I'm rewatching this in 2022. It's so deliciously dramatic! Ryan Murphy is the best. I love that he creates content for actresses in the golden years of their lives.
This is FINALLY on streaming (Hulu). Took a while. Just finished it and it's pretty great. Enjoyed it waaaay more than I thought it was. A lot more depth than I thought it would have. The acting is awesome.

I love these Ladies, they're ALL some of the finest actresses television and box offices have had the privilege to showcase. But none can compare to the iconic and legendary Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon (*with an honorable mention going to Miss Bates)who both seem to capture any role as if they've rehearsed it their entire lives. I am really looking forward to March 5th!!

I appreciate the movie so much more now as an adult, especially the lines delivered by Bette Davis. Imo, FEUD was great! I'd love to watch it again. Too bad it's not on Netflix

These two are really good actors. One, the subtlety is amazing. Two, they're playing icons. Three, they're both at or near 70. Especially Sarandon. Every time I see her, I think, "I can't believe this woman is 70 years old." It's the original film that should be remade. The takeaway from this piece, to my mind, is twofold; women built the film industry and for that effort and incredibly hard work, they were rewarded with a lifetime of loneliness. It's really a cautionary tale on the emotional perils of stardom and the salvation of an unshakable work ethic. The supporting actors are also, excellent. Bette Davis was a much nicer woman. The subtle artistry of Jessica Lange's performance is that she finds the traumatized woman in the wreckage that was Joan Crawford. They're both award worthy. It's very good work and better, imo, than AHS. Way better

I love this fued. I have filled it and researched it. ever since I was young I have watched both stars. I even dressed up as mommy dearest this past halloween. and no one knew who I was!! I spent alot of money having a gown handmade from the bathroom scene to include the hair, face paint, red lips, jewelry etc.. this generation didn't even know who I was portraying! ! they thought I was a lady with white paint on her face. I am so glad someone finally decided to do a show about them so people can know who these amazing actresses were. I was born in early 80s n I'll just leave it at that, but it was my mom who got me into the classic movies!!!

Kristopher Michaels if you are looking for impersonations, then you probably need to look elsewhere. Good acting is about making you believe that the character is real and not just a cardboard cutout copy.
BULL! You can have both and if done well it will not seem like just an interpretation. Look at The movie The Aviator, Cate Blanchett was incredible as Katharine Hepburn in all ways including the voice! So don't make excuses for a lazy Susan Sarandon for not working Bettes voice into her performance. If she was a really good actor she not only would have done it, she would have insisted on it!

Cate Blanchett gave a great performance of Kate Hepburn because she interpreted the character and didn't become a caricature which people without acting experience or abilities are much more familiar with. But each to his or her own.

It really really bothers me that this trailer looks like Bette was the "bully" and the vain one when it was her idea to wear all of that makeup. She wanted to looks "ridiculous".
I think what Bette meant by not wanting to look ridiculous is that she doesn't want her character in Baby Jane to be reduced to a grotesque caricature.
I must say I was surprised. Susan and Jessica wouldnt have been my first choices to play Bette and Joan. I was hoping they’d cast Miranda Richardson, Glenn Close, or perhaps Cathy Morairty as Bette Davis and Sigourney Weaver as Joan Crawford. But boy did Susan and Jessica deliver! I didn't even want to THINK it much less say it, but it's true, there's no resemblance in the slightest. However, I kept thinking I couldn't believe that was Catherine Zeta Jones. She played a wonderful character and she disappeared in the role, but I don't think that was Olivia De Havilland up there.
Ryan Murphy is almost single-handedly bringing anthology series to the front lines of television. It's amazing.

This is a tv show, not a documentary. It’s sensationalizing their relationship just like the tabloids did in the 40’s and 50’s.

I didn't even want to THINK it much less say it, but it's true, there's no resemblance in the slightest. However, I kept thinking I couldn't believe that was Catherine Zeta Jones. She played a wonderful character and she disappeared in the role, but I don't think that was Olivia De Havilland up there.
