I haven’t really unlocked my video on the R5 because I was a little intimidated and all you heard was about overheating. I shoot photos mainly but I used to do hybrid. Thankfully after seeing this I’m feeling comfortable to head on out and pick up a nice rig like this. Thanks! Great info. Definitely subscribing!
So happy to hear! The R5 is such a great photo camera, and you can also get some really stellar video from it too, once you get a handle on it. Welcome to the channel, and thanks for the comment!
@@DeafDirector 100% I love it! The only issue is once I have it rigged like that idk how doable photography is going to be at the same events I record at 🥲
Great advices and well put together. The cage that you have on the link looks different from what you have on your video. What is the cage model# you have on the R5?
The FX Lion Nano 2, is a great choice. It is small and easy to work with and it has a USB-C port that can power your camera without the need of a dummy battery. amzn.to/3C2k9xL
@DeafDirector thank you very much. Question however. Does tye canon need a 7.2V? Would the Type-C port provide the correct v? Do I run any issues you think? Thank you love your channel.
For those looking to purchase the cage and handle, Amazon or something changed with the link or manufacturer. The handle is not compatible with the cage linked. Small rig may have changed the design. The cage in the video is still available though. I ended up returning the handle for the handle that fits the cage in the link. No big deal.
Hey man, awesome video! The NINJA V has absolutely saved the Canon R5 for me. You did a great job explaining why each accessory is useful 👌. Have you considered using a coiled HDMI cable? They look even neater :)
Thanks so much, Patrick. I actually do have a couple of coiled HDMI cables, that I use. The one reason why I tend to use uncoiled cords is that I often jump on and off a gimbal and the coiled cords can sometime add tension between the gimbal and the camera. But you are right they do make things look nice and neat. Thanks so much for the comment. Have a great day!
Hey Tomer, the best results I got were 24fps, CLog3, IPB-light, NO CARDS IN CAMERA, recorded externally on Atomos Ninja V. I have actually had so many people contact me specifically about 4KHQ that I am currently making a new video where I dive deeper into the overheating of just this mode. So please stay tuned.
Noob here. Do you not find the need for a gimbal when you do your video? I have a Ronin S, but very little experience with any of it and I assume that set up would be too heavy to use with the Ronin S. Maybe that was not a wise purchase. Looks like a great set up you have there
Hey Jacob, I actually have used my canon R5 with the Ronin-S numerous times, they are a great combo. It is a fair bit of weight, but it is not unmanageable. I would recommend going to the SmallRig site and looking at some of their attachments for the Ronin-S Those things can really help you unlock the full potential of the gimbal with your R5. Welcome to the game and have fun shooting!
Where do you plug your Rode mic in to the R5 when you're using the small rig hdmi clamp? The clamp seems to encroach into the mic and headphone input area that prevents using those ins/outs? thanks
Hey John, it's a bit tight, but if you move the R5 mic cover out of the way, you can hook up your Rode mic when you have the HDMI clamp attached. The key is making sure you loosen up the mic cover before you put the hdmi clamp on because it is almost impossible to loosen it once the clamp goes on. I pretty much leave my mic cover open and loose because of this and only close it if it looks like I'll be dealing with inclement weather. Good luck!
Thanks, Bryan, great videos, and really informative.
Amazing Videos, really helpful!! Thank You so much. I was so confused what to buy, you made it easy!!
Excellent... video... great COntent.... Thank you.
Outstanding job Bryan, thanks for such a quality presentation and wonderful information.
Another great video! Thank you!

Great recommendations and very helpful that you showed it off on video
I've been finding myself also using my r5 as my primary camera for videos
It's really an amazing little tool

@@Mike0193Azul I've found that the cage I use has not inhibited my photography at all. Good luck!
DUDE, watching your channel is costing me soooo much money. :) Great list. I like the way you spell your name as well. (the right way)
Ha, ha! I am so well aware of the draining money spigot! Thanks for the comment, Bryan, and have a great day!

Great advice please keep bringing these great videos.
Thanks, Sohail!
Do you use some kind of stabilizer or "steady cam" device for moving shots?
great video
Hello, love this channel. What would you recommend for an vmount battery for the r5?

Can u share what is the exact settings you use to record HQ Mode to the ninja V so the camera not overheating after 30 minutes?

Your videos are too quality to not have at least 100k subs by now man
Ha, ha, don't I wish. Maybe you can help spread the word. Thanks for the comment, it made my day!

why doesn't small rig make a cage that will accommodate the R5 with a grip?...does anybody else besides kondor blue make one?
Do pros really have camera monitors that fall off? lol. They're not pros:) Thanks for all of the insights.
