The squealing noise when letting off throttle is the alternator saying its heading out. It completely failed a few weeks after this at the track and melted.
When I had my 330ci I replaced my alternator at around 100,000 miles on my second engine, 3 months later the the secondary pulley on the new alternator decided it was just gonna explode 😬 I would buy that car back though if I could haha

Times like this, make putting up with the sometimes slightly annoying chipirng etc you get from having a welded diff on your daily, worth it. Obviously unless you got the funds for an LSD or M car👌
M50 intake manifold is hardly worth the hassle (install, adapters, tuning). Loss of torque down and hp gain in the top end are hardly noticeable. Only reason id do the m50 swap is for turbo cars or to eliminate the Disa or CCV

need more explanation. Motor sluggish or the car overall? At that mileage it would need to be very well maintained or it would be super clapped out. could be Simple as coils injectors wrong oil bad fuel pump bad throttle pedal etc. Gotta know how to work on cars to old an older beamer tho

Kinda sounds like the maf sensor isn’t plugged in. Mine made the same sound when i had troubles with maf.

I have same but in a compact 325ti, I have 2 of them best cars ever made, you can replace most parts yourself

Catless headers, stock mid-section, a d aftermarket straight through style muffler with a lot of packing material inside so its pretty quiet
