Check out Hyce's vid and sync them up to see both perspectives simultaneously! A bit of a longer race but we essentially just turned it into a podcast like old times. ua-cam.com/video/zw2_oxqnsTM/v-deo.html
@kANGaming, (8:52) the videos are always out of sync because the videos appear to be rendered with slightly different speeds. Every time I've watched two of these perfectly synced at the start, they always gradually drift out of sync because one is faster than the other. Sorry, I don't have information right now to say which one it the faster and no ability to check.
I think there is a ability to check on the desktop I will msg here if I find it as me learning website development so I think maybe I can find that info I saw it one time before
As a switchman for one of the Class 1 railroads in Canada, watching how Kan moved the slug to the front hurt my soul lol. Still Congrats on the win Kan can't wait for you to get the steam win!!!!
I agree! I would have dropped the slug in one siding, then drop the consist in the other siding, then hook the slug behind the DE2, & hook the consist behind the slug. Minimal movements that way. It was a race after all and KAN’s method could have cost him if Hyce hadn’t derailed the Dutch drop.
@@urbanrallyracerhe didn't even have to do that much. Just drop the slug on the main before the switch to the harbor, back the train towards the harbor and drop it just past the switch, go grab the slug, grab the train, then high ball!
The hard hat isn't to see where the guy was standing when he got squished to paste. It is to protect the guy's head from any pins, nuts, bolts, or tools which may have been left unsecured in the rigging. It is like the helmet on a motorcycle. It won't keep you alive from a catastrophic collision, but it will keep a minor incident from making you a vegetable.
For major accidents, the yellow color probably does more than the hard material of the hard hat. Unless it's one of those "he got hit in the head with a loose nut, got dazed, and stumbled back into the trash compactor" kind of chain reaction.
42:00 ish - A tie point for a boat that is located on a dock is called a cleat, (boats can have their own cleats too). The main style I have seen look like a capital T with a second vertical support.
Already watched Hyce's side of things. It would be nice if you could synchronize the release times, so both are released at the same time and we could watch both videos at the same time from minute 1.
....i got 18 minutes into this video before realizing i was watching kan's pov and not hyce's. this whole time i thought hyce was just being devious and lying about what he was doing lmao
Congrats Kan!! Just a thought tho, you should have stopped at the switch. Then you could have uncoupled the slug on the track to the garage. Then pulled your Tran forward and backed your cars into the harbor track far enough to clear. Then go back, get your slug then back into your cars and your ready to go. Just a thought lol.Anyway, congrats on the win. Look forward to future uploads.
Loving these races. As an idea, start from the coal mine with whatever train you want behind( the heavier the better in my opinion) to the furthest point on the map from there, either a job or a custom setup. The catch is you have to flip a coin before the race, one person has the S282 and the other has the de6( I think that is what it is called, the big diesel). I don't know if one is better than the other but it could be interesting. If the S282 if more powerful than the diesel you can also use the slug.
I have a few factory stories as well. I work in injection molding and we use to make the wheels and fenders for Segways. The mold was so big we would have to hang it in halves because it will be too heavy for a 3 ton crane if it was together. That crane had no breaks at all. If you stop moving it, no matter how slow you were going the momentum of the mold moving would cause it to coast farther and if you try to line up the locating ring on the front platen, the crane will just get pushed back. When you lay the mold halves down on their skids, you'll get an idea what the break men went though back in link and pin days. You'll push it to get the mass pass center so it could lay down but once it goes you have to make sure you get your hands out of the way fast enough. When the shift before me tied pulling or hanging the mold, they accidently went too fast and the crane coasted to the stops which turned the mold into a wrecking ball (or wrecking brick.) I also once seen liquid fire drip out the end of a nozzle as the barrel was heating up. Also seen some insane aftermaths from hydraulic leaks. Fun times. Fun time. 🤣🤣
kAN would probably have won much more quickly if he’d switched more efficiently. Dropping the slug on the main line, just before that switch into the yard, then dropping the rest of the train in the yard lead & reassembling would have cut a couple minutes of time off without requiring more movements
If you didn't realize it already, you need to use the train brake with the slug. Hyce said the independent *should* actuate the brakes on the slug, but it doesn't in the game.
Congratulations on the victory kAN, well deserved for your superior tactics this time! The next challenge is the steam win, but you'll need to do your training in the same conditions as the race itself with some kind of similar pressure.
Nice win, although I would have driven straight into the harbor, and just hooked the DE2 into the back of the consist, then driving out, prolly even not turning the DE2 around and driving out "backwards", to reduce the switching operations. But a win is a win. Well done
Re sync last episode: I started both videos synced up at the start before the 3-2-1 countdown and it was fine for a bit, but then I noticed you cut a bit between the start of the video and the countdown, so I had to resync it. That's probably what the comments were referring to.
yep i had 208volt at 30 amp though my heart finger tip to finger tip am good but i remember voltage cooks well amp fries something like that voltage flow well amps is the amount per flow that why wire are gauge for amp think this idea of small amount of amp kills is lighting very high volt but low amps
god watching kan switch on this one was so painful. just detach the slug, then go forward, change the switch, back up, change the switch, go forward, couple, go. he did it so roundabout and slowly. \*spoilers*\ im surprised he won
Well done. Your switching was a bit relaxed for a race and that almost made Hyce be able to catch up. Just watch once how he switches. Full send, speed and lots of brake. Sure dutch drop is cool if it works but it almost never does. So don't copy that but the speed. Grats on win. One day it will happen with steam too.
I feel like Hyce would have been better if he had used the hand brake on the slug instead of the air valve and hit the air valve on the cars coming at him.
Can you ask hyce if there was ever a mechanically activated steam injector? Like a float in the boiler that as the water level drops would automatically open the valve to add more water. Especially as a safety mechanism to stop the level from going too low.
@@madmothertrucker18 I watched his video first... the reason Kan beat him by so much was that Kan started with the assumption that he needed the slug, while Hyce did not even slow down to think about it until the tunnel. Neither Amps, not Volt kill. Watts kill, aslong the voltage can manage to make you conduct good enough, and there is enough Amps to actually cook you. Its both.
You know what probably happened, was something to do with Veriable Frame Rate versus non-variable frame rate, and some editing software might not deal with VBR properly (like Adobe Premiere Pro CS6)./
Personally I would have got to the first switch dropped the slug with brake on before the switch. move forward through the switch then switch it go back through the switch and drop the rest of the train there go forward through the switch then switch it back to grab the slug go through and switch it back to pick up the rest of the train. Would have been back and forth a couple times through a switch but would be faster and more efficient than running around to get the slug and then running back around to pick up the train. And the slug would be behind the de2 so have a better view to see signs and stuff on the track. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and I wouldn't be that fast doing it if I were racing and trying to rush through it
Why not just drop the slug on a siding, then go past it and drop the cars, then go back with just the locomotive to grab the slug and hook it up to the train cars?

kAn just set the new standard for Class 1 railroads... You are now to start putting the slugs in front kAn style. :D
@@CMDRSweeper lol most of the yard consists I see are 2 locos back to back with slugs on the outsides. So Kan has 1/2 of what I see normally.

Yeah, the cost of wearing a helmet is negligible, so if there's even the tiniest possible risk... put one on.
For major accidents, the yellow color probably does more than the hard material of the hard hat. Unless it's one of those "he got hit in the head with a loose nut, got dazed, and stumbled back into the trash compactor" kind of chain reaction.
Watching Kan switch in slow motion, I was going "why is he giving himself such a massive time handicap?!" (Knowing how fast Hyce operates)
To be fair, I tend to run way too fast in the yard and have destroyed a lot of stuff in that way. But yes, kAN did it unreasonably slow

Already watched Hyce's side of things. It would be nice if you could synchronize the release times, so both are released at the same time and we could watch both videos at the same time from minute 1.
Instead of a heavy load for the steam engines, you should do a light load so that it becomes much easier to hit spicy speeds if you're not careful.
Best line ever! "I don't trust the DE2 to pull me car out of the ditch."

Why did he back up all the way into the Harbor and not just use the first switch to put the slug on the front/behind the DE-2?
Congrats on the win Kan. Ropes get tied to cleats on boat docks.
Kan, on Diesel Electric locomotives and probably including slugs the hatch for sand is not on top but on the side/end of the locomotives

So next race Hyce has to bottle the air, on his train and can only use hand breaks or the locomotive independent break
great job on the win! Now do it while double heading steam engines.
He said PRO-cess haha that's funny. Love these races tho!!! I miss the multiplayer RRO vids
The combination of the amps and voltage is deadly, not just the number of amps

I can't believe kAN won a race against Hyce, you are ready to race steam again, just remember that cutoff is king and you'll be good!
42:06 The things you’re thinking of is a bollard. (although if there’s two right next to each other they’re called bitts.)

i wonder how much benefit to the slug would be adding another de2?

Can you ask hyce if there was ever a mechanically activated steam injector? Like a float in the boiler that as the water level drops would automatically open the valve to add more water. Especially as a safety mechanism to stop the level from going too low.
Kinda the way the float works in the fuel bowl of a carburetor.
Glorious victory!
27:20 In ultimate edition they will obey Newtons third law. As a result, the photons emitted by the headlights will slow you down. 🤣
Also on Steam locomotives you need water all the way over the top of the firebox other wise the fire box can warp and possibly need to be replaced
Cheers on the victory m8 ;)
i think dudeman might be talking about the discord audio. the discord transmition lag is different between you two

It takes anywhere from .01-.04 amps to kill you.
.1 to .2 amps depending on weight / size to kill a person
