I’ve been gaming way to hard with gyms closed and finding myself jumping from dopamine activity to the next... as an enfp, I agree some structure feels good and creates a sense of freedom :)
After watching this i discover that i do that since one year. I deleted all social media apps and only focus on my studies and talk to my friends each other day and it really helped me getting shit done.

I have been considering whether to return to my video games or not,i found routine is truely helping me be more calm and peaceful.i will be going off Netflix for this month,that much i do know.I usually end up desiring a nice bath before sleep,so i have a minimum of 30 minutes off screens in the evening.Dopamine is now something i need to look into more,haha!
These are some great suggestions Dan! I've recently shut off the news, left Twitter, and knocked my Facebook friends down to 85 to cut out the excess noise in my life.
I have realized I don’t have enough dopamine, first if I don’t feel enough happy, some days I’m not happy at all. I wake up at 3 am for my work and that right away makes me sad. I don’t listen music for few weeks and then when I finally remember to listen to it, I think why I didn’t do it earlier. So I need dopamine intake, like more dopamine aka to listen music more often.
I see that many indicators that dopamine fasting is definitely a need, at this point in my life and not just a good idea. I think that turning electronics off at 8pm would be a very important discipline to adopt. Every platform has some form of algorithm and it really feels like they hold back on the fascinating content until after 11pm. Whether they do or they don't it's that one more click to check notifications on one more platform... and then I am online until well after midnight... and my brain won't cycle down to sleep... and then I am justifying getting up later & later and productivity is lost and more and more chaos encroaches. You know what? it is almost 10pm here and the next video of your fab content will be waiting tomorrow. I will organize some thoughts on paper and try implementing this good habit right now. However, since so many necessary tasks are done online, I may be making a list of productive activities to tackle online tomorrow.
Oh my gosh seriously this is so true, winter was such a struggle even with how short it was. Glad we all survived it. We can change the world, we are unstopable now

I've been in a slump for 3 weeks because we went to visit family in the country and I was overstimulated with chickens and other animals and things to do. We live in a city apt and don't see that everyday. This sounds awesome way to reset. Will try starting now😊💖💖
I love to sew, and I recently spent time cutting out patterns on a 3 hour car ride and I felt amazing after doing that. I wonder if it was the focus, almost like meditation. Although I was listening to music at the time. It still helped.
I first heard about Dopamine detox 3 years ago Since then I had many experiences with it I find it to be amazing. I still search for the best formula for me.

The timing for this video is perfect. I’m going to try this on Presidents’ Day. I already have the day off anyway, and usually those Monday holidays end up being pretty quiet for me. We’ll see how it goes.

Awesome!! I love your approach. While I take dopamine detoxes occasionally, you've one-upped me by doing it every week (I don't do them regularly)! I wish I did them more. I'll have to think about how I can do that. I really like what you were talking about with the rules moving forward. I find that I can push myself really hard and achieve great results, but after a little while, I do need a little more flexibility, even if only for a day or two. Keeping Friday as a free-for-all sounds like a really great move. You'll have to let me know how that goes because it often catches up to me at random times! I can't seem to plan the days that I don't plan - they just happen spontaneously, sometimes frustratingly, othertimes not
You can just plan one or two months ahead. Like every other weekend or whatever works, and commit to that for 2 months. After two months review what are the improvements, what can be adjusted and then add another weekend for the next two months, or even every weekend (or whatever other day works) and do it regularly. I'm sure you'll see great results out of it and it will help you overall.
I think I've had this for 18 months. One day hmmm. I think I'll have to go camping for a week. Gonna go crazy - even more than I already am with the nothing done for 18months madness.

Oh dear, Dan, you did not properly disclaim that watching this video might hit too close to home. It is a bull's eye hit. I am mortally wounded. Ever since a trip to Jerusalem in 2005 where I spent the sweetest Shabbat with a Jewish family, I have been intrigued with how life-changing that practice was for enriching relationships and making time for what was important. So I think I will pretend I'm Jewish; on Friday when the sun goes down I will turn off all my electronic dopamine dispensers. Then at sundown on Saturday I will return to civilization as it now exists. I will need to inform my daughter or she will call the police.

I did a two-week juice fast. At the end, cooked veggies were heaven. The principles here seem to make sense.

For me dopamine is the only thing that keeps me in focus. For example if there is no music I will not concentrate there is no chance for it.
