  • With redemption on my mind, I packed up my Polygon Siskiu T8, and headed west toward Beech Mountain Bike Park to meet up with John ( / callme_the_breeze ) and Shane ( / shanetoomes ) for an epic day on the mountain. In addition to seeking redemption on Copperhead, I also found the courage to give Black Bear, my first bike park black diamond, a go. Let me know how you think I did? 😊😅🍻

You're a couple notches better rider than myself. This gives me a good feeling about visiting Beech! Looks so fun man. And your edit with the bar scene on copper head was so funny man! Keep up the great videos I truly appreciate them!

❤ Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words. Definitely give Beech a visit. I’m excited to level up and give Black Bear another try next time!

Thanks dude. I watched your video and tried that high line out. I wanna try actually hitting the middle next time, but that might be it for Beech this year, so here's to leaving something for next time 🍻

I was going back and forth between the Siskiu and Colossus. Leaning Siskiu… looks like it can handle pretty gnarly trails.

If wouldn’t hesitate taking the siskiu on anything (if my skills where up to it). However, if you frequent bike parks or super gnarly stuff as the norm instead of weekend warrior style, I’d go for the t9 or even the colossus. The siskiu definitely let me “feel” a lot of the trail at rock creek 😅

@@SlowpokeShred Weekend for sure. Flow lines and jumps primarily. Rocks sparingly. 😂

Some of it was certainly gnarly! I do think nearly any skill level could do Green Mamba. Cool way to get into lift bike parks! Keep shreddin and progressing my guy!

Thanks so much! I definitely wanna try to get more humor in my videos. The more laughs and eye rolls I get, the better 😁

Great video man! That black bear trail reminds me of the letter trails at snowshoe.

Oh yeah? I feel like now that I know it, I could get some speed and do quite a bit better. I can’t wait to check out Snowshoe though!

@@SlowpokeShred yeah man. The letter trails are chunky. Too chunky for me😂. I’m hoping to get to Beech next season.

When youre in the steep stuff and start sliding. Just try and stay in control and turn like you normally would. Kinda like when you were a kid and youd slam the back brakes to do a wicked power slide back forth on the back tire with front tire still rolling. As long as that front rolling it will track where you turn. And speed is your friend in those parts where theirs no tire tracks. Theres no tracks because its being boosted. All those rock sections your tired kept getting bucked by would just be boosted over. Im not bashing you in any way at alllll. I looked worse than this my first time at an actual dh park. Beech was my first. All the rocks on green mamba can also be boosted instead of making s turns to get around them or slowly rolling them. I see you boosting some things so i know you can brother!! Its just about letting loose and boosting even the stuff that dont seem boostable. Now yes their are sections that are just straight jank but i saw a lot of sections you couldve easily boosted with confidence seeing some of the other things at the park that you did boost. I like to session a trail. Do those features multiple times until its like the trails you frequent. Eventually the park will be just that. A ride in the park. Things seem scarier cause its a lot steeper because its about dh only but those features are like “local trails” just on steeper terrain and theres a few big ones mixed in on the blacks. But even the two big scary ones you see on the way up the mountain are less than 10 feet in height and have great run outs. I didnt see the road gap when i went this year ill have to look into if they removed it for good or if thats only around for races or what but thats a big one. Its around 20-30 feet in gap depending on how much gusto you hit it with. And its a pretty decent drop like 10-13 feet but even with that one the run out is clear and concise.
