- In the sixth episode of IKEA Home Tour, the Home Tour Squad travels to Concord, North Carolina to help the Pereira family with a master bedroom makeover! In this makeover, the Squad sets up a beautiful, organized vanity, as well as a simple workstation that stores the laptop, electronics and chargers. The Home Tour Squad also creates a simple way to display family photographs using a wall shelf behind the bed! They gave the family a padded headboard to help them enjoy family movie night in comfort. Finally, MALM dressers take the place of the nightstands, bringing more storage space to the room.
What's IKEA Home Tour? We'll tell you! We're sending a team of IKEA experts on the road to help America solve real home furnishing challenges, big and small, and transform their living spaces. The Home Tour Squad is hitting the road to assist those who need help with home projects -- from closet organization to living room style upgrades to bedroom makeovers -- and to illustrate genuine solutions that make everyday life at home better. The Home Tour Squad will come up with a plan and go shopping for the furnishings and accessories needed at the local IKEA store. The homeowners and the Squad members will then accomplish the transformation together! Plus, the Squad will film their journey along the way.
The IKEA Home Tour Squad is a team of hand-selected IKEA experts from across the country. They specialize in everything from home design to organization to sustainability at home. Each Squad member comes from a different background and contributes their unique expertise to help homeowners on the tour. Their journey will be chronicled through before/after makeover videos, tour footage, and video shorts featuring design tips and interviews with homeowners. Squad members will also be sharing live updates from the tour via Twitter (@IKEAUSA) and Instagram (@IKEAUSA) with the hashtag #IKEAHomeTour.

Hi Leigh - thanks for asking! The Home Tour squad pieced this together with our RIBBA Picture ledge in white, found here on IKEA.com: bit.ly/ThOlxn. Since every home is different, wall fasteners are sold separately from the picture ledge, but can be found at your local IKEA store. Hope this helps!
IKEA USA This is very helpful, thanks! I can see so many ways I will be using these ledges--not just for pictures. I'm also seeing a display of ceramic figurines, perfume bottles, candles, the list goes on.

How I wish I had IKEA team money to fix up my one bedroom apartment. I'm so unhappy in every room in my space and I know they have things to make my place sleek modern and elegant. Oh well. A girl can wish! Smile!

I really liked the Tisdag wall lamp but that was also discontinued. My son has the KVART but looking for more stylish LED options to wall mount vs. clamp. Hoping that IKEA will soon come up with new LED designs.

That's the trouble with IKEA: every 2 or so years they discontinue pieces (except for the big sellers) and introduce new merchandise. But beware, sometimes they rename an item and it only appears to have been discontinued. (I noticed that with our stuff because everything was destroyed in a house fire just two years after purchase and when I chose to buy from IKEA again I found my bed had been discontinued but, for example, the mattresses were the exact same but had a different name.)
I noticed the dresser is a nine drawer piece. Can I purchase a nine drawer dresser???
Hi Stan! Thanks for asking! The 9-drawer look featured in this IKEA Home Tour makeover was put together with 1 MALM 3-drawer dresser and 1 MALM 6 drawer dresser. Currently, we do not have a 9-drawer dresser sold as a set, but can be created with these 2 products for your own home. Hope this helps!

I AM SO SORRY that IKEA chooses to Makeover at a well-off Family living in a large House..! :( I would rather like to see IKEA Makeover in poor areas ......so we could watch how TRUE joy and greatfullness looks like.
