thanks!
Great show as always guys!
I wonder what the trade station would pay if the prisoner cells still had prisoners in them? In any case, with the prisoners dead, a strong example has been made to the other plushie counterfeiters.
Eagerly awaiting your next tutorial episode. Picked up the game on sale over the last few days and have been having a blast!
I'll hopefully have time this coming week, been busy doing things for my son's first birthday this past week and getting over various daycare illnesses the week before so got a little behind where I wanted to be. Fingers crossed for a good catch up :)
Just a thought... Build a heavy block wall in front of Capac's cockpit! He can use cameras at first, but when they go boom, then press a button which ejects the heavy blcok wall from in front of the cockpit :)
lol I quite like that idea :D
Haven’t seen the whole video but with auto crafting I would recommend having multiple auto crafting lcd and number the Autocrafting 1 Autocrafting 2 and so on because then it shows more items
Well done I love it
I've eaten. I could eat again. ON THE TV WITH YOU
I feel like Capac would be ready to go for elevensies no matter the time of day :P
46:20 are Capac's guns too far back and therefore clipping the cockpit as he turns and fires?
Oh come on Splitsie. 47:35 I thought of it first.
3:55 Oh, that's-a spicy space ship. Maybe Clang wanted to make double dog sure it was welded in the interior?
I wish modern navy dry docks were this colorful.
So "Dude where is my Space Fighter" -- I mean space can be really big.😇🤪
Good video and thank you
I mean, I certainly give Capac points for creativity on a ... 'self-capacing'?
True, I don't think anyone else has shot themselves in this series :D
He's a man of many talents.
I'm not sure if anyone else has commented this or if you've now solved the problem, but I suspect the issues you were having with the autocrafting lcd were because there are now two panels with the same name. Isy's script may have been getting confused between the two.
You know... crazy idea. But perhaps you could make progress on the skywarp if you didn't chase after every ship that flew by the asteroid like a squirrel with adhd. XD oh look a ship nevermind building and engineering must shoot stuff.Sometimes it is good to not attack everything that looks at you wrong from 5km away.
well, my suggestion for Capac style of fighting , is to have a drone-fighter printer instead of a bay, print the drone every time you want to fight something and stay inside the 50km range of the carrier . put an armed warhead on the drones so they explode , and he can just print another and return to fight .
Going truly disposable :D
@@Splitsie one down side, is that it will lose the possibility of Capac getting lost .
I’d really like to see a series even more combat focused! Assertive is a nice 50/50 of combat and survival but there isn’t much variety in combat or combat ships.
If you need to turn off the dampeners on either on the Skywarp or on the printer's own subgrid, slap a remote control on the printer arm and a button on the control board that uses it to toggle dampeners. Dunno how it'll work with the larger ship but it might.
13:15 That poster has never been more accurate to the room it's in than now.
After seeing Capac's remote-death, I feel like that person who used to count deaths and list the count by cause is probably lucky they don't do that anymore, because _wow_ that list must've gotten so long by now.
25:24 What Capac needs on the front of the Rumble is the equivalent to one of those ram bumpers (I've heard they call them 'roo bars' there in Austrailia, though here they're referred to as bull bars since it's based on whatever usually runs into them) they put on police cars and wilderness trucks and so forth. A big protrusion of blast door blocks that will take the impact of the consequences of him holding down 'W' the entire time he's in a fixed-weapon dogfight. Which I think is his main issue, is that he relentlessly chases down the drones until either they back off into their own territory and he's overwhelmed, they get destroyed, or he hits them. Hence the turret ship suggestion.
In regards to the Rumble's remote control upgrade, I was admittedly expecting you to tell him about how you'd already put the materials for the cockpit into it alongside the ammo. That's most of the reason he loses it - well, that, and because he again inadvertantly rams most things and either loses thrust, control, or weapons.
When capturing the THI-842-S (mouthful of a name by design, I think, for a prisoner transport), based on Capac's description he possibly managed to ram a fragment of a drone with his ship and was unlucky enough for it to hit the cockpit (in following you he was directly following the path of the drone TFE had just turned into debris, so it's a possibility).
My theory for the frequency issue is that the Rumble's armor scheme is basically a bucket at the front with the cockpit at the base, scooping up debris and bullets alike and making it so any damage which hits the upper armor is spread to the nearby blocks and chips away at the cockpit health as well as possibly tilting the whole ship back to make incoming shots then hit the cockpit directly (and raising his time to kill while he recenters which gives the drones more chances). The Frenzy's cockpit is exposed from the top, meaning shots that would hit the Rumble's armor and cause such damage are more likely to miss the Frenzy, though the most damning aspect is that the Frenzy is more evasively flown since Capac seems to spend most of his time accellerating towards the target - hence the inadvertant ramming and the way he circles wherever he's going in very aggressive ovals, passing close and then launching past at a distance again - whereas Splitsie largely just strafes around the drones while also strafing them with gunfire.
Seriously a fixed weapon fighters is the very worst thing they could give capac, he's got extreme target fixation issues.
It has to be the top gatlings blowing up his ship, he's nearly always full speed and going up when it happens lol.
That's my current theory, will be interesting to see if the tests support it
This station ought to have something akin to the grinder pit(or perhaps a dedicated ship) to make breaking down captured ships much less labor intensive.
How about a small module that the fighters can pick up and is only a battery, survival kit, antenna and connector? maybe some extra blocks that turn the survival kit on and off whenever the connector is locked. And if you put some ion thrusters, gyroscopes and remote control you could even call it back near the asteroid base.
This way going back to the fight (or picking up your corpses) would be faster.
Well, Capac might not be the best fighter pilot around, but he's got a knack for recovery flight, if he manages to fly the thing again
Also regarding Rumble, maybe instead of seat parts it should have parts for making the cab functional in there instead? That'd allow for a quick fix and be more convenient than having to go through the remote every time
Methinks Capac's top-of-cab guns might be shooting into his cockpit when moving at high speeds.
EDIT: 47:30 Looks like Splitsie is of the same opinion.
splitsie you should put components for a new cockpit in the connector so he can repair him self with isy's
That's his primary ammo storage so there isn't really room to store components, that's why I put the remotes on there instead :)
Shadow in this mix would be Even more caotic love the videoes from Norway ❤
Splitsue has added a mini warhead under the cockpit and denotes it
I think we need to make the grumble (as thats all its owner does) with a rear cockpit and some serious heavy armour... something like a battering ram with guns, as capac will use it
I think Splitsie or TFE neesd to give Capac some crash course in remote control (like mutiple RC blocks, hot-bars are per block, pressinf f to leave remote blocks)
also, helm on a back of a ship (or other control seat) might be godd backup.
Watched and Liked 👍
35:25 I had this problem so many time on servers. And at the worst of timing too!
Nah this was totally my own fault - we've got the camera panning mod and I didn't realise I had the camera panned :D
Honestly surprised you have not incorporated a single welder into the Rumble just to keep the cockpit alive by now.
No space, it would end up too large to fit in the hangar if I tried to :P
Now we have "hamster" Capac 🤣
How much did you laugh at Capac's footage when he shot himself with the Rumble?
Also is the Marlin now just airtight hangar doors with some thrusters? What is its purpose?
it has a purpose? :P
Its purpose is to fill out space in the tunnel so they have trouble getting stuff in/out of the SkyWarp
Purpose? Details...
@@AlfJustAlf I'm asking too much
Marlin? Purpose? I'm not sure it has really had one since it lost its punching drill fists :D
LMAO Capac good stuff
12:20 ... didnt watch the rest, but my guess is that there is second autocrafting LCD somewhere on then base :)
Never seen anyone shoot themself with their own ship before
Chat command spawn request sent... I wonder what that is, although I have some guesses. I hope we'll see some behind the scenes eventually.
The guys behind the scenes were having some issues with getting drones to help them out, I was testing to see if I could get it to work but hadn't meant to leave any evidence of that in the video - oops! :P
"LCD autocraft2" should fix the problem, it will continue the alfabet on there :)
12:30 Have you tried setting up two inventory LCDs and splitting the list between them? It looks like Izzy's is trying to do that on its own and running into errors.
are you planning on uploading another stationeers (terraformers from mars) video i really like those and the base you where making?
As seen in the last episode, that save has become unplayable unfortunately so we were unable to continue :(
when i heard the outro music i stopt watching so i didnt know, are you planning on another stationeer's series? i really like the group dynamic and i think it fits perfect with that game@@Splitsie
Capac is to combat ship cockpits as TFE is to airlocks, rofl! Well played Capac for shooting yourself with your own ship 😂
TFE's Scorpion seems fairly effective with the gatling weapons, whilst use of the heavy weapon is ... slightly amusing. Seems to be the right ship for TFE to be flying for his role in ah, _privateering_ operations.
I wonder how long before ARC succeeds in making off with one of your ships ...
If that guy had a better grinder (and a welder) the prisoner might have managed it. Since they were a prisoner on an assert ship, I'm not sure which faction they would have belonged to
@@Splitsie A second, non-aligned 'NPC' faction?! The plot thickens. :)
Those pods get so confusing every episode :P
They're kinder surprise pods :P
@Splitsie is this one a kinder surprise or a rotten egg
Watching on tv
Great video, is this a scenario and could u link in the description please.
Just got back from 1st term of school
Hm, that issue with Issy's really is weird.. wonder if you did miss a second script, I didn't see you check PB9 there, or if it'd be worth removing and remaking the PB?
Some are thinking there might be another autocrafting LCD somewhere which may explain the behaviour, I'll have to go hunting for it :)
So when is the skywalk going to actually fly again?
Hey, there is a script that I believe will help you very much, it's the Floor Plan script.
Oof, I don't think anyone who's joining in for this save wants me using that on the SkyWarp - the performance hit will be something else :P
just get capac a drone. that way he doesnt have to be in it to fly it. make sure that drone has more then one camera facing forward.
is there way to see names on death bags or is it only by knowing whose color is what? i love the isekai joke as well lol other people are posting the comments as well
26:00 I'm sorry TFE sir, you called?
you went into the cryopods on the new ship capture, why are you coming out of them in the base?!
#blamecapacforeverything is the new motto
Always ;)
@splitse what mod do you use to see your inventory for your cargo and drill , welder units on your HUD?
That's part of the Build Info mod :)
Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to figure this one out for a while now.
where doese splitsie sleep? eddits every 5 minutes when i find something else to say :D can the rumble get a large hinge with a heavy armor block as the front and then a inlayed cockpit? just so his face tanking gets realy good?
Unfortunately what happened to capac is a bug with Gatling guns shooting while traveling above 40-50m/s, the bullets spawn 2-3 blocks behind the tip of the gun damaging the gun as well, sometimes the bullets seem to be spawning horizontal to my screen like there is someone shooting from the side, I think all speed mods are causing this bug.
33:44 TFE is RTB
I've been having issues with ISY auto crafting, works for a bit, then goes to a really small list of basics and requires using the reset command several times, not too sure why this happens. it's on a cross-server.
Still can't believe you let Tiffany get away with his box fighter, wasn't it you who made the video about no more bricks?
Sometimes you just gotta let bricks, be bricks :P
Did splits REALLY just ask if CAPAC was "in control"?
Wait, why are the welders set to turn off only if there's no small grid in the area? Or does the sensor for detecting players also detect players in cockpits?
Because I only want them on when there's a ship in there. No point having them on when there isn't, there's only been one death with that setup so far so I'd say it's working :D
@@Splitsie could you do it with an event controller and a boolean switch?
When your printing the Rumble and Frenzy, aren't they subgrids of the bigger ship, and don't they share dampener settings?
I think it's just of the subgrid of the printer, honestly I should have known better and just used thrusters on/off instead as it's a more easily known state
@@Splitsie you could also have the blueprint with thrusters already off
:)
16:03 press it, I dare you
i think TFE's aiming troubles are either from way to strong of gyros or his sensitivity is to high for the size of ship he is flying
Okay so... very simple question: How is someone meant to edit a mod's configuration file. It looks like there should be an XML somewhere but I literally, cannot find it no matter how hard I try. Closest I got was a .cs file but I don't think I want to be editing that. It seems like this is something you're just... meant to know but I just cannot find it.
love the content but you do know it looks like revelation is happening right
So when do U think U could start building Assert Thrusters yourself?
My intention is for that to never be possible, the thrusters are intended as a thing to utilise as a whole block :)
@@Splitsie Interesting idea.
I have tossed around the idea of being able to build the Large Grid Assert Thrusters in a similar way to the Small Grid ones. Likely by looting a "thruster frame" or equivalent to allow you to place it (along with a bunch of components already there) and then you finish it out.
But a: I am lazy, and it sounds like work. More importantly it sounds like modelling work 😆
and b: I'm not sure I ever talked with Splitsie about the idea, other than possibly in the broader scope of adding other things.
However.. Since Splitsie controls the loot tables even if I were to implement the idea, he would still need to be the one to make them lootable in the first place. Thus it entirely hinges on whether or not he wants that.
