- In this video I installed a set of LCI headlights that have been modified with black housings. These headlights have been modified with Depo LED Angel Eye Rings. They look great and suit the car much more than the stock LDI headlights I had previously.
I do this on my 2008 BMW 335i. I already did the LCI conversion in the past, here is a video where I talk more about how to remove the headlights:

We did this with my buddies mini cooper headlights, pulled it apart, sanded then wetsanded the chrome, painted it black. Looks phenomenal, so much meaner looking. Perfect for that dechrome look everywhere else on his car. Gonna do it when I get ahold of the E90/1 335i I want to keep around.
I immediately painted the inside of my E91 black when I got the chance. that looks much nicer. The lens also cleaned and the glasses ground, polished and resealed.
I feel much more confident and comfortable taking my light apart after seeing this. Great stuff brother!
How did it go?
??
This is mad crazy.. I just got my bavgruppe halos. And I needed this thanks so much brother
The BMW DIY Yoda Jedi Knight awesome work I wish I had your skill excellent video and excellent work as always 👍
Wow that's really cool I have custom headlights I bought and now I kinda wanna restore my stock ones and make them look cool!
I would have also changed the high beam to a projector lens.. IMO looks better
its bi-xenon, low and high beam comes from projector lens.
Without cutting the lens or the housing it takes about 2 hours to get them open.
I tried taking apart my factory headlights and broke one. The last owner glued the lenses to the bucket. Found some aftermarket ones for 375$ which was way closer to my price range than replacing with factory xenon adaptive equipment.
Have you thought about installing halos and switchback so when you're making a turn it'll blink orange and then when you get out of the turn it stays white
Where you buy the new rings?
Do you have a link for the led rings and resistors? I have an E91 lci
Dude, Thank you for all the DIY videos they're really helpful.
I have a small request for you, is there any way you can also upload the complete video at normal speed for those of us that need that step by step video? It's hard enough trying to find good tutorial videos. Just asking for a bit of help as I liked all the videos you make and appreciate you sharing with all of us.
Thank you in Advance!
Just slow it down init
Hi, could you please tell me the sizes in total diameter of the inner and outer rings? I understand the inner ring is smaller. Also are they the same with the pre-lci headlights?
You came in clutch bro thanks
Omg I was gonna use that kit this summer since my lenses are not 100% smooth BUT the problem is I'm afraid it will yellow the eyebrow under the lens badly. I'm afraid the meguiars product won't be as good, I read some people say only got 3 months out of it even though they advertise 1 year per lab testing. Yes you can re-apply but I rather not cause permanent damage you know or something. Would be nice if you can do a follow up. Although my car is mostly always parked outside... we really need to find a permanenet solution. Why is there such a lack of product? What do the factories use? I'd like something that lasted 10 years like from factory.
The headlights that I removed from the car were coated with that kit over a year ago and they held up great. I buffed away some yellowing and coated the headlights and they did not discolor at all. Just the eyebrow under the lens was discolored.
@@VehicularDIY Oh ok good to hear! Yeah that eyebrow yellowing is my worse fear right now, because the only way to prevent it yellow is with that coating and don't want to open the headlights every year. Guess I might paint it silver or something when the times comes that it will look really bad. I've got E92 lci headlights seem like a bitch to open as well.
I’ve done many e92 builds but not e90. I really don’t wanna cut my headlight so the heat gun it is
My 2006 e90 325i headlights need replacement. Too dull and dark, I can't see anything at night. (not that I drive it much since I'm always fixing something lol). I'm considering upgrading to brighter LED or other. I've heard of overheating issues with some options. I don't need special effects, just want brighter headlights. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did buy replacement lenses but haven't installed yet... I don't think that would solve the problem. thanks!
So when we going to see some track time with the new turbos and rearend man? As always great work bud
Track just opened again for the season. Soon, I had my tuner make a more aggressive tune. Working out the kinks on that, I also got a Rod Sutphin custom trans tune that I'm trying out.
@@VehicularDIY Yes!! I want to see your review on the Rod Sutphin tune!
@@VehicularDIY can't wait to see this, keep up the great work
Hey wassup brother..my low beams work and my angel eyes work and so does the little bulb that can be removed from the top of the assembly if you pop the hood .. but my projector lenses aren't working at all
great content, what adhesive you used for glue the lens back? Can I use 3M double side tape?
This is looking great! Thanks for the link!
dawg u are a bad ass. Cool stuff
So you have to cut into the lens or housing to get in? There’s no way around that?
Hey hi I’m wondering my led indicator has blown do you have a video showing the change. I can see any videos online for it.
I got the e90 halogen headlights
No angel eyes tried opening it really hard lol
Where did you wire the leds?
you're the man thanks again!!!
Hey,my car is e89. I also want to change the Angel Eyes aperture, but I don’t know what size of aperture i should buy. Is the aperture size of the E series chassis the same?
Thanks! Ive toying with the idea of making my own headlights for my truck. Learned alot from just watching you.
I have the Precision Raceworks halos for my e92. I’ve been lazy to do the install. Why didn’t you black out the chrome? Looks good though for sure.
Thanks, I liked the idea of leaving some contrast.
dope content bro!
What size are the halo rings 120mm outer ?
How do you change the turn signal on this headlight and what bulb does it use???
Looks mean, man. Nice job.
Does anybody know where to get carbon brows or should i just black out the inside completely?
Is somebody know dimesion of angel eyes on depo headlight..live in croatia and have small space to ask somebody usualy uor people don't know dimension..thanks
where did you get the led rings from?
Hi, do you have a link for the rings? Thanx in advance.
How to get rid of headlight gap
How do I complete such a process for an e82 with factory halogen
Nice work!
will this work with pre lci xenon?
Can you make a video on how to dechrome it too?
Wow those look nice! I was thinking of doing bayoptiks but its pricey!😬
Another great Video. I would have loved to see you opening a Headlight that still has the proper BMW Sealing though. I´ve heard that its a much bigger task to open them up without breaking something. I really want to blackout my Headlights as well. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Yeah my original intent was to pull the lenses from this set and move them over to my existing housings so they don't end up looking all hacked up but I've had these for like 6 months and never found the time. I'll see if I can find the time and maybe do something a little more extreme to the original headlights.
Were did u buy ur afs head lights?
since you installed led rings did you change the halo bulbs if so which ones do you have?
The LED rings actually sit on top so there is no halo bulb being utilized anymore.
Vehicular DIY I cant seem to find the halo rings anywhere at all and does it matter if it’s compatible with xenon or not or if its from 06-08 sedans im not seening any 2010 made by them. but if I put the rings on top and have the oem halo lights which is amber I should prob switch them to led right?
Finally!!!!!!
Hello , can you help with a schematic for adaptive ? I did the retrofit on e90 2011 and the adaptive is not working. Change frm with frm3 ahl, but also is not working.
Did your car come with adaptive from the factory?
@@VehicularDIY No, it came just with bi-xenon.
Please size for halo Rings or Link
Super Job
Je voulais savoir le prix du phare je suis intéressé
That tool is awesome I have to get get one now lllol.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've NEVER liked the eye brow on these lights, so I'd leave it off. Also, don't even understand going through all of this and putting round halo's back in. I'd definitely take this opportunity to put hex halo's into it. But to each their own...
I dont have an E90.... I got an F30, why am i watching this? lol
heatgun, about 10mins to remove lens clean...
20V developer wont really do anything in my opinion. Maybe you shouldve gone for a 40V
Lol Brassiness is like my arch nemesis I bet if he put some wella T-18 toner with a cap full of 050 on that thing it would have worked miracles 🤣🤣
Just bake the headlights at 225 for 8 minutes and pull the lense off.
Would you consider doing mine for me?
Why cant you sell me some for my e93 ): I'd pay top dollar
I've heard the E92 and E92 headlights are glued together using the softer glue and are much easier to open up? Might be worth looking into if you're thinking of tackling this yourself.
i say FAIL!
Wow great good work ,, looks shit....
videos are okay but your voice is not very tasteful
Where did you get the angel eyes from?
where did you get the led rings from?
They came with the headlights and I just repaired them but you can search for DEPO UHP LED rings for E90.
