@Retrofitlab.com I wanted to thank because I learned so much from your videos. A few months ago I did a Morimoto d2s 5.0 retrofit on my 2017 Honda Civic Si and it came out amazing. Baking the headlights in a box was very helpful to me. :)
We would recommend to use a bi-xenon or b-led projector instead of plug and play xenon or led bulbs.. :) for example the Aharon optimus TR. For the H4 bi-xenon function on a projector we have H4 cables with outputs to the ballasts and projector for hi/low www.retrofitlab.com/en/aharon-optimus-tr-bi-xenon-projectors-1.html
good to know i got these same projectors and my housing is the same size as that civics good thing i have a dremel too to make it fit😂 now i just need to make a box like the one you made
Solo haces modificaciones a autos del 2005 hacia arriba , qué opinas de modificar las luces de autos antiguos y darle otra vista Por ejemplo los Toyota ,Nissan , etc
Hi, the box is used an oven to heat the headlight. A large cardboard box is used where hot air is blown through a heatgun. Make sure that the hot air of the heatgun does not blow directly to the headlight, place the headlight on small elevations so that the air can circulate properly through the box. We use a setting of 300 Degrees Celsius for 12-18 minutes / 1st lowest setting, depending on the size of the headlight.
Stick the housing in the oven at like 250 for about 7 minutes will have the same results. Just be sure you put the headlight on a couple 2x4s and make sure it’s in the center of the oven.

My Friend, How are you? Do we paint the inside of the headlight with heat resistant paint? For example, we will paint it black! How is it normally done? Can you please explain? Thanks
Usually it can be done with normal paint from a spray can. But you can also use heat resistant paint, this usually has a nice flat finish. The pro's also use automotive grade 2k spray spaint.
Hi there, I take it the projector uses a h1 bulb, which is single filament for headlamp only, so where's the main beam? Or does the projector take a h4 or h7?

2 questions. Can you adjust the projectors once installed? Im doing this to a truck in the future and it will be epoxied in unlike your video which is screwed on. Are there little adjusters on the projector itself?
+Retrofitlab well its gonna suck having to epoxy the projector right the first time. I have to trim the back a bit since it wont screw like yours. i found the how to nut didn't mention adjustment.
i have a 97 civic that im looking to retrofit seeing as how i have to get new headlights for it to pass inspection what kit would you recommend for my car and i live in the US thanks in advance
I got quoted for a D2S 4.0 , halos, painting the housing and the harness/install done for $800 on a 2007 Honda Ridgeline. Would you say that price is pretty steep or justified? I understand as a business you want to make twice the materials cost but it still seems like a lot.
Hi there thanks for the video I'm very interested, I read in the comments that it comes with a h4 adapter so it's plug and play but what about the ballast?
In general, 2 methods are used, with both methods, be careful and patient. Method 1 is using a regular oven. Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. When ready, switch off the oven and place the headlight inside. Make sure that the headlight is not touching any metal of the oven by placing a cloth over the grid, for example. Leave the headlight in the oven for 10-15 minutes before opening it. If the headlight kit is not yet soft enough, put the headlight in the oven for a bit more time. Method 2 is suitable for larger headlights that do not fit in a regular oven, or if your lovely wife absolutely does not allow car parts to be baked in her kitchen.
Hate to bother you again, I wanna know what cylindrical item did you use where you placed the heat gun? And what items did you use to hold the headlight in place inside the box? I saw previous comments where you’re emailing people about how to make the box can I get those instructions too? Highly appreciated thanks :)
Hello, after alot of research I heard I need a projector and to retrofit unless I want to blind everyone, and I dont want that! What size projector would fit a 2003 honda civic ex?
hey buddy, what's the stock bulb type fitment? I see that most projector uses H4/H7 adapter before screwing the projector into place, what if the bulb type is not H4 or H7? Mine is H11.
Retrofitlab thanks for replying so quickly. is it because the bolt thread is not long enough to be out from the housing? or the diameter is not big enough?
We don't advise to use LED bulbs in the projector because light output and pattern is usually quite bad. Examples here; www.retrofitlab.com/blog/h1-led-versus-xenon-mini-h1-projector/

Centering rings are helping with something ? How adjust the projector ? Thanks and sorry for my english !
But for 2.5 inch are necessary ?
please do this on a set of 04-05 civic headlights, i and i’m sure others would be happy to see one
Maybe in the future :-)
Its the same exact thing for 04-05

What about the wireing? Can you show us that/explain?
does the factory alignment for headlights unit still work when the lights are retrofit with projectors? and if not, how did you align them
It can be adjusted like before. That's the entire reason for mounting it in the existing reflector.

Hi Retrofitlab, random question but what size is that box you use to heat the headlights in? Great work by the way you make it seem to easy.
Does the 3.0 will fit on the Em1 headlights??
And what size of bulb fit the 3.0?

At what temperature you heated the light and by using what

Can u plz do a vid how to wire them in
its literally plug and play with the morimoto kit
How you know from which side is the projectors left and right?
The projectors are identical, there is no left or right side :)
Does the blackening have any effect on the projected light?
For low and high beam it won't, because the Aharon bi-xenon projector is used and the reflector part isn't used to reflect the light anymore.
Thank you for the reply.
I thought so but I wasn’t sure. You cleared all my doubts.
Thank you.

so you can't use regular halogen H4 bulb with a lens, can you?
No, the bi-xenon projector can't hold H4 halogen bulbs. The high beam function is handled by the projector instead of the the bulb.
What bulbs are used?
i have a em2 do you guys sell the kits?
can you use 2.5. mini set on 1998 civic
