Thanks. this was so much info in one space and so many words. This doesn't simplifiy! Word clutter? Less is more, who can remember all this stuff in one session???
I decided years ago that I just don't do things that I am going to resent. If I agree to do something, it means that I cannot then resent the person or the action...because I agreed to it with full knowledge of how it would go, and knowing that I am responsible for managing my own expectations and emotions. Accepting absolute responsibility for my choices simplifies everything.
My family has had to cut toxic people out of our lives in order to simplify and have peace in our Ives. Sometimes we have no choice for the sake of our sanity. It’s unfortunate but true.😢
Re: the coffee - It only looks false if it IS false! I love sipping my tea or coffee along with you, and a few others I watch. It's lovely and comforting.
You're lucky to have the options you mentioned. Doing work you like, deciding who you spend time with, only thinking about positive things, etc. So many people work crappy jobs & have to deal with the public, which can be horrible. Or they live in a dysfunctional family situation & have abusive relatives.
There are lots of resources online, and in person that can support change. Change starts with you. If you want to do work you like, explore how you might be able to. I wasn't always in this line of work, and didn't exactly love all of my jobs. But I used intention + decision to make a plan to get closer to what did light me up. It wasn't instant and it certainly wasn't overnight. Deciding who you spend time with is something you can intentionally create, but if you cannot get away from certain family members or work colleagues that drive you crazy, you can create boundaries on how your relationship work. Building a life you love is built overtime and is ongoing. It's not a destination that you reach. I put in the work daily to live this life, and it isn't always glamorous... take me, several months ago, with a purple crier newborn, exhausted and up nearly around the clock, 2 teenagers, a business and needing to navigate a new normal... You can decide. And it can be different. It just requires patience, a plan and some work. What is possible for me, is possible for you 🥰
Love this video. It really spoke to me - every one of them. Now that I''m retired, I have been in this state of stillness. However, I must be careful not to allow others to direct my retirement life with their agenda or make me responsible for their life ( keeping them on track of their workouts, stressing over whether they are prepared for their engagements). I'm trying to gracefully say "No thank you". I will be listening to this video again.
There are other content creators that have their tea or coffee. People are mean. I am like you so much. I hate drama, alarms, the news and early morning appointments. I love your channel.
It's true that not everyone is nice and some people just have abrasive or antagonistic personalities. Those people bring out the worst in me, but we can't let them dull our sparkle!
Love your energy and your relaxing voice. Keep on doing what you are doing. I find it interesting that so many (myself included) are wanting to revert to a simpler time: less social media, less complex diets and less product consumption, etc.

Wow... I just had this exact same realization today, and now I'm watching your video! Thank you for sharing this today:) Lots of great points here.
Love, love, love this video. I never think anything of people drinking tea, coffee in videos. I struggle with patience too. I pray everyday God will give me patience lol. These are really great ideas. Thanks again!
Your lists are always long and comprehensive. As someone with ADHD it takes a lot of mental effort to even get started with listening but in the end it’s always worth it. Thank you!❤
Don't know why I came across your channel today, but I sure am glad I did. I am considerably older that you are, but not wiser. I wish I had been open to all these suggestions about simplifying my life sooner. I am glad you did, and I am certainly glad I found your video, which has opened my eyes to many such problems that could have been avoided. Thanks
I love that you have long term good health on your list. I'm 72 and wish I started soon. But, it's never too late and the sooner the better. Good for you and drink that coffee!
Thank you Mia. I found this video very helpful. I wish I had been as calm and wise as you when I was your age. I'm grateful to be there now. Bless you❤
I relate to #5 I've noticed the older im getting the worse this one is. My mood can change on a dime. My husband and I are having alot of health problems and I think it is to much for me.
❤thank you for sharing such in-depth truths and information about what you’ve quit to simplify your life. I am an active 70 year old and I have made these changes in the last 5 years done 90.5% of the things that you mention to simplify my life and I applaud you for taking the initiative at this point in your life. you will, for sure live a healthier, more resilient and self sustaining life as you journey on and again thanks for sharing. It’s really hear felt. I stumbled onto the channel and it was really engaging. Thanks again.
Keto is our lifestyle. In fact it saved our lives. We actually call it, eating real one ingredient food. It has become routine and easy. At first it was "different" but now so easy. I dont do a lot of new recipes though. Once we found our core ones, it's fun sometimes, but very rare, to add a new one. 😊😊
Drink your coffee girl! If people have a problem with a cup in a video that's not on you, they can find "anti-cup videos" or whatever floats their boat elsewhere. Unfortunately, some people pick apart everyone that shows up in front of them. Your videos are you, and the ones that enjoy your content will watch you not caring about if a cup is in a shot or not. Just keep spreading your bit of positivity in this world one video (and sip☺) at a time.
Love this and 100% agree! So happy you are finding your balance and happiness in your life. It's not always an easy road to get there; people around you can take so much out of you without you even realizing it. Alternatively, when you have the ones who love and value you around, they can bring so much to your life. :)
It’s great to hear you are living a happy life Mia ❤. I’m still strugling on a lot of things, but I keep on smiling and trying to get there 😂. I love Vera’s channel too.
I don’t watch the news either! My parents always think it’s so bad and I need to know what is going on… I’m completely happy and I’m aware of the important things of what is going on
The news will be there there tomorrow, and the day after that... and after that... it never stops 😅 I think in order to protect ones sanity and not live rooted in fear, it's an important tip!
I love your haircut. I watch Simple Happy Zen too also. I don’t believe in weaknesses. There are just things that we are not as strong in. Your expression at 8:40 🤣I stopped using an alarm years ago. I didn’t like being jolted awake either. I’m an early riser and my body knows when to wake up. 5:30 a.m. is sleeping in for me so I wouldn’t need an alarm anyway.
Amen to no alarm. The key is to go to bed early enough that you naturally wake up by the time you need to be up. *Morning sunshine* really sets the circadian rhythm.
Some people think that "acceptance" means taking crap from the people or events in your life but, that's not true. Acceptance is taking people and events at face value and deciding how you're going to deal with it. You have created your lovely bubble through acceptance and that meant letting go of negativity and all that emotional baggage and people that don't bring joy. I'm grateful for this honest and thought provoking video and I thank you for it. I'm on this journey myself and sometimes the people around you don't understand the struggle as well as the peace of mind this journey entails. God Bless you and your family. Be happy in your bubble, screw the trolls. :)
I am minimalist for decades now , easy cause I move a lot , I do not have white walls or furniture, I have thrift finds , a couch , a chair , one is blue , one is green , I got a Persian rug and a small table , a couple photos , idk why people run out and get brand new , unsustainable furniture in white , with cats , dogs , kids , in my case , grandkids , my thrifted stuff in colors that can handle dirt is so much simpler and non stressful .
I just wanted to say I've been watching you for a little while now and always love your videos. But this one has been by far the best in my opinion . It was so full of little bits of wisdom, and inspiration! I just want to thank you for always bringing such a positive outlook on things , and ways to improve at it too! ❤you!
You are awesome, Mia. Your content is on point and so relevant. I'm glad you've dismissed people's idiotic comments about your coffee. Negative people exist everywhere. I truly believe they carry a demonic vibe. It had to be said, lol! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
Beautiful video, thank you! I loved the last section about stop blaming others and take thevreins. So empowering and a great reminder taking responsibility for my life, happiness and stability. Thank you! New listener and really enjoying your videos so much! You remind me of one of my sweet friends, too, so a nice plus in addition to your well-thought-out content. 😊
I find grocery shopping online to be super stressful and always more expensive because the shopper will invariably get the wrong thing entirely or the most expensive version of the right thing for several items in the cart. I much prefer to be in control and am always happier with the result.
Hey Mia, this video was outstanding! Thank you so much for this amazing input. I could write a lengthy comment about which sections resonated with me, but I don't have any insights to add today, just agreeing with you a lot and wanting to let you know that some points really made me think about my own attitudes and habits. Today you have opened the road to growth for me. And please girl, drink your coffee and take care of yourself. You look exhausted in this video, which is expected with you having to manage teenagers, a baby and a business. I appreciate all your efforts and love watching your videos. One creator I follow doesn't post a video in the first week of the month anymore, and her video quality improved so much. If you need some downtime, consider something like that. We all will be here when you return.
Thank you for the love and support! And for looking out for me, I appreciate it 🥰 I've definitely taken a hard look at certain things again this year to see where I could simplify more, so I could live more!
Goodness, I absorbed a number of those messages. Some of those other messages I was immune to as a result of who I am. It was good to observe my reaction to your list to see which ones I already do and which items I would be wise to move toward. Thank you for posting this.
What works for me. When dealing with people. 1.Don't engage or even make eye contact unless you have to or it comes with a pleasant voice and genuine smile. 2. Just in cse you need them.....Practice comebacks that pack a Megaton impact insult that takes a couple seconds to get . 3. Beat a hasty retreat while they're unraveling the package you've delivered. Laugh uproariously at what their reaction might be while you make your getaway...safely in your car
Such a great list Mia!! I often want to start a youtube, but worry about the comments, i do NOT have thick skin lol. If you cant say something nice dont say anything at all...right??!! Anyway, so many of these hit me for sure...such truth and vulnerability in this list. Thank you for all your fantastic videos!!
I would say, don't let that be a reason that you do not pursue your dreams. There is a reason that THAT specific desire is planted within you... and after a while, you just realize there are trolls that show up everywhere people try to do something that lights them up (like literally everywhere.) There are a lot of unhappy people in this world that instead of finding happiness try to find it in putting people down- which just continues to perpetuate a cycle of unhappiness. At the end of the day I choose me 🥰 I hope you start that youtube channel! Thanks for the kind words-- the world needs more of THAT!
I thank you for your kind response. I may try recording soon and see how it goes. Not sure if my current phone can record good enough videos, so I will see. Thank you again ❤
❤always love a coffee with you ☕️ I have my mug in hand, cheers!👍 😜 I view one of the best things about 2020 was learning the joy of shopping for groceries and clothes online! I’d been hesitant about buying anything online but now I love it.
I have been following your channel for awhile. I have always loved your information and perspective. I haven’t watched in a bit and I wanted to let you know your video quality is looking awesome❤
Thanks for sharing. I quit a lot of these things gs too. Great that you are doing it so young. I waited till my 60s to quit. I would have benefited by doing it sooner.
Good lord. I’m sorry, but after that comment, I would have 2 cups of coffee , one for each hand! Or better yet one of those hats that you can put your coffee and a drink through the straws!😂 priorities, people. Good grief.
You know... I was a little bit worried about how the coffee thing and the comments comment might land, but the amount of support in return has been amazing 🤩 I might just have to bring out the double coffee one day or even just let the coffee have it's own spotlight more frequently 😂
@@MiaDanielle Yes! Picture this: we start with a zoom out gaining focus on: coffee. Then, as the finisher, instead of fading to black we fade out on: coffee 😂
Getting rid of most of my social media except for my UA-cam channel that highlights my tai chi work and WhatsApp to connect my family around the world, that was the smartest thing for me and what a time waster it was … I so much more enjoy talking to people in real life or chatting over zoom or Skype .
I love seeing people enjoying their coffee, being a coffee lover. Even if the to are drinking tea or coke in their mug, I assume it's coffee and enjoy it vicariously then go make myself one. Ok, going to watch the vid for why I clicked on it now. ( Some people judge based on themselves. This person who said you look like you're holding it for an aesthetic might not like coffee and us rationalising your drinking it. Or, the might have used props in their own videos. It's a reflection on them, either way
I got to give up the alarm when I retired but I had to have it before then. Now if I have to be somewhere early and have to set the alarm I just hate it and I hate it so much that I usually wake up naturally before it goes off just because I don’t want to be jolted. I gave up watching the news about nine years ago, I don’t need all that negativity in my life. I do see some current events on iHeartRadio or Facebook but I don’t have to read the story if I don’t want to read it. Sometimes I’m a little out of the loop because I don’t hear about something for several days but so what. The only thing that may affect me personally is local weather. I do have a local television station app on my iPad so I can always check a little local weather or anything going on locally that I may want to attend. I don’t mind drama if it’s someone else’s drama. Sometimes it can be entertaining.
I will say i loved the video, but the last point made me chuckle as it came off a bit hypocritical maybe? : you say that there are people that walk around in their victimhood and cant take control of their lives, but then also say that you got out of that mindset by remembering that people are multifaceted, i think that should also be applicable to the people that are in their Valleys versus their Mountains
Yah. As a survivor of some pretty egregious abuse as a child (how can a child be blamed for what messed up adults did to them and how can said perp NOT be blamed for the wrongs they did to that child)? But mostly for me it’s like that took a long time to heal. I think we can do both tho. We can hold wrongdoers accountable AND eventually get on with making our lives so much happier…regardless. There is no way I could ever be truly and deeply “happy” if I didn’t put the blame back where it belonged. This is also so Bcuz when a parent abuses their own child, the child very often takes that blame as their own. Many times entirely unconsciously, not even realizing it well on into adulthood. So this kind of heavy weight needs to be removed from off of their backs Bcuz it is not for the child to have to carry. It’s like if someone ran over my legs being irresponsible with their automobile. And then if I had some injuries as a result of that which maybe affect my ability to walk for the rest of my life. You just can’t make any of that “unhappen” tho. All you can do is find your best life and learn how to walk better with said limp….which wasn’t your fault and which clearly was Bcuz of their poor choices. The worst tragedy would prob be crying about it for the rest of your life and never trying your damnedest to get out of that wheelchair and to keep seething at those people who were allowed to drive a car. Blame very simply cannot “evaporate” once a wrong has been committed. That is so Bcuz what they did caused a chain of events that could not be prevented. So as the saying goes. God give me the serenity to know what I can change and what I cannot change. Well that got long. Lol. And Bcuz yah. I DID cry over my own lameness for a long time. And I needed that time and space to grieve over my losses and pain. And I also needed help, healing and rehab. But there did come a time when I needed to stop crying about it and see how I could make my life better. You just can’t rewrite history. You can’t say presto and make what happened just go away. All you can really do is write a better present and future and accept that your injured legs are still there. But still you can ask yourself also….but where do I go from here? What can I do to improve my situation DESPITE what they did to me? So I guess my main point prob would be that there is no such thing as “no fault insurance.” Everyone is accountable for whatever they did. So I can still make a better life for myself WITHOUT having to do away with putting blame where blame belongs. It’s sometimes harder to accept that they really ARE to blame than it is to lie to ourselves about it. Mainly Bcuz we don’t want them to be that or for it to be true. But self honesty imo is the best policy even when it’s bad news you really don’t want to hear. Bcuz I wanted my parents to love me. I wanted happily ever after and for all of us to be ok. (In my case I didn’t want said parent to be a narcissist but the shoe still fit them and facts are still facts). But sometimes that just isn’t true reality and is just not possible. But now I’m ok. So much better than way back then. I know I have to just go make my own happiness no matter what kind of horrible history I wound up with. And yet as a matter of factual record, yes they technically ARE still to blame. But I also can move on regardless. Once you heal I guess it kind of just becomes a moot point tho. And yet there is no true healing without first understanding who was responsible for what. My ten year journey. Finally now seeing the light of day. Lol.
So you're giving people FREE info and they're criticizing you. They are so nasty. I'll counter with compliments. Thank you for doing this video. Good and useful info. I appreciate you! You have a nice background in your video. Great job with the lighting in your video. Your skin looks great.
There are certainly a lot of trolls out there... and it seems the more popular the video, the more they come out. We need more internet positivity than hate. Thank you for choosing kindness 🥰
Mia, you drink that coffee! Coffee is awesome ❤. Also I wanted to offer you a way to simplify your email. An influencer told me about the Roll Up app and it is life changing. Maybe it was you? Lol. It connects to your email and unsubscribes you from everything you don't want in your life anymore. It actually works! 😊
Thanks for the tip! For overcluttered inboxes, it's a great solution... I'm fortunate that my inbox only gets emails that need replies at this time, I keep it pretty organized 😉 and unsub from anything that no longer resonates with me. The coffee is good, definitely helped me feel more alive as I put this video together!

This was very helpful, things I hadn't thought of!
I just wanted to say I've been watching you for a little while now and always love your videos. But this one has been by far the best in my opinion . It was so full of little bits of wisdom, and inspiration! I just want to thank you for always bringing such a positive outlook on things , and ways to improve at it too! ❤you!
Wow, thank you!
Very helpful Mia. Thank you so much. Have already done some on my minimalist journey and definitely giving me though for the rest. ❤🇬🇧❤
Thank you Mia for these tips. Especially the analogy with the fisherman hit home. Thank you for inspiring me🍀. Love from the Netherlands
You are awesome, Mia. Your content is on point and so relevant. I'm glad you've dismissed people's idiotic comments about your coffee. Negative people exist everywhere. I truly believe they carry a demonic vibe. It had to be said, lol! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
I really like that a lot of these are "mental" simplification. I've decluttered the physical stuff but also need to declutter the mind. Great content!
Sometimes the physical part is easy... but if we don't tackle the mind, it just comes right back! Thanks for watching 🤗
Bring what you like in the video! This is your video and your platform!
I’ve just shared this video with my sister and close friends…have a. Great day!
Thanks for sharing!!
I am loving your attitude!
This is a fantastic list. A lot of these, I have even discovered myself!
This was amazing! Thank you for it!
There is a reason that THAT specific desire is planted within you... and after a while, you just realize there are trolls that show up everywhere people try to do something that lights them up (like literally everywhere.)
There are a lot of unhappy people in this world that instead of finding happiness try to find it in putting people down- which just continues to perpetuate a cycle of unhappiness.
I quit Facebook when my first son was 4 months. He'll be 10 in August. Not once have I regretted it. (I don't have IG, TT, SC, etc)
Amen, sister. Thank you for sharing. I’ve already done several but you gave me some other great ideas.
Glad it was helpful!
❤always love a coffee with you ☕️ I have my mug in hand, cheers!👍
😜 I view one of the best things about 2020 was learning the joy of shopping for groceries and clothes online! I’d been hesitant about buying anything online but now I love it.
Love that!
Exactly what I’m doing. Really freeing!
Revenant, thoughtful, and organized. Thank you! I’ll check out more of your content.
Have a great day!
I have been following your channel for awhile. I have always loved your information and perspective. I haven’t watched in a bit and I wanted to let you know your video quality is looking awesome❤
Awesome! Thank you! 🥰
Your videos are very inspiring! I usually pause and go to do something different in my life. Thank you.
Hi Mia..thank you for sharing your positive thoughts. It's refreshing to see and hear you. You had me with the fisherman story. Thank you.
You do you.
Phenomenal video with lots of encouraging and valuable information. 👍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing 😊
My pleasure 😊
I am on the same boat as you and really appreciate the share. ❤
I'm glad it connected ❤️
Thanks for sharing. I quit a lot of these things gs too. Great that you are doing it so young. I waited till my 60s to quit. I would have benefited by doing it sooner.
It's never too late 🥰
New to the channel. Thank you, truly wise stuff. ❤
Welcome! Happy that you are here 🤗
I love this! Thanks for sharing your perspectives.
This is my first time watching one of your videos and I'm totally captivated and watched it twice..Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing :) Glad you enjoyed it!
This was helpful to me. Thank you. By the way, I’m 71 yrs old and still learning.
Me, too.
It's never too late to learn or try something new! Welcome 🥰
great list. love that it covered personal and business. well done for simplifying..and drinking your coffee 😉😉
Thanks so much! 😊
Good lord. I’m sorry, but after that comment, I would have 2 cups of coffee , one for each hand! Or better yet one of those hats that you can put your coffee and a drink through the straws!😂 priorities, people. Good grief.
You know... I was a little bit worried about how the coffee thing and the comments comment might land, but the amount of support in return has been amazing 🤩
I might just have to bring out the double coffee one day or even just let the coffee have it's own spotlight more frequently 😂
@@MiaDanielle Yes! Picture this: we start with a zoom out gaining focus on: coffee. Then, as the finisher, instead of fading to black we fade out on: coffee 😂
Thank you. You are absolutely amazing!
Wow, thank you!
This is an excellent video! How to declutter your life.
I am new to your channel, and I’m binging. Absolutely love your content, logic, and general way of putting things. Thank you!
Welcome to the channel! Glad you're enjoying all the videos 🥰
This really helped simplify the topic for me!
This really helped simplify things for me!
Lots of great information, thanks!
Getting rid of most of my social media except for my UA-cam channel that highlights my tai chi work and WhatsApp to connect my family around the world, that was the smartest thing for me and what a time waster it was … I so much more enjoy talking to people in real life or chatting over zoom or Skype .
Intentional social media! When we're using it for a clear purpose and it doesn't suck us in or derail us, there is definite value there.
Going through my own fisherman debate. SAHM struggling with the idea of a creative business or just enjoying the simple life.
Speaking of removing negativity: don’t let anyone other than your doctor dictate your coffee consumption. No one needs that kind of negativity. ☕️
So many amazing gems here!
It's a reflection on them, either way
Strengthen your strengths... I like that.
These were all really good.
Wow, I’m 54 and just realizing many points you’ve made! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I’m new here. I’ve been enjoying watching many your Old & New Videos This week!
Awesome! Thank you for joining me here 🥰
I like this video. Also your hair looks so beautiful. 💯
Thank you!! I thought it might be time to try something new 🥰
If I need a to do list I have complicated or will complicate my life. Say no to actions that require to do lists. Unless you enjoy drama.
Loved this!
Thanks for sharing these tips 😊
Lol.
Very excellent!! Thank you 👍
Glad you liked it! 🥰
Appreciate this message
I need friends my anxiety and depression is very intense lately. It’s hard not working and not having a car…
