Well it’s midday here in Nova Scotia. Just been looking at all your dress fabrics and patterns. It’s strange, but I wouldn’t have chosen any of them, until I saw you in them. I am astounded how fabulous they look on you. I don’t think they sell those patterns over here other than the fabrics. You have opened my eyes to new ideas. Thank you!
Oh that’s so lovely to hear! All the patterns I discuss on this vlog are available as PDFs so you can either print them yourself and stick together or send off to a copy shop printer 😊

That cocowawa plum dress is gorgeous on you Ruan and the red definitely suits you. One of my favorite parts are the rolled hems you did. Maybe one day...I'm sure my serger does it but I would need some extra time to learn and right now I'm just trying to babystep my way through some more makes. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. The rolled hem was so much easier than I thought - definitely worth 10 minutes with your manual to work it out 👍

Gorgeous makes Ruan, the fabrics and styles suit you so well, I don't have an overlocker and didn't realise they had a feature for making such decorative stitches, the embroidery thread was very unusual, the great thing about handmade clothes you'll never see anyone else wearing them. Beautiful wardrobe. ❤

I made it and love it. Never sewn a zip befor either. So some unpicking there but it all worked out well after a bit of fiddling.

Wow all your makes are just lovely! I know this video isn’t about this month’s Beyond the Pink Door but I just received my April box #27 tonight, I’m in the US, and you are a star in the Ebook! I love that rainbow hem! So cute 😍. I got the Cocowawa Plum with a magazine a few years ago. I didn't think it would suit me, but yours looks amazing....maybe I'll give it a go. Thank you for inspiring a bit of risk taking in your sewing.

I love all your makes but the cocowawa dress is so striking and looks gorgeous on you even though it's "plain." (My sweet old kitty passed away last Sunday, literally hours after I commented that she was doing well. She just went to bed and never woke up.💔)

There's nothing worse than wearing a sack! The 6 fits you beautifully with room and I love the rainbow hemming. So many beautiful garments. You just have a knack for teaming u the fabric and patterns beautifully. I especially LOVE the oversized shirt. I have the pattern but haven't made it yet but I think I was planning to use it as a nightshirt type thing last winter and just didn't get there. Story of my life - so many ideas and so little time. I didn't even get my sewaprilblouse made AGAIN!!!! But I am sewing now, unpicking in fact. Triple stitch topstitching that went wrong because I didn't use the walking foot because I thought I knew better - ha! Anyway, another great video and with more fantastic makes xx

WOW you’ve done so well, I’m not sure which is my favourite but love the detail you’ve added on the red dress and the pattern matching on the pink overshirt. The silk water slip and your last dress are both dreamy, all very successful. So much more productive than me, love watching all the vlogs but not I’m not so productive. Hopefully that will change as I have some dreamy fabrics from Lady McElroy to make up❤

Wow, two times in the same day 😁. I got my Think Pink Box today 😉. I’m excited about that 😊. I like your Plum dress. It looks comfy and such a lovely color. Love the buttons too. I think you should wear whatever makes you happy and feels good. I like the oversized shirt too. Beautiful color and versatile too. I don’t think you need a belt unless you want one. I love the saltwater too. I have to wear a t-shirt or tank top because it’s too low for me. It’s so comfy. I love your fabric. The pattern is so pretty. Great makes! Q: do you ever finish making something and then really not like it? And what do you do with that then? This is happening to me alot...!!
Not as often as I used to. I think I’ve started to realise what suits my shape and how to grade patterns so they fit me better. I think that comes with time. If you don’t like them then gifting them to someone who will like them would be a lovely thing to do 🥰

Never sewn with double gauze before, do you iron it at any stage? Before cutting out? What about pressing seams? Lovely makes. ❤
It depends what end result you want. You can iron it if you think you’ll want to iron your finished garment. Or you can hold the iron above the fabric and steam it a bit! Hope that helps. It’s a gorgeous fabric to wear 😍
