I decided years ago that I just don't do things that I am going to resent. If I agree to do something, it means that I cannot then resent the person or the action...because I agreed to it with full knowledge of how it would go, and knowing that I am responsible for managing my own expectations and emotions. Accepting absolute responsibility for my choices simplifies everything.

My family has had to cut toxic people out of our lives in order to simplify and have peace in our Ives. Sometimes we have no choice for the sake of our sanity.
    It’s unfortunate but true.😢

You're lucky to have the options you mentioned. Doing work you like, deciding who you spend time with, only thinking about positive things, etc. So many people work crappy jobs & have to deal with the public, which can be horrible. Or they live in a dysfunctional family situation & have abusive relatives.

    • @MiaDanielle
      @MiaDanielle  Рік тому +10

There are lots of resources online, and in person that can support change. Change starts with you. If you want to do work you like, explore how you might be able to. I wasn't always in this line of work, and didn't exactly love all of my jobs. But I used intention + decision to make a plan to get closer to what did light me up. It wasn't instant and it certainly wasn't overnight.
Deciding who you spend time with is something you can intentionally create, but if you cannot get away from certain family members or work colleagues that drive you crazy, you can create boundaries on how your relationship work.
Building a life you love is built overtime and is ongoing. It's not a destination that you reach. I put in the work daily to live this life, and it isn't always glamorous... take me, several months ago, with a purple crier newborn, exhausted and up nearly around the clock, 2 teenagers, a business and needing to navigate a new normal...
You can decide. And it can be different. It just requires patience, a plan and some work. What is possible for me, is possible for you 🥰

Love this video. It really spoke to me - every one of them. Now that I''m retired, I have been in this state of stillness. However, I must be careful not to allow others to direct my retirement life with their agenda or make me responsible for their life ( keeping them on track of their workouts, stressing over whether they are prepared for their engagements). I'm trying to gracefully say "No thank you". I will be listening to this video again.

Keto is our lifestyle. In fact it saved our lives. We actually call it, eating real one ingredient food. It has become routine and easy. At first it was "different" but now so easy. I dont do a lot of new recipes though. Once we found our core ones, it's fun sometimes, but very rare, to add a new one. 😊😊

Drink your coffee girl! If people have a problem with a cup in a video that's not on you, they can find "anti-cup videos" or whatever floats their boat elsewhere. Unfortunately, some people pick apart everyone that shows up in front of them. Your videos are you, and the ones that enjoy your content will watch you not caring about if a cup is in a shot or not. Just keep spreading your bit of positivity in this world one video (and sip☺) at a time.

It's not always an easy road to get there; people around you can take so much out of you without you even realizing it. Alternatively, when you have the ones who love and value you around, they can bring so much to your life. :)

Some people think that "acceptance" means taking crap from the people or events in your life but, that's not true. Acceptance is taking people and events at face value and deciding how you're going to deal with it. You have created your lovely bubble through acceptance and that meant letting go of negativity and all that emotional baggage and people that don't bring joy. I'm grateful for this honest and thought provoking video and I thank you for it. I'm on this journey myself and sometimes the people around you don't understand the struggle as well as the peace of mind this journey entails. God Bless you and your family. Be happy in your bubble, screw the trolls. :)

I am minimalist for decades now , easy cause I move a lot , I do not have white walls or furniture, I have thrift finds , a couch , a chair , one is blue , one is green , I got a Persian rug and a small table , a couple photos , idk why people run out and get brand new , unsustainable furniture in white , with cats , dogs , kids , in my case , grandkids , my thrifted stuff in colors that can handle dirt is so much simpler and non stressful .

Hey Mia, this video was outstanding! Thank you so much for this amazing input.
I could write a lengthy comment about which sections resonated with me, but I don't have any insights to add today, just agreeing with you a lot and wanting to let you know that some points really made me think about my own attitudes and habits. Today you have opened the road to growth for me.
And please girl, drink your coffee and take care of yourself. You look exhausted in this video, which is expected with you having to manage teenagers, a baby and a business. I appreciate all your efforts and love watching your videos. One creator I follow doesn't post a video in the first week of the month anymore, and her video quality improved so much. If you need some downtime, consider something like that. We all will be here when you return.

1.Don't engage or even make eye contact unless you have to or it comes with a pleasant voice and genuine smile.
    2. Just in cse you need them.....Practice comebacks that pack a Megaton impact insult that takes a couple seconds to get .
    3. Beat a hasty retreat while they're unraveling the package you've delivered.
Laugh uproariously at what their reaction might be while you make your getaway...safely in your car

I would say, don't let that be a reason that you do not pursue your dreams. There is a reason that THAT specific desire is planted within you... and after a while, you just realize there are trolls that show up everywhere people try to do something that lights them up (like literally everywhere.)
There are a lot of unhappy people in this world that instead of finding happiness try to find it in putting people down- which just continues to perpetuate a cycle of unhappiness.
At the end of the day I choose me 🥰 I hope you start that youtube channel! Thanks for the kind words-- the world needs more of THAT!

Getting rid of most of my social media except for my UA-cam channel that highlights my tai chi work and WhatsApp to connect my family around the world, that was the smartest thing for me and what a time waster it was … I so much more enjoy talking to people in real life or chatting over zoom or Skype .

I love seeing people enjoying their coffee, being a coffee lover. Even if the to are drinking tea or coke in their mug, I assume it's coffee and enjoy it vicariously then go make myself one. Ok, going to watch the vid for why I clicked on it now. ( Some people judge based on themselves. This person who said you look like you're holding it for an aesthetic might not like coffee and us rationalising your drinking it. Or, the might have used props in their own videos. It's a reflection on them, either way

I got to give up the alarm when I retired but I had to have it before then. Now if I have to be somewhere early and have to set the alarm I just hate it and I hate it so much that I usually wake up naturally before it goes off just because I don’t want to be jolted. I gave up watching the news about nine years ago, I don’t need all that negativity in my life. I do see some current events on iHeartRadio or Facebook but I don’t have to read the story if I don’t want to read it. Sometimes I’m a little out of the loop because I don’t hear about something for several days but so what. The only thing that may affect me personally is local weather. I do have a local television station app on my iPad so I can always check a little local weather or anything going on locally that I may want to attend. I don’t mind drama if it’s someone else’s drama. Sometimes it can be entertaining.

I will say i loved the video, but the last point made me chuckle as it came off a bit hypocritical maybe? : you say that there are people that walk around in their victimhood and cant take control of their lives, but then also say that you got out of that mindset by remembering that people are multifaceted, i think that should also be applicable to the people that are in their Valleys versus their Mountains

Yah. As a survivor of some pretty egregious abuse as a child (how can a child be blamed for what messed up adults did to them and how can said perp NOT be blamed for the wrongs they did to that child)? But mostly for me it’s like that took a long time to heal. I think we can do both tho. We can hold wrongdoers accountable AND eventually get on with making our lives so much happier…regardless. There is no way I could ever be truly and deeply “happy” if I didn’t put the blame back where it belonged. This is also so Bcuz when a parent abuses their own child, the child very often takes that blame as their own. Many times entirely unconsciously, not even realizing it well on into adulthood. So this kind of heavy weight needs to be removed from off of their backs Bcuz it is not for the child to have to carry.
It’s like if someone ran over my legs being irresponsible with their automobile. And then if I had some injuries as a result of that which maybe affect my ability to walk for the rest of my life. You just can’t make any of that “unhappen” tho. All you can do is find your best life and learn how to walk better with said limp….which wasn’t your fault and which clearly was Bcuz of their poor choices. The worst tragedy would prob be crying about it for the rest of your life and never trying your damnedest to get out of that wheelchair and to keep seething at those people who were allowed to drive a car. Blame very simply cannot “evaporate” once a wrong has been committed. That is so Bcuz what they did caused a chain of events that could not be prevented. So as the saying goes. God give me the serenity to know what I can change and what I cannot change. Well that got long. Lol.
And Bcuz yah. I DID cry over my own lameness for a long time. And I needed that time and space to grieve over my losses and pain. And I also needed help, healing and rehab. But there did come a time when I needed to stop crying about it and see how I could make my life better. You just can’t rewrite history. You can’t say presto and make what happened just go away. All you can really do is write a better present and future and accept that your injured legs are still there. But still you can ask yourself also….but where do I go from here? What can I do to improve my situation DESPITE what they did to me?
So I guess my main point prob would be that there is no such thing as “no fault insurance.” Everyone is accountable for whatever they did. So I can still make a better life for myself WITHOUT having to do away with putting blame where blame belongs. It’s sometimes harder to accept that they really ARE to blame than it is to lie to ourselves about it. Mainly Bcuz we don’t want them to be that or for it to be true. But self honesty imo is the best policy even when it’s bad news you really don’t want to hear. Bcuz I wanted my parents to love me. I wanted happily ever after and for all of us to be ok. (In my case I didn’t want said parent to be a narcissist but the shoe still fit them and facts are still facts). But sometimes that just isn’t true reality and is just not possible. But now I’m ok. So much better than way back then. I know I have to just go make my own happiness no matter what kind of horrible history I wound up with. And yet as a matter of factual record, yes they technically ARE still to blame. But I also can move on regardless. Once you heal I guess it kind of just becomes a moot point tho. And yet there is no true healing without first understanding who was responsible for what.
My ten year journey. Finally now seeing the light of day. Lol.
