Wow, you got a really nice engine view, Mahé is really beautiful with its sea, islands and sunset. You're super lucky to fly on such a rare plane and rare airline. I love the sound of those engines and the see-through cockpit. Thanks for sharing this amazing trip report.

5:11 should be brake test. Since Praslin only had short runway.
It doesn’t have a short runway though?
@@kurtsvensson4362 Praslin airport only had 1405m runway. This twin otter doest not had any trust reverser plus 1405m runway are not enough to stop this aircraft by changing pitch of propeller. Brake are most essential part of this aircraft during landing at Praslin airport. Before takeoff, pilot had to make sure brake are working.
@@LimChingLiang The twin otter does have thrust reversers. It can land on 300m airstrip without issues. 1400m is plenty for a twin otter. Not a short runway....

Did this exact trip with the wife in the late 1970's ! Smaller aircraft though. I sat next to the pilot and had to move my legs everytime he needed to adjust the throttle !

When I was growing up near Saint Louis-Lambert International Airport, Air Illinois flew the Twin Otters to smaller communities in the Land of Lincoln and the Show-Me State. The original Frontier Airlines also flew Twin Otters from Denver to smaller communities in Colorado and Nebraska. You might want to check out Cape Air's Tecnam P2012 Traveller when the COVID restrictions are lifted.

Did the town otter sting your ears on descent cuz it always hurt mine on arrival, such as noisy aircraft but great engine sounds
The 'thing' that happened during takeoff was most probably a run-up. It is commonly done for prop engines prior to takeoff though not every takeoff. Usually it is done if it's the first flight of the day. Some do it at the holding point with brakes on before entering the runway, depending on airline procedures.
While you were in Seychelles did you fly any of air Seychelles a320 fleet? If so I can’t wait for that trip report!

Hey great video covering my country's national airline, be it the domestic route, yeah it is a short trip, Judging by the video it seems it was a while ago, Do hope you enjoyed your trip. The part when the plane went full throttle then they idled, probably an engine throttle check or a mistake by the pilot, normally they stop on the runway, power up with the brakes on i think then quickly release and the plane accelerates and takes off. Maybe a Twin otter pilot can correct me.
