I used to do this in my bujos. I changed then to a more "formal" aka happy planner. I still find it too restrictive for me (my brain cannot handle it :). Looking back at my bujos, having a "monthly" page in one journal makes sense. Also, an idea: scan your "monthly" and print it out, and move the printout to a "yearly" journal. The ideas are limitless!

I am so thankful that this video was presented as a suggestion in my feed! I’ve been through a traumatic and depressing last nearly three years after being blindsided by learning that my husband of 23 of years at that time was betraying me. He later confessed to more betrayal in past years. My self worth plummeted. I was forced to file for divorce and it became official this past April just after our 25th anniversary. I never ever even imagined being divorced. 😢 I have oh so many art supplies, but I think my fear was that of failure to not have a perfect journal/creation. I knew being creative would be therapeutic but I just couldn’t. I journaled plenty in writing focusing on my pain and the events of the past months. But this!!!! This is what I need. What a no/low pressure way to start to create again. I will focus my monthly recaps on the positive things and feelings, no matter how small, because they are huge for me. I’m in near tears of joy at this new idea of a creative journey. So, thank you so much! ❤

This is amazing advice for a beginner like me! It takes pressure off and opens your creativity. There are so many different ways to do a monthly page or pages. I remembered to save receipts, movie tickets, business cards, etc. I would either write and glue as things happened or keep a little collections tray to do it all at once. Also maybe have a "currently section" and write down things you've been watching, reading, listening, eating, loving, etc. I learned that it's not necessary to have "pretty pages", what you create is perfect and you will appreciate that you did it. Some people are naturals at these things and some of us aren't. The best thing to do is jump right in to that "cold water" because eventually it will feel fine. I only have the past 3 months done but I love flipping back and looking at them. I've now started a small sized notebook for thoughts or writing what I am thankful for. Journaling doesn't have standards or rules. The best way to do it is to relax and be you. 🙂Thanks for sharing this video and all the others that have inspired me!

THIS is what I've been looking for! Keeping simple memories that are easy to look back on. I am someone who absolutely loves to brain dump in a journal and write for pages and pages, but I rarely ever want to look back at those entries. It's just to get my thoughts out of my head. But for actual memory keeping, this monthly snapshot sort of style seems perfect. Thank you for this idea and video!

I NEED a planner. I WANT to journal. I DON’T want multiple books. I just brought all my calendars home from work after taking early retirement due to a disability. Everyone at work laughed at my calendaring. I could go back and tell them when, or IF, we got off early for something, when we had our new office furniture put in, when we got our new printers/scanners/computers, when we started the new computer program, when a certain work situation happened, etc. If I asked a supervisor/boss a question, I recorded question, response, and person, as a back-up for myself. I also recorded interactions I had with the public that there might be questions about. I gave my supervisor and workmates permission to access my calendar if they ever had any questions concerning anything I had done. I was so invested they even let me use the calendar only supervisors got to order. I realized I could journal my home planner the same way and it would be like your month in review page. Just structured on a monthly calendar format instead of scattered around the page as yours is. Thus, I could have my planner and journal, too! Thank you for this idea! I love it!
Tomorrow, I am going to buy the pretty planner I saw in Walmart!🥰♥️💗

I like this i think it takes time to digest, think, learn and really focus on the experience of the month before......I mean little highlights are good I jot them in my phone notes...take pics that make me happy or sad...but its a whole month before I really feel like noting it down....and believe it or not I am not a journal person!.....I prefer it to be how I felt rather than things I have done and what my kids or grandkids will get something from when they find them after I am gone. ......the little side notes.. scribbles and stickers etc are fun though i get it.

I daily journaled for months and then stop for months, then started and stopped. I'm always sad I missed weeks because I love looking back to see what I've done. Since August I've been doing monthly photo dumps. Just looking back on my phone and printing the memories I want to keep.ans writing a few words or a sentence next to them. That's a I have the energy for. It's great because I can see my kids grow and remember we did a lot even though I feel bad because I have chronic migraine. I have started daily gratitude journaling, just one sentence a day before I go to bed. That's been very positive for my well being too. 😊

This year I tried daily Journaling and it wasn't much of a success. I've watched your monthly Journaling and have decided that is the best way to go for me. Thank you for the print out I really believe I can be successful with your help. As always thank you for your wonderful videos. God Bless you and your family and I hope you had a joyous Christmas and I wish for you a Happy, Healthy and a Peaceful New Year

Just found your channel. What a great incentive to start the flow of thoughts, feelings, doings, and all those experiences. I'm sure that on reflection, we will all be forever grateful 🙏 for the beginning of a "new us" only one page at a time! Great idea 💡 👍
