Notes -- The great ballad from Led Zeppelin IV, Going to California. I recorded side two in its entirely, and then cut the separate tracks. I'm working to bring down the volume levels on my needle drops, so the musical fidelity is retained without becoming harsh or distorted. I used to aim for a -3 db peak volume, but now I'm using -6 db.
If you're looking for a Pechkam cut of this album, remember to search the run-out grooves on the record. Look for "Porky" or "Pecko Duck." This is the best and most dynamic Zeppelin you'll ever hear.
The turntable is my dependable Sony PS-X5 Direct Drive, and the phono cartridge is a Grado Red. The phono preamp is the Musical Fidelity V-LPS (w/PSU), and is connected to a Marantz 2235b stereo receiver.
