Hi Zach, Thanks for the video, but I have a problem. I followed your instructions to the letter, but when I enter "ssh pi@raspberrypi" in Command Prompt, I get the response "ssh: Could not resolve hostname raspberrypi: No such host is known" Would this suggest a fault with the board, and the wifi is not functioning? Okay, so I had this in my watch-later list for a while and I finally got around to watching it while I was eating breakfast this morning. It must have originally come up in my Home feed, because I'm not subscribed (well... I am now), so I hadn't seen your channel name. I was just scrollin'. Anyway, when your console came up (7:30) with path 'C:\Users\zburh>' I had to pause it and type this. I wish I could paste a screenshot in here to prove it, but because of how similar our names are spelled, my user home path is 'C:\Users\zbuhr' - that's gotta be some kinda cosmic coincidence. Maybe the algorithm knows more about both of us than it needs to know. edit: Also YES - you just saved me a ton of hassle in my setup process for rPis that I deploy in batches. I had no idea about that secret admin setup mode. Thanks 🍻
I've followed you step by step and everything went fine until at the command prompt after typing in ssh pi@raspberrypi and ENTER it did not ask me for a password. then it said: ssh could not resolve host name raspberrypi: no such host is known (I did use the default host name also) Don't understand why it's not asking for a password. Can you please help. Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the video. In order to control the Raspberry Pi with SSH , does the Raspberry Pi need always to be plugged to the computer from where we are controlling it ?
how does it "boot up" exactly? Do you need to plug it in, or what? I have followed the steps, used the name I gave it in the "advanced" setup when trying to SSH into it, and nothing. I get "no such host is known" I have the pi plugged in.
@@zachburhop2032 Ahh, yes. Alas, I was using the password to log into the router instead of the network password. Great video on Latest Rasp Pi setup method! I’ve been attempting to setup my RP 3+ wirelessly exactly as instructed over the past 2 weeks, using different network and password combos, without getting SSH access via the terminal CMD! Have been on phone with my internet service provider for hours several times, with 0 results! RPI ‘Octopi’ never appears on accessible device list on network! Using CANA wifi fob in RPi on all usb slots and testing same slots with wireless mouse confirms connectivity! Anyone else having similar issues?

1. The default password no longer exists as of April 2022, one must be configured in the imager now. 2. local domains are easy, but bad practice for a tutorial. You should explain how to use nmap to find the pi on the network, or the routers admin panel. Not everyone has the needed program to resolve (Avahi IIRC) local hostnames, thus IP being more reliable.
