I’ve been doing this since shortcuts were a thing. It’s the shortcut I use the most! Every time I leave work I shout at my phone “Hey Siri, Home ETA” and my fiancée gets a nice alert with a rough time I’ll be home for dinner or in most cases how long until she has to wait until I have to make dinner. (it’s no the 1950s anymore) 😂 either that or she rushes her ‘day boyfriend’ out the door!
Thanks, this is amazing
Thank you for this. Very useful
Thanks.. perfect!
AWESOMEEEE 👌🙏
This is cool!
This was great! Just starting to get into shortcuts. iOS15 beta 2 looks a bit different though. Can you make more with iOS 15?
Fantastic tutorial!
Excellent!
Hi Steve, can I also look for my parked car location in shortcuts? I want to add two parts of my travel home time: walk to the car, and from drive home. Is that possible too? Thanks
H @Stephen Robles even though iam a long time follower of Apple insider, this is my first comment.
I really like your way of presenting videos and voice in a subtle pleasant way. All the best and keep going.
Is there a way to set this so it only runs on certain days of the week? So if you’re going by the same spot on, say a weekend, it’s not sending texts.
• First, LOVE the shirt (and the show) and I own one very much like yours myself - Go Richmond Greyhounds!
• Second, I have a shortcut for bedtime that, whenever my Bluetooth ANC headphones connect to my iPad, a number of things happen (it opens UA-cam, sets the volume to 20% and Brigtness to 0%, and also turns off any lights that are still on, makes sure the doors are locked, and sets my ADT alarm system to “Armed Stay”). All of this is very cool, but for the life of me nothing I do will get it to run completely automatically. It always pops up a Notification asking me if I want to Run this Shortcut. Is there something I’m doing wrong, or is there some command in there that demands an authentication, or something?
• Love what you do here; keep it up; and Thanks!
Greetings, do you have more shortcuts to download? Do you know of any good websites dedicated specifically to iPhone shortcuts? Thank you, cheers
I love shortcuts, please post more videos
How to create a shortcut to disable/enable notifications for a single app?
This is a good one, but my car (Audi Q5) has been set up to do this automatically whenever I throw my iPhone onto the Qi charger.
Can I use messenger instead?
I want to be able to input the time I need to actually BE at work, then have a text sent to me telling me WHEN I need to leave (based on traffic conditions) to ARRIVE on time.
how do you get rid of the prompt to send? so that it sends it immediately all in one action.
Set «SHOW WHEN RUN» to OFF.
@@MrYankosG thank you, that totally works.
is there a way to auto send this .. so i can tap and go
I’m trying to set this up now. I have the shortcut created, and then I can set it up in a Personal Automation. For example: I set the automation for whenever I leave an address at any time, and then search my shortcuts and pick “Home ETA” It SHOULD work, but I haven’t been able to test it.
Set «SHOW WHEN RUN» to OFF.
Can you run it through CarPlay?
You can!
When I try to run this shortcut I get the following error
“Map server error unable to retrieve desired information”
But… Sharing your drive from the Maps app automatically does this for you!
True, but I don't typically open maps / get directions headed home from work. This I can fire off with a tap on my watch.
@@StephenRobles I must be one of those oddballs that uses my maps app everywhere I go… I like to see what time I’ll get to wherever I’m going.
I use Waze more than maps so this will help..👍
I had no idea iPhones had customizability like this.....
This is not automatic though
Yes! I want it to send automatically at a certain location without pressing a button
Same, why do you still have to click Run, it’s still not automatic!!
Set «SHOW WHEN RUN» to OFF.
@@MrYankosGThis does not work. Apple has limits on location triggers and for this particular shortcut it will ALWAYS prompt for user confirmation.
We SHOULD be able to do this with the addition of Pushcut and a spare iOS device set to run as an Automation Server. I was successful once, wanted to switch my spare iOS device and have not been able to duplicate; the automation server still prompts me to hit that send button. 😡
@@DynamiteLotus It certainly works for me! I downloaded the shortcut, populated my data, set SHOW WHEN RUN to OFF and have been using it since (on an iPhone 14 Pro).
I DOTN EVNE WATCH YOU ANYMROE WHY DO I HAVE POST NOTS ON
