We (my brother and I) got some of those gift sets for Christmas: Fisto and Stryder and Skeletor (battle armor) with Panthor was another one. Great video, and you are right! Seeing that new Wishbook come in the mail was such a fantastic surprise and so much fun looking through as a kid. I hope you had a Merry Christmas Dan!
The craziest story I ever heard about the Cabbage Patch craze actually came from my wife. My father-in-law owned his own company and traveled a lot. Anyways they couldn’t find a CBK for my wife so he traveled to Japan and bought one for her because the craze hadn’t hit there yet 😂. I love this whole video dude!
I'll never forget the year I forever dubbed the Real Ghostbusters Christmas. That one was epic. Thanks for the excellent trip back in time. I especially loved seeing all the "wood grain" items. My parents had multiples of all those I think. Such a great era. Merry Christmas to you and yours Dan!
I remember best the Sears Wishbook. I'd get a couple sheets of notebook paper and wrote down anything remotely interesting and its page number, so my parents could find it easily. Always included a pool table, air hockey, and all that stuff. Never got any of those. Of course, my parents do have air hockey now. For the grandkids.
Love the video! I remember going through those catalogs. Nothing more fun than when grandma would say I’ve got the new Christmas catolog’s boys😊 Thankyou for making this video, have a great Christmas!
Thanks Dan - this was tremendously fun, in addition to the strong strong catalogue nostalgia. And ty for a great year of this new toy hunting channel!!!
This is a cool new video. I very much enjoyed it and wish I would have kept on my wishbooks. I had that Tycho glow-in-the-dark race set but they never stayed on the track because they went so fast. I like anything glow in the dark and I'm surprised I actually got it for Christmas. Well my brother and I got it but I played with it a lot more. I sent him the link to that channel that you used for the close-ups and he will be excited to see the wishbooks as well. He's 5 years older than I am. Merry Christmas! Dan to you and yours. Thanks for a year of awesome videos. Looking forward to next year and seeing what you have in store.
Haha! Thank you so much Pixel Dan for this great episode! I enjoyed it to the fullest, between the nostalgia of seeing the catalogs, the memories of everything you said and the review at the end that was excellent, I want to tell you that you made my Christmas happy, thanks again and happy holidays! 🙏
Here in the UK, my household had two catalogues. The Empire catalogue and the Littlewoods catalogue. Which would come out twice a year. When the autumn/fall and winter catalogue came in the post for that year. It was straight to the toy sections. So much goodness in those pages. Sadly the spring and summer catalogue had no toy section worth talking about. I do miss those days.
I had the He-Man sleeping bag. When the insides wore out, my mom stitched in felt so I could keep using it. She did that a few times until the insides were a patch work.
Great video Dan. Funny how the Ice Castle is one of your grails, when it was the bane of my childhood. Turns out my dad (rest his soul) would often cheap out and get my brother and I knock offs or look alike brands (you can see where this is going), and true to form, he did just that when we asked for Castle Grayskull. Imagine my disappointment when the giant wrapped box under the X-mas tree turned out to be the Ice Castle instead. We never got Grayskull because dad said one Castle playset was more than enough :( (Hence the bane of my childhood). Anyways, happy holidays to you and your family!
The Trundaxx is AWESOME! I didn't know that existed either. As a kid, I did get those box sets in plain brown boxes. They were sold in the bulk outlet stores. It was bizarre. What a time to be alive!
Awesome video Dan I’m not really celebrating Christmas this year but it’s ok this video got me hyped for the new year I definitely got inspiration from this video I’m trying to grow my channel as well, and the journey still continues 😀
I had that Tyco RC slot car set and well, much like you with your set, my brother and I didn't play with it much. Also I liked the Trundaxx bit. Maybe it will become to Pixel Dan what Truxton is to Classic Game Room? They both have X in the title! Happy Holidays to you and the fam. :)
11:30 one those kids who definitely found gremlins fun and only learned about other kids being freaked out later. But hey my dad also took me to see NOES in the theater that year and I loved that too
Funny seeing the Atari 2600 and Colecovision in that book considering that 1984 was the year of the BIG video game crash. I got to go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago that year and I saw so many cool video games and peripherals that never went to market...
Ah, the days of catalog circling. I miss those da-...wait a sec. Did you say drinking eggnog out of a moose head cup? What the primus?! I remember a santa or frosty the snowman head cups, or a raindeer/snowman cups. But a moose head cup? Really?? LOL😅😂
@ lol! As a fellow Primus fan you know saying, “Primus sucks!” Is a compliment for them lol love that band! Saw them twice this past year & got tix for next year!
The 2024 Amazon wish book they mailed out wasn't the same as those vintage ones. Just missed the magic. Plus the lack of pricing works against my list.
Paused at 3:01 second, came back after 2 and a half hours of looking through catalogues. It became clear when Mongomery Ward started taking on water because the catalogue just started becoming increasingly more disorganized, mixing toys and clothes? Kids don't care about clothes. 1985 there were 3 and then 1986 there were 2. Seeing Transformers made me want every one. And The Horde shows up, I have no desire to have the He-Man figures except The Horde. I'm sure someone was fired over mixing Super Powers and Secret Wars in 1984 JC Penney.
A classmate in kindergarten had the Cabbage Patch bookbag and I have a guilty memory of tearing the head off it. IIRC it was a total accident (not malicious) and I don’t recall having to pay for it (I think the teacher or her mom fixed it).
The toys never looked as cool as they did.In these catalogs we got them home and the toys were total waste. The catalog made it look so cool. But then when you got up you were like it doesn't look like the catalog
Great video, Dan! I was born in '87 so this stuff was a bit before my time, but the overall nostalgia is undeniable. My vintage MOTU stuff as a kid was all from yardsales, but even I had a couple carrying cases & would love just looking at the artwork on them even back then. I don't think I have the one featured in that catalog though. You mentioning those pinball machines also reminded me that I got a random little pinball machine for Christmas one year (not a MOTU one) so thanks for that. Merry Christmas!
Eggnog..? 😐😐 You drink _Glögg_ and _Julmust_ 😄😉 (Glögg = Heated wine with different "x-mas" flavorings substances. Julmust = A stor of Coke-drink, but more reminiscent of Guinness. Not in taste, but in its look)
Love the unhinged Trundaxx bit at the end 😂 By the power of forward and reverse!
When you cross reference your own book that was gold! 😂
Merry Christmas, Dan! I loved those catalogs as a kid, too! Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
Best. Ending. Ever.
Thank you for this gift of Trundax, great job! It was a funny and entertaining ending to a trip down memory lane.
That ending was epic! I was cracking up so hard! Excellent video!
Trundaxx!? Brilliant! And merry Christmas!
Waiting for your wife to come in, and tell you to go to bed, it's past your bed time. lol
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Awesome job dan and merry Christmas for you

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I think cataloging all the retro turtles for a book is making Dan lose his mind. 😆
Happy christmas and holidays dan stina n family.😃🎅🎄👍👍👍👍

That VHS player on the back of your purchased catalog showcases the greatness of the black wired remotes
Love the video! I remember going through those catalogs. Nothing more fun than when grandma would say I’ve got the new Christmas catolog’s boys😊 Thankyou for making this video, have a great Christmas!

Trundaxx had me dying! 😂😂

This felt like an AVGN episode by the end. That was great. Haha.
Haha! Thank you so much Pixel Dan for this great episode! Awesome Video Dan 😊 Thank you so much for making me happy! Merry Christmas to you and your Family 😊
Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you so much for doing this. So many great memories. Merry Christmas!
Super cool episode 🎉
Man this takes me back. Thanks for the nostalgia video.
Love the Haunted Mansion ornaments on the tree
Ahaha, 😂 ...this video made my Christmas' Eve day! ❤
Merry Christmas Dan!
I have a Trundaxx. Parts to two of them. And they are awesome!.
I own the moose mugs. Love that movie.
I was mad at these catalogs for the longest time!
I never got anything I circled😂😂
but they are fun to look at now.
Having too much fun! 😂
Ah yes, the 84 catalog. There's no way he'll avoid talking about transformers. There's even transformers ornaments on the Christmas tree.
Not even a mention.
@@Thunderwing88oh well. I wouldn't have mentioned them either
Pixel Dan went berserk at the end 😂
20:13 Pixel Dan slowly turning into Mr. Home Arcade.
Very nice 80's style acting you did for your intro 😊.
Have a wonderful Christmastime with all your beloved ones 🎄🎀✨🎁🌟🎅.
....ok I need a Trundaxx now!! 😂😂

Well that escalated quickly! 😳
Had so many of these toys! What a time to be alive! Merry Christmas everyone 🍻
i dont think you should be allowed anywhere near a trundaxx anymore 😭
Hi Pixel Dan Merry Christmas and happy holiday ......cool collection 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😊👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯😎
The 80s....the best toys ha ha. I have the red case. I never even saw the yellow one.
That's a nice house coat 👌
Somehow that Trundaxx bit really reminded me of classic AVGN, such a fun present for Christmas.
Awesome video merry Christmas 🎅
Shout out to the Haunted Mansion Christmas ornaments!! I love them!!!!
9:35 That was me and brothers sleeping bag in the early 90s
20:13 annnnnd it's at THIS point where Pixel Dan's sanity just up and left.
The world is not safe so long as Pixel Dan possesses the Trundaxx.
Awesome video Dan I’m not really celebrating Christmas this year but it’s ok this video got me hyped for the new year I definitely got inspiration from this video I’m trying to grow my channel as well, and the journey still continues 😀
Trundaxx! Forward! Reverse!...😂
Trundaxx Yes!

Are we now going to get an update page for the MOTU toy book, Dan? With Trundaxx?
Funny seeing the Atari 2600 and Colecovision in that book considering that 1984 was the year of the BIG video game crash. I got to go to the Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago that year and I saw so many cool video games and peripherals that never went to market...
Wow, I have the same pee-wee Christmas special. But, my VHS is a variant with a different cover. Also, is their 90's catalogs out there by chance?
What is the moose cup a reference to ???
National lampoon’s Christmas vacation!!
The one Ewok on the left in the lot C in the catalog was never released (next to Teebo), I've been looking for it for 30+ years
Watching he man she ra xmas sp on vhs at mo just re reading your masters guide big book from UK awesome xmas vid 👍🎄🎅
You have the same short nosed Wally World mug I have. NECA makes a version that has a movie accurate sized nose. 😂
Ah, the days of catalog circling. I miss those da-...wait a sec. Did you say drinking eggnog out of a moose head cup? What the primus?! I remember a santa or frosty the snowman head cups, or a raindeer/snowman cups. But a moose head cup? Really?? LOL😅😂
The moose head cup is from national lampoons Christmas vacation lol and Primus Sucks!🤘😂
@F13fan Well I guess I know someone that Primus Claus isn't leaving them any energon goodies in their robo stockings this year. LOL
@ lol! As a fellow Primus fan you know saying, “Primus sucks!” Is a compliment for them lol love that band! Saw them twice this past year & got tix for next year!
in manny countries especeli in europ we selebrate chrismas on the 24th
Yep, that moment when Dan lost it😅
Man, it got dark at the end there 😂 Now I need a Trundaxx
The 2024 Amazon wish book they mailed out wasn't the same as those vintage ones. Just missed the magic. Plus the lack of pricing works against my list.
Power mad He-Man!! Oh no!!!! 😳
I wonder.. Are we going to get a MOTU adjacent/knock-off guide book?
Did Zack Snyder direct the end segment with Trundaxx?! :D That took a very hilariously dark turn!
Paused at 3:01 second, came back after 2 and a half hours of looking through catalogues. This is the video Dan finally lost it. 🤪
Dude you just crushed about $400 worth of vintage toys! 😅
He .mans heel turn
A classmate in kindergarten had the Cabbage Patch bookbag and I have a guilty memory of tearing the head off it. IIRC it was a total accident (not malicious) and I don’t recall having to pay for it (I think the teacher or her mom fixed it).
😍😍😍😍😍
👍👍
If you ever decide to make your own toy line please let me be your first employee❤
Hilarious Trundaxx madness
Did you just go MHA Drunk He-Man on Duncan!????😂😂
The toys never looked as cool as they did.In these catalogs we got them home and the toys were total waste. The catalog made it look so cool. But then when you got up you were like it doesn't look like the catalog

1984 was the first year for the Transformers and not even a mention, come on!
Why did the end of this turn into a weird Phelous review....? lol

Awful , truly truly awful! ❤
Ok now we NEED a video on Trundaxx, no excuses, how did you get it , when did you get it , how did you come by it all of it , we need to know.
Trundax is no match for Battle Cat!
Merry Christmas to you and your family
