No, they can't work side by side ... Jane can do almost anything to seek revenge other than killing inocent people .. Even when he pointed the gun toward 5 suspects to find out who is Red John , he only wanted to kill Red John and have zero interested in killing other members of secret clan
Kirkland was willing to kill all suspects to get the job done..jane wanted to kill only rwd john (yes it didn't work out his way all the suspects did die eventually but that was orchestrated by red john) Kirkland and jane both devoted their lives to find red john and kirkland was able to find about the blake association before Jane thanks to his homeland resources that's why he didn't put anything on servers that he found from jane cabin because he knew there were corrupt officials higher up
Nah, he was like Lorelei, both selfish and egotistical, they wanted their own personal revenge. Even Jane knew he needed help, those two thought they could do it on their own.
To me he would have been a perfect Red John, he was so mysterious and idk, his face make me feel like he was a bad person and his voice, omg, is so soft like red john's
Would it not have been cool if Michael would’ve been Red John? Think about it. He could have posed as Bob and shook Patrick’s hand at some point. Plus, Bob never found his body. It’s nearly perfect.
@@lithium23 I don't think he met him until the second episode and they played rock paper scissors but didn't shake hands, I'll have to go back and re-watch the first episode and see if I'm misremembering
Really don't see why they can't work together to hunt down RJ. They could have at least work until they find out RJ's identity THEN decide who pulls the trigger. I don't think they would have disagreed on torturing the guy so why not have an extra pair of hands?
But that's the thing. Kirkland didn't care to find out who it was, he would've just killed every suspect on the list. Jane couldn't let innocent people die so he wouldn't tell him the names.
I can see one Big reason: Kirklan is crazy and doesn't have limits to what he is willing to do to get his revenge, not to mention, he is unstable, Jane on the other hand, has limits and things he won't do to get his revenge.
You do realize that once the real red John is and was found the over all long running reason for the show ends with no reason to continue on. I rather enjoyed the character Simon Baker helped create, and would have watched more Mentalist just for the unorthodox methods portrayed on the show.
They built ideal character to be revealed as perfect Red John and they got him killed and after that we found out that mighty Red John is in fact lousy sheriff 😔
can anyone explain why patrick didn't give any names to Kirkland? he knew he wasn't red john, so why wouldn't he get out of there and give Kirkland something to work with?
Both wanted the names for themselves. They lived to catch and kill red jhon. In a way that list was everything for them. As only one of them could get that revenge satisfaction. Plus both are lonewolf type of guy. So it is consistant.
There's also the fact Kirkland would of just killed everyone on the list and be done with it. Jane just wanted Red John, Kirkland wanted any possibility of Red John
And, just to mention: a man with no regards of killing 7 (probably random) people in order to kill the man he wanted to kill wouldn’t hesitate to kill Patrick if he had what he needed from him. Especially after he was forced to reveal his „secret identity“. The moment Patrick would have given him the list Kirkland would have killed him, and I‘m sure Patrick knew this
I hate to say this but the guy they picked to be red John was not the strong figure that it needed to be. It could have been like janes twin brother who was just as cunning as Jane. Lol I’m just saying it kinda disappointed me. Still love this show tho ❤️
Kirkland was a scary character
'I didn't bring you here to talk, please tell me who the suspects are'
A very intense scene because Patrick is trying to read him, in order to diffuse the situation.
Kirkland knew too much, if he could work with Jane. that would have been awesome

Honestly, almost anything would be better than what they did tbh.
@@qutuz9495 Forreal that end was like mehhhh
Exactly
Can't be. Michael turned from a weak willed alcoholic to a highly capable serial killer, sounds like impossible transformation to me
I had hoped they kept Kirkland for a while, made him a wildcard against red john for jane's team or whatever 🤷🏻♀️
I wondered what important intel he had, that he was going to share with Jane, as he said in the SUV
0:45 And with Jane involved, ,all seven suspects are dead...
Not Smith
Did anyone point out that Kirkland didn't shake Jane's hand until after Red John's mistress was already in prison, so shouldn't have been on the list.
The same can be said for Sheriff McAllister. I think some of the handshakes in question occurred off screen.

Why is no one talking about this perfect act from guy who stares kirkland
I don't care what anyone says, Kirkland was the best option to be Red John
Lol he shouldn't even be on the suspects list,Kirkland and jane shook hands when loreli was in prison, she couldn't have ever seen them shaking hands
True, but that’s what made him such a good suspect-he was very suspicious, but turned out not to be Red John because Red John was just that good.
@@gsp2176 maybe not see but red John (Kirkland) could have told her while she was in prison that he met Patrick
Or his twin brother. Part of me was hoping it would end up being Rigsby. Someone who actually fooled Jane.
Not really. Kirkland didn't keep a cool head. RJ always did.
For a long time, I suspected that he was RJ
