Genius what you did with the pre-filter and cleaning filter. Our water is so bad that our machine clogs frequently and we have to bust he expensive Enagic filters more often. Def going to go your route soon! Thanks for the top notch vid.
I too would love to see a video on how you bypassed the kangen filter and how you connected the hose to your RO faucet. I have a 5-stage RO with remineralizer and am currently borrowing a Kangen, but it’s running off the main tap and not the RO. Salesman said if we were running off an RO, we’d need a different or additional filter. I’d rather hook it up to the RO faucet if that’s an option without needing another Kangen filter. I like that you just bypassed their filter completely. Please let us know how you did that and what connector you used to hook it to the RO faucet (an online link if there is one would be great). Thanks!!
I agree ... First , he's mixing two kinds of acid . I'm not sure about doing that . Myself I'd just do this procedure with just the citric acid . That should be good enough
Could you please let me know how you made/modified your bypass filter. I have the same setup, but using the provided cleaning filter all the time. I don't like that it has that cloth-like material, and want to take it out! Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
Hi! I have a questuon. What's the reason for using vinegar? You sure the vinegar won't hurt the plates? Could I use water instead? Also, where did you buy your 5-stage osmosis from you mention in the video? Thank you!
Can you help me too,my machine even i just change the filter it keeping say (notice cleaning)i let's it run and run all day it still say so,what's can i do.thank you
NEVER NEVER use vinegar in a kangen unit it will destroy it I know because I was doing that and enagic said the vinger ate up the in sides I have to get a new one
How did you clear out the absorbent material inside the CPU-N? I pulled most of mine out with pliers but there's still loose strands inside the CPU that I can not seem to completely clear out. I'm afraid they will mold because I am also not wanting to use a filter inside the machine anymore.
That's pretty cool thanks. My SD501 Platnum is stuck on "Notice Cleaning" mode. I've done a normal clean and changed the filter and it's still saying it. Do you think it might need this type of Deeper clean? I've also got the water running through two external filters before it goes into the Kangen machine.
Great informative video. Can you also make a video how you made your bypass filter with needed materials? I also have undermount filters and kangen filter seems redundant. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for your video. I stay in Houston and I have SD501. I am getting notice for cleaning message every day, even though I do ecleaning regularly. Could you please help me.
Is there anything vinegar can’t do? Great for cleaning and makes house smell good. I put a tablespoon or so in my two liter lemon water as well. Apple cider is good. Hey -how about a banana and avocado sandwich for lunch?
Hey I am needing to clean mine this way. I got this same pump but 400gph from Amazon too and it’s smallest nozzle is still too big to stretch the kangen hose over. I looked at his in the video same from Amazon but says 200gph and still with same size nozzle of .51”. Now what? How do I know one will screw in if I find bd one slightly smaller and the right size of another brand because I’m not finding replacement variety nozzle sizes for Vicodin pumps (searching for nozzle replacements now) Thank you if someone will answer me I’ve been needing to do this for a while
So it’s me again. Looks like you cut off the end of that tube in the cpu. Is that right? Did you also pull out the soft material that’s in the bottom of it? Please, please let me know.
Thanks for your very thoughtful formative video. I was just wondering why you would need citrus acid powder if you are already using the CLR . Isn’t the CLR enough? Unless the citrus acid does something the CLR doesn’t. Please explain. And again thanks for your videos!
I so want to hack my machine to hook it up to my RO system. Can you either explain exactly what you did to the CPU or put a link to a video, if you have one? Thanks a bunch!
Great video man! Any idea why some people recommend not using vinegar? Also I have read about the vinegar/citric acid eating away the seals on the fish pump and ruining the plates? Any idea on if this is true or not ?
Hi my pump is 800 GPH or 3000 liters ph do you think it’s too fast passing / much pressure to clean? It might be fine but when you drink water it has to pass at a normal speed to pass the plates so it ionizes it’s.. it should’nt be an issue since it’s for cleaning but my only worry is that it could damage something by being to pressure /high flow?? Lmk what you think I can return or buy a new one what gph is good I see yours is low but does it matter?
My pump is more powerful and larger than yours (660 GPH and 38 WATT) but still no water flowing through the goose neck, only the deposit tube. Water has a strong flow so I’m not sure where I went wrong!
Hi thanks for the video . i have a a filtering system under my sink too so i noticed you dont have a filter in your machine .. can you explain to me how I can go about doing the same please . also i was not able to connect my tube to the really thin tap like yours i had to connect it yo my other tap .. so where could i find a pipe to connect yo the thinner tap which is connected to my reverse ozmosis filtering under my sink . Thank you
That’s what I use! Non-GMO project certified ✅ (I hear that GMO citric acid is made from black mold or something so I’d definitely make sure to get it non-GMO certified)
Thank you so much for this video. I bought a different brand besides kangan today, and I also have a reverse osmosis filter with re mineralizer. I wasn't sold on the price of Kangan and felt I found a really good model for 500 overseas. I will say though, your tubes look like mold is growing in them! that is my biggest concern. Am I the only one who sees black mold in your tubes? I know mold can grow in these machines and that is my biggest fear/concern. Would this clean that enough? Should I occasionally boil tubes?
Good luck with your $500 ionizer. Have you ever heard, " you get what you pay for".. I've had my SD 501 for 13 years. Helping so many people one glass at a time.
Should we keep it for over night or for only 1hr because I saw one person kept it for only one hour. I have Leveluk jr 2 also should we do once per month or once per 3 months
I wouldn't mix two different acids . I like your set up but wouldn't take a chance with using vinegar . Why not just use the citric acid , and recirculate for a couple of hours . I'm not taking a chance on a 5k machine ! Lol , no thanks !
Why in the world would you conect to the RO and strip out all the minerals and the all the good stuff out of the water. It is well known that To is very clean but unfortunately I'd a dead water and very oxidated water. You can test the water from the RO and see that imidiatly Please stop desiforming ppl about it çz that is definitely defiting the purpose of the water ionizer. Check with the company if you like to be sure and see it for your self.
While that is in fact what RO does, he also mentions that there is a "remineralizer" that reintroduces all the electrolytes back into the water before sending it to the outlet. This is why he doesn't filter the water at the Kangen machine itself and why he cut out the filter material in the cleaning cartridge to create a "bypass" filter. This prevents mineral build up in the cartridge.

Just put on an empty e cleaning capsule instead of the filter. Why would you have to modify it?
Omg Never use vinegar in the water machine I did that and I messed it up I had to put brand new plates in it Plus enagic voided my warranty
I agree ... First , he's mixing two kinds of acid . I'm not sure about doing that . Myself I'd just do this procedure with just the citric acid . That should be good enough
@@CanadianNortherner-i8g Does using citric acid damage the plates?
Really?? cause so many are doing it with white vinegar in the UA-cam videos!! Why do they mess up with their machine anyway.
hey I would like to know how you bypassed the filter on the machine because I have a reverse osmosis on the bottom also
Could you please let me know how you made/modified your bypass filter. I have the same setup, but using the provided cleaning filter all the time. I don't like that it has that cloth-like material, and want to take it out! Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
Does the kangen system need water pressure to run or can it suck water out of water that’s been filtered in a berkey?
How do you bypass the kangen filter? What brand of reverse osmosis do you use?
Why would you drink reverse osmosis water? RO water is dead water.
Grwat video bro. Quality camera and good idea on using osmosis filter. Can you talk about how you hacked the filter?
Hi, Can you tell me how to do straight by pass that you did in your system? That would be helpful. I do have the same system as you.
Hi! I have a questuon.
What's the reason for using vinegar? You sure the vinegar won't hurt the plates?
Could I use water instead?
Also, where did you buy your 5-stage osmosis from you mention in the video?
Thank you!
Great video so this replaces the need to have it professionally cleaned in the shop correct? Thank yiu!
Can you do a video or tell me how to modify the cleaning cartage so it is a straight through also i have a 2 state filter as well thank you
#1 Great video! Right to the point. I will be cleaning my machine this way from now on. How often do you deep clean your machine? Thanks
Im interested in knowing what 5 stage reverse osmosis filter system you got.
Where can I buy that pump and what's it called?
How much water do you add to the tank and what kind? And how much water & salt? I also have a luk 501 and thank you where do you order the new filter?
Can you help me too,my machine even i just change the filter it keeping say (notice cleaning)i let's it run and run all day it still say so,what's can i do.thank you
Please show us how you made your bypass filter with needed materials?
NEVER NEVER use vinegar in a kangen unit it will destroy it I know because I was doing that and enagic said the vinger ate up the in sides I have to get a new one
I can't get the cleaning filter to fit right so I can clean it the ring will not screw on correctly
Thank you for the video, i was wondering how you managed to keep a high flow rate into the kangen machine since the RO system reduces it?
I used that brand. Unless I t says lemon on the package the citric acid is made from mold.
How did you clear out the absorbent material inside the CPU-N? I pulled most of mine out with pliers but there's still loose strands inside the CPU that I can not seem to completely clear out. I'm afraid they will mold because I am also not wanting to use a filter inside the machine anymore.
I did it with the power on, what happens if you do it with the power on??
That's pretty cool thanks. My SD501 Platnum is stuck on "Notice Cleaning" mode. I've done a normal clean and changed the filter and it's still saying it. Do you think it might need this type of Deeper clean? I've also got the water running through two external filters before it goes into the Kangen machine.
Great informative video. Can you also make a video how you made your bypass filter with needed materials? I also have undermount filters and kangen filter seems redundant. Thank you.
Yes, I could use a more detailed 'how to' on the filter bypass. How to make it? what parts to buy? Thank you.
Can we use the CPU ?
Mine just says notice cleaning no matter what I do. Pretty bummed
Would a pet fountain pump do with this?
Is this pump strong enough to ionize the water if I wanted to pump Spring water straight to it?
Hi, Thanks for your video. I stay in Houston and I have SD501. I am getting notice for cleaning message every day, even though I do ecleaning regularly. Could you please help me.
It’s time to send it in for a total cleaning.
Amazing bro, thanks for the ideas! Great to see how you attached it to your pre filtered water faucet and the pump- cheers 😊
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍💪
Can I also clean my old Sunus machine?
Is there anything vinegar can’t do? Great for cleaning and makes house smell good. I put a tablespoon or so in my two liter lemon water as well. Apple cider is good. Hey -how about a banana and avocado sandwich for lunch?
Haha very true! I dont think the Banana and avocado mix tastes too good 🤪
I actually stopped using vinegar and just use the Strong Acidic Water to descale my coffee maker.
Thank You Very Much for the video. What power is your pump in Watts? Thanks again.
Hey I am needing to clean mine this way. I got this same pump but 400gph from Amazon too and it’s smallest nozzle is still too big to stretch the kangen hose over. I looked at his in the video same from Amazon but says 200gph and still with same size nozzle of .51”. Now what? Hey, great video, man! But you should not use vinegar!!! It's a no no!!!!
why not use viengar? extra acid to dissolve the scale in the machine.
No, don't use vinegar.
Would you do another video on how you put this setup together and how you decided to get a Kangen machine?!
I have been told the same and doing it this way will void your warranty.
I left my 501 kangen water machine in the garage for year. I found out roaches in the machine how can I clean effectively?
why is water not coming out of the Kangen water outlet while doing this deep cleaning
Hi my pump is 800 GPH or 3000 liters ph do you think it’s too fast passing / much pressure to clean? You should be fine with that pump 👍
Is there any desired or mandatory percentage of vinegar in the white vinager for this Kangen purpose?
I've been seeing different amounts..
I wouldn't worry too much about the % it will still do the job. People have cleaned their coffee makers this way for years 💪
My pump is more powerful and larger than yours (660 GPH and 38 WATT) but still no water flowing through the goose neck, only the deposit tube. Water has a strong flow so I’m not sure where I went wrong!
Thank you!!! Very clear!
thank you, gonna try it
Hi thanks for the video . i have a a filtering system under my sink too so i noticed you dont have a filter in your machine .. can you explain to me how I can go
about doing the same please . also i was not able to connect my tube to the really thin tap like yours i had to connect it yo my other tap .. so where could i find a pipe to connect yo the thinner tap which is connected to my reverse ozmosis filtering under my sink . Thank you
Get a smaller diameter tube and shove it into the the larger one If it leaks place a plastic tie warp or small hose clamp
I don't get it! Why having 2 machine you said you have reverse osmosis already how come you have kangen still what's the point?
Reverse osmosis filters the water. Then the kangen makes it alkaline 👍
how much citric acid do you add?
Exactly what I need to know looks like he added a quarter to a half of his bag so I just added a little bit more but I got a different brand
Soo.. I'm out of Kangen cleaning solution. I guess store bought citric acid is just as good right?
That’s what I use! Non-GMO project certified ✅ (I hear that GMO citric acid is made from black mold or something so I’d definitely make sure to get it non-GMO certified)

I've had my SD 501 for 13 years. Helping so many people one glass at a time.
Hello. Thanks for the video. Can I ask you what kind of filters are you using. :)
Water + vinager
Or
Only vinager
??
Only vinegar
Should we keep it for over night or for only 1hr because I saw one person kept it for only one hour. I have Leveluk jr 2 also should we do once per month or once per 3 months
Bro why did you make this video so complicated
I wouldn't mix two different acids . I like your set up but wouldn't take a chance with using vinegar . Why not just use the citric acid , and recirculate for a couple of hours . I'm not taking a chance on a 5k machine ! Lol , no thanks !
