This song doesn’t even come CLOSE to touching I, Godless, River of Pain, or Satan’s Upheaval. This isn’t visceral or maniacally heavy, this just lacks in more departments than it should.
I’m not gonna say they should hang up the instruments and call it a day, but this song just doesn’t amount to the unfettered vitriol and sheer mayhem that TGD had. It’s different for sure, but definitely not my wheelhouse anymore.
@@audiolord4514 Many would disagree with that, and I definitely am. You guys write the music you want and that's fine, the fans have to accept it and move on- but it just doesn't hold a candle to the old stuff in my books. To each their own.

One of the only ones? Literally most of them don’t use cleans. There’s plenty more bands than the more popular mainstream ones that you listen to. Branch out.
I can think of plenty. Shadow of intent, lorna shore (and he can actually sing) Chelsea grin, signs of the swarm, angelmaker, archspire, distant, Inferi, Worm shepherd, disembodied tyrant, to the grave, benighted (just recently got into them)

Sounds like it was recorded into an empty water bottle, which is not always a bad thing,, but in this case probably not the best choice. But I really dig the writing and the breakdown honestly. Standard UA-cam butcher's sound quality, so I will give ya'll a free pass on that one. Amp up the listening experience for people that are using high quality headphones and speakers.
Edit: after hearing it on the youtube music app the sound quality and mix was so much better

Glad their back and the techy speed was nice but I miss the vocals focusing more on highs. That’s what made this band stick out to me is the sick high vocals. There’s some good stuff in here but I’m sure we’ll hear more variety from them with more releases. New vocalist is sick tho! 🔥🔥🔥

The vocals and lyric writing point to Mark Poida, currently Valley Of Snakes and ex-I Valiance/Aversions Crown. Nobody does vocals or writes lyrics the way he does.

@@drewmeyer700Valley Of Snakes is his most recent work because that's his own band he started after Aversions, 2021. Give that band a few listens and compare them to here. It's definitely him.
A Night in Texas has always had a pretty unique take on the deathcore genre but I can't help but feel like that uniqueness was tied to Ethan Lucas' incredible vocals. Without them, this feels ultimately forgettable amongst the insanely saturated deathcore scene right now. It's not bad, but it's not achieving greatness either.
My thoughts exactly. They went from being unique and standing out, to now just soundlng like any other deathcore band, and it doesn't stand out at all. Such a shame, but bands don't last forever...

The God Delusion is hands down one of the gnarliest and most vitriolic (modern) deathcore records. Ethan picked up the torch and had fantastic highs, but assuming this is Mark, I’m really not sure how I feel about this. Mark is a great vocalist himself but I’m not sure how well his sound molds to A Night in Texas.
@@Lord_Burrito if this is mark i will say hes def improved from the last album. iirc it was all mids and here we hear his highs and tbh they're decent. better to see improvement. But i will say its hard to find a vocalist that molds to ANIT.

I do miss the god bashing themes this band has basically always stayed true to but I still do dig this new vibe/direction. Hopefully a lot more high end vox on the rest of the songs like they’ve always done.
