I just want you to know that every time I see a new project farm video it's the highlight of my day, and me and all my friends watch it and talk about it.
    A few thoughts:
    1. I love my Milwaukee tools, but somehow I like it when the cheap tools beat the pants off of them.
    2. I watch every chainsaw related video twice. I do tree service work part time and can't get enough of that stuff!
    3. I'm always impressed by how clever the tests are. Are these industry standard tests, or is this just pure farmer ingenuity?!
    4. My life is materially better, as I've bought many items that got good reviews and was very happy with them.
    5. I used to make fun of my Ryobi loving friend, but I may be becoming a convert.
Great job, and can't wait to see what's next!

There's also the problem of random loading success/errors. If you took the time to hold the bread in place as you lower the arm you can move that 'too cold on the bottom' heat bias up making for even better results.
I have a 4 slice toaster oven that reliably sees 2 slices come out photo-perfect in around 5-6 minutes but 4 slices are a huge compromise of quality and speed adding as much as 2 minutes and requiring very OCD tile-flipping to avoid heat patterns.

Yes, that's always been my complaint with this style of toaster. I grew up in a large family and gave up on toast for this reason. I once worked for a company that provided a toaster that worked on a conveyor belt principle, it did a far better job than any of these toasters. I really liked that you could butter the bread before you put it in and it would emerge as utter perfection.

I just bought a Proctor Silex 4 Slice Toaster with Extra Wide Slots for Bagels, Cool-Touch Walls, Shade Selector, Toast Boost, Auto Shut-off and Cancel Button, Black (24215PS) it cost me $31, but I see it's at $39 now, still a great deal at that, it's all even browning both sides, has the nice slide out crumb tray like the ones you've shown. The auto shut off is so that if a piece of bread gets stuck, it still shuts it off so you don't have a charcoal slice to pull out. The Toast Boost is just that it lifts it higher so it's easier to get the toast out. It's 1300 watts, I was a little wary as my previous Proctor Silex was not great from the beginning, this one I got is great and it was a good buy. Mine browns like the SMEG does, but at a whole lot cheaper. I'm watching your video to see how you test, great video thank you.

3 years ago the YT channel Technology Connections made a really good video about a toaster from the 50s or so, the Sunbeam Radiant Control toaster. It's so interesting to see something like that which was almost the pinnacle of perfect toast making compared to these newer ones... if the ingenuity and craftsmanship of that toaster was implemented today I can only imagine how perfectly our toast would be!

@@Birb_of_Judge I always find it fasvinating when a solid technology dies out because of cost... I'm sure the reason an old stock unit is only 110v and over $100 is because of lack of supply or care about the product, but having watched the videos on this particular toaster it really did have some interesting features that didn't exist before or after, and I find that to be a shame. Variety is the spice of life, and it trickles down into devices made and used over time. I always hate to see a practical or quality concept discarded because of price or lack of interest, these things could always prove useful in the future of humanity.

The best toaster I can think of is a Sunbeam Radiant Control toaster made from 1948 to 1996. Automatically lowers the bread, uses a thermostat to “see” how toasted the bread is (darkness just sets the thermostat to a higher temperature), then gradually lifts the bread as soon as the thermostat detects the darkness selected. Only thing is, doesn’t work with bagels since the slots are on the smaller side, but most bread, waffles, pop tarts aren’t much of a problem.

You'll get one side toasted and the other side soft and steamy. Makes a great sandwich for biting into the soft outside but a crisp inside, or just a unique jam/nut butter spread you can also fold in half, similar to those old kids cooking toys.

Love your shopping comparisons Mister, a needed great service, very scientific and thoughtful and thorough. What a good job!
I am interested in understanding the dizzing array of car maintenance products found in an AutoZone or O'Reilly's automotive parts store.
Specifically could you do an analysis of different leather seat cleaning and preserving products, and the ceramic spray wax products and glass cleaning and wheel rim cleaning products.
Thanks for helping with understanding what value you get for the dollar.

Great video! For any bagel enthusiasts here hoping to find the best bagel toasting appliance, it's none of these. No countertop toaster can touch the bagel toasting performance of a Breville Smart Oven. Perfectly golden brown on top while still soft, but warm, on the bottom. Exquisite! It also toasts bread very evenly, but the bottom will have rack lines. I got rid of my basic toaster because the toaster oven is so much better at doing that job.

We are still using a toaster my bride's grandmother used since the 50's, a Sunbeam Radiant Toaster. You just put the bread in the slots, they lower and raise on their own. We have never needed another toaster in over 50 years.

Yeah, and it's pretty consistently portrayed as a food nerd's recommendation.
Another would have been to pick up an old Sunbeam Radiant toaster. They measure the doneness by temperature with a thermostat, which may be apples and oranges compared to the number systems of modern day toaster, but consistency would be comparable.

Excellent job! I think this is the first time I've seen a toaster review that actually dialed in the toaster settings. It's shockingly common for reviewers to just pick a setting, then claim a toaster is bad because the bread was burned or undercooked.

You never cease to amaze with the quality of your testing, but also what you test! It's nice to know that there's a toaster that exists that just nails it, even if it costs $220! Would love to see Dash brand products in the lineup of future kitchen appliances, they tend to be very cheap but basic and do one thing pretty well. An air fryer video would be really amazing! They're apparently not very consistent with each other
