Actually, on this song it is a bit similar to JP (Page with his '62 blue Strat he played on their last LP together and on tour towards the end) . However, This Entire LP is a Masterpiece !! Still going through UA-cam to find the live versions with Mr. Blunt on guitar.... Sometimes, younger "Stand ins" can be seen on "Lip Synced" TV versions.... Sadly this was a thing, even more so now... Zep #1 Band, Rock band, Hard Rock band , Metal band, yes, they invented it you Metal heads... They wear the crown !!!

You can hear elements of that sound on In Through The Out Door (Carouselambra might be the best example, but also in Fool in the Rain and All My Love to some degree). They tend to be overshadowed by Page's heavy blues riffs, though. I always thought the end of Led Zeppelin simply allowed Plant to take his style in the direction he wanted unencumbered (and Page for that matter, if you listen to Outrider).

Nonetheless, I stand by my statement that it is a little-known album that has never received the attention it deserves. I consider it as good as (or even better than) one or two zeppelin albums (and zeppelin put out almost exclusively steller albums). Contrast Pics@11 against zeppelin 4, which holds a 24x-platinum status currently. Now, of course zeppelin 4 is an absolutely brilliant album, but I would argue that pics@11 is also an absolutely brilliant album too--and not to a 2400% lesser degree.

Pics @ 11 should get much more love and sales, so in that regard it’s overlooked. I love Page and he deserves every accolade he gets, but he rested on his laurels while Robert began creating new music within two years of Bonham’s death and is still creating great music to this day. P.S. I saw Plant in 1983 in Memphis just after Principle of Moments was released. Phil Collins was touring drummer.

I wish I could have seen them while John Bonham was alive...but at least I have their albums. In my opinion, pics@11 is (by far) Plant's greatest album (and he's got some good ones). The writing and the vocals are superb, but the music is every bit as good. Just like the zeppelin albums, pics@11 lacks nothing--every song is excellent. Here's to better times when music was better too!

I was only 15 years old when I saw this video on TV in Venezuela in 1982. By the way, 90% of Brittons, Led Zeppelin fans detested this album, because it didn't sound like the legendary band. For us,, Robert supporters it's a 💎 GEM! My favorite album, my favorite song 🎵 Rock will never die.
I'm in the States and the same age. Huge Zepplin fan, but this "new" sound, lyrics and style captivated Americans. And it still sounds as fresh as when it came out 40 years ago. What a legend!

I remember buying this at a department store in Albany, OR with my best friend Mike Dempsey. We were on our bikes summer before 7th grade. Went to my Aunt's house to try to listen to it because it was seven miles back to our neighborhood. Stole some cigarettes from Plaid Pantry on the way to her house. Got there it was locked but we could get into the garage. Beer fridge! perfect summer day of misspent youth. Talked to Mike today about this album and that day. He had been listening to Plant's release after this one, PoM. Asked him, "remember how everyone used to tell us when we were kids not to waste it, you only get to do it once?" Told him I didn't believe it then and still don't. Long live Rock!

If I may, Robert Loved Elvis, Robbie reminds me a lot of Scotty Moore, I don't think there was any pressure from Robert, and he was Jamming with Phil Collins as well, he was probably a well established Musician in England. The record Company would have preferred Zep Four but got Presence with a shadow of In Through The Out Door. I think this Video was a Mistake, to omit the Band completely, it's like he is trying to out do Robert Palmer and Bowie. Very cooperate and almost like a Head Shot, not a painting.

Your earliest solo works with Sir Blunt are Unparalleled Masterpieces on every level for Compositional and Sonic Perfection BEYOND WORDS sir. They are one of the few things that made/make life incredibly wonderful for me as a young teen and to this day.. I studied your works, as others surely must have, because they ARE WORTH STUDYING TO THIS DAY as one might study the "Classics" of antiquity. Bible study and "Plant study" are top priorities.

The guitar solo on this track by Pagey is off the hook for his style in recording as he enters the musical field of Adrian Belew and FRIPP. Those notes on this cut just shred . I heard alot of negative reactions on this when it came out but I loved it. It was so refreshing after the tired sound that was the last 3 Zeppelin albums (Presence, In Thru and Coda).

1982: i had opportunity to listen two great album - "Pictures at eleven" and "Deathwish II". Both great in their owns terms.

The guitar solo on this track by Pagey is off the hook for his style in recording as he enters the musical field of Adrian Belew and FRIPP. Those notes on this cut just shred . Don't think I've ever heard him wang bar notes especially to the point of going off key like Beck ! Come on Jimmy, put out another album that sounds like this song with this Guitar ! Yah !
