      For most people, there is no specific amount, it's irrelevant as long as they get 50-100g of bioavailable protein a day and that means not from beans or chickpeas but from eggs, meat, dairy, or fish.

      @@MetallicAddict15I can answer that. To get a lot of protein from plants, you need to eat a shit-ton of it. With meat, you don't have to. 4 medium sized eggs alone only has 22g of protein. To get near to 100g you need to eat at least 16 eggs per day. And eggs are are packed with protein. So yeah, it's hard to find protein from vegan sources.

Its something thay they grow up believing, and its truly difficult to get these people to understand how a "second opinion" from a different professional is the only way to truly start figuring out your health.
    Also, when it comes to nutricion, you can really become very well informed, as long as you follow the scientific consensus. He could either take B12 shots or megadose B12, which is easier (and cheaper) to do via supplements than eating meat. In fact, many people with pernicious anemia treat their B12 deficiency with higher doses of supplementation. Also, many people who eat meat on a regular basis have B12 deficiency because eating meat doesn't guarantee proper absorption. If his issue is absorption, eating meat shouldn't be a treatment protocol, unless he wants to megadose with beef or something, which is quite unpractical. If you're body doesn't absorb B12 properly, as happens a lot in the elderly, they have a drop that goes under your tongue. My mom's supplement was 5000 micrograms...Or 200,000% of her daily need, 2000 days worth.

I'm trying to cut out sugar completely and eat so few carbs that my body stays in ketosis. Also, I believe, as we know that fasting is so beneficial for our body, surely ketosis, which is very similar, would be healthy too.

    Something I would have loved to see mentioned here is the all or nothing approach that a lot of people seem to take when it comes to citing medical reasons. There are a few legit medical reasons which make it necessary for a person to consume animal products (many medications contain them) - but then people will use it as a justification to eat meat and milk and eggs every single day.
    I'm not a fan of arguing about people's health conditions and how to deal with them, I'm not a health professional. But even respecting that, people can still do their best to avoid any additional, unnecessary animal exploitation.

    • @soniaiboyako4023
      @soniaiboyako4023 Рік тому +5

      I think you know that when people say "i need to consume animal products for health reason" they do not mean that their medication has elements that come from animals.. i have genuinely never ever heard or seen a single person refer to their medication that way, only their feeding habits

    • @triptripp1873
      @triptripp1873 Рік тому +5

      Specifically when it comes to medication, if you need it, and there's no practically possible alternative, you need it.
      That's why no one eats 100% plants. That's just silly talk that non vegan people will throw around to "debunk" veganism.
      Reduce the suffering that your actions can cause as much as you can. That means not eating animal products ofc, but in terms of medication, you do the best that you can really. Technology is evolving, so hopefully we will have more and more medication that isn't tested on animals, and doesn't contain animal products. There's a lot of those already out there, but we hope for more.

    • @natinje
      @natinje Рік тому +1

      @@soniaiboyako4023 I've seen it, albeit rarely. The point is that even if his claim were true, it wouldn't hold as a justification to consume even more animal products unnecessarily. That's bad reasoning and I think it's a good thing if we get people to think about what is and isn't a necessity.
