This is the last song Freddie was able to record and he was so sick, he couldn't finish it, Brian had to complete the end for him. It's powerful but SO sad.

Even more sad is the fact Freddie told Brian he would come back to finish it, but couldn't come back in the end.😢

According to Brian, Freddie sang each bit of the song in one afternoon when he was still strong enough to sing.
“He still had astonishing power in his lungs at that point, I really don’t know where it came from. During the recording of ‘Mother Love,’ he starts low and gentle, but Freddie chose to push himself and go higher. We looked at each other and knew there was a mountain to climb. That’s when the vodka really went down. He said, 'I will hit these notes.’ And he did. He soars to incredible heights, and this is a man who can’t really stand anymore without incredible pain and is very weak, you know, has no flesh on his bones , and you can hear the power, the will that he’s still hot. It was a wonderful performance.”

Brian said, “And Freddie at the time said ‘write me stuff .. I know I don’t have very long; keep writing me words, keep giving me things I will sing, then you can do what you like with it afterwards, you know, finish it off’ .. and so I was writing on scraps of paper these lines of Mother Love, and every time I gave him another line he’d sing it, sing it again, and sing it again, so we had three takes for every line, and that was it … “

This one hits hard. Freddie was going to come back to finish the vocals but never returned. Check out “A Winter’s Tale” which is a beautiful song he wrote while dying.

Mother Love from the Made In Heaven album released in 1995 after Freddie’s death in 1991, written by Mercury and Brian May,Mercury recorded two out of three verses,so May completed the final verse later on, absolutely stunning song , great reaction thanks 🙏

Have never seen this video before. There is a great but sad video that is usually shown with this song. This is the song that breaks every heart of every Freddie / Queen fan . To this day it makes me almost cry when Brian must sing the last part of this song because Freddie was too ill to finish it 😓

After the death of Freddie Mercury, Queen, together with the British Film Institute, invited several young filmmakers to create video clips inspired by the songs from the posthumous album Made in Heaven. In addition to Mother Love, I Was Born to Love You, Heaven for Everyone and Let me Live, among others, were also adapted. But, for me, the best result was You Don't Fool me.

This is such a heartbreaking song. As others have said Freddy knew he didn’t have long. There must be some meaning in the video, but I really didn’t pay attention to it. Once again, Brian‘s guitar is out of this world. As far as Freddy‘s voice goes, let’s face it. He was very close to death, and he could sing it allis amazing. Thank you once again.

Freddie was recording lines as he could during those last months of his life, He told the band he didn’t feel well, had to go home and would come back and sing the last stanza “later”, when he felt more up to it. But that never transpired 🥺 , so Brian sang the last verse. At the end of the song, there’s a little bit of the beginning of one hit song from each of their albums, going backwards, and a piece of one of Freddie’s most famous duos with the audience from Live Aid, then of course, the crying baby. It was chosen by a movie to include the song in it, but I don’t remember the name of the movie.

What Maryannkelley6808 said. This is such a beautiful song. Brian and Freddie co-wrote the words for this song and I believe Brian wrote the music. After Freddie passed, Brian wouldn't let anyone else touch this song. He said he knew exactly what Freddie wanted and that was how the song was going to be completed. This song makes me teary and I can hear the pain in Brian's voice as he sings the final verse after Freddie had passed. I don't quite get the video on this but the song is so beautiful.

THANK YOU, SOOO MUCH for reacting to so much Queen & Freddie!
…Whenever I listen to this song, it’s one of the times when I use one of the “unofficial” fan-made tribute videos instead of Queen’s official MV, because this MV is TOTALLY distracting from the deeper meaning/significance of the song. (I can totally see Brian May’s influence in this MV - he’s so into “outer space”, of course, being an Astrophysicist - but it’s one of those times when the vid is just too visually distracting.)
…There are so many GREAT, really well-done videos made by (some really TALENTED) Queen fans, it’s also EASY to find “unofficial” videos to accompany literally any Queen/Freddie Mercury solo song that never had an official MV made/only has a lyric video.. And, like in this case, sometimes the fan-made vids are actually BETTER than what Queen Official has!
(One of these channels that specializes in making music videos for Queen/Freddie Mercury solo songs is: KacioRMX …They’ve been making high-quality tribute videos for YEARS.)

Sad to have you hear this beautiful song.. attached to this video. As others have said, this was the last song Freddie was able to sing, and he was so very ill. There are several videos of Brian talking about how Freddie would come in.. barely able to walk.. take several shots of vodka.. and sing as much as he could. That said - Brian had to finish the last verse as Freddie never made it back in to complete it.

I think this video is bazaar and has nothing to do with Freddie and this important and beautiful song. The video that is usually played is far more sensitive and relevant to the words being sung.

  • @janetschulman8998

I hate that video. It has nothing to do with this song about Freddie’s feelings about his coming death.

Do you really give every song 10 out of 10 lol? The music video to this song is the worst ive ever seen. Has zero to do with the song, must be Brian May making dumb decisions again.

@@LilmannReacts I see, so is it like a binary thing, where if you dont like something you give it a zero? And if you like it you give it a 10?

Just depends on how the song over all makes me feel/think if its relatable or if its simply not for me🙏 and plenty of videos have gotten 1, 4,5 even a 20 out of 20 my ratings just my personal opinion not everyone would agree
