Hey bro, do u recommend a 150cc as a starter bike? I havent ride anything like a bike but ive been as a passenger and obviously rode cycles as a teenager, then i got my first truck but having something that i could work on by myself, a bike or a small car sounds amazing, but im afraid of the injuries i could get from the bike, what do u recommend?
My first was a 96 katana 600, & im actually still working on getting it running. I got it for an amazing deal because it was a complete no start as the owner is a pilot and hadnt had time to ride it since he bought it so its in great condition with low miles..
@@Santanabat so the few times I’ve had it running properly it’s beyond amazing!! It literally sounds like a racing bike & they’re great because the power isn’t immediate it builds up in the rpm’s. Now the only reason mine is in & out of my shop often is because it sat with fuel in it for 23 years straight before I bought it which degraded all of the carbs & DESTROYED the gas tank even though it only has 1,400 miles on it & since its sooo old you can’t find new parts only equally used ones. So id recommend getting one already running perfectly or maybe a slightly newer one that may have new replacement parts. I’m ase certified but the tech on my 96 is sooo old I still struggle & find myself doing hours of research.
I started riding on a Harley-Davidson FLHT, touring style, motorcycle as an adult over 20 years ago. I learned on what I ultimately wanted to ride. Not a starter bike then upgrade later. My son is learning on a Kawasaki KLX230s dual sport because he is only 14 years old and restricted to a motorcycle 250cc or less.
I started on a Vulcan 900 a few months ago and I love it. The problem is that I'm already extremely confident with my riding abilities and Im THIRSTING for a 600. I never wanted a cruiser but I came across a fantastic deal on the vulcan and snatched it. Some advice Id give to new riders is just get what you want.
You oughtta mention the honda rebel 300, i literally just bought it yesterday and didnt even have my permit to drive until today. I took it out and practiced with a couple friends, within a day im already taking it down state routes and the only issue im having is stalling a lot (working on it), id say its a great beginner since it has power but its not too much power, plus it didnt break the bank!
Hey Spunk, been watching your videos for a minute & just wanted to let you know that you are doing a great job! Keep it up 🤙🏽 PS, I’ve been riding an R3 for going on 7 years now & I’ve decided to upgrade. Can’t decide between a GSXR or an R6. What are your views on these bikes?
First REAL bike besides dirt bike, I was 17. Traded my 98 King cab Nissan 4x4, (which was like new AND 4 wheel drive, and that sparkly all blue) for a 99 Honda super hawk 990 v twin, yellow. I wobbled around on my first ride just trying to get er straight then launched it.... lol felt like that feeling when your on a roller coaster and it just drops. Well it all depends on your budget. I really wanted a gt500 continental from RE. I’ve had a bunch of kawi’s - those concours are great bikes! Wouldn’t mind one myself.
Also - it’s kind of unfair for you to start with that bike. You’re supposed to first suffer with barely having storage for a pair of gloves like the rest of us 😂
@@loubrew80304 months later and I’m mastering my bike! I can get knee down now too. How’s riding for you? I want a Ninja myself just can’t choose which one!! And I love all the space on the Connie, I don’t plan on ever getting rid of it.
