  • Recently, Halsey revealed that they have been struggling with MCAS, POTS, EDS, and Sjogren's and is still looking into the root cause(s) of some of these illnesses. I explain how Bartonella could be at play for Halsey and anyone else struggling with any of the above illnesses, which means the root cause can be treated and give patients a better quality of life.

    Hi Jake, I´ve spent the last few weeks going through your videos and just wanted to say thank you for all the work you put into these. You´re shining a light on a little-known illness and it´s been helpful to me to be able to get an idea of what´s known about it through your entertaining videos as opposed to actually reading all the scientific studies--so grateful you do that! I really hope you´re getting better and feeling as strong as you really are.

    EXCELLENT overview of many complex Autoimmune related syndromes. As with all 'new' 9previously unknown, such as COVID) diseases, there is a lot of confusing confusing and possibly conflicting information.
    It takes incredible patience, intellect, and persistence to sort though the myriad of research publications and makes it practical and usable to those suffering with these conditions.
    Thank you Jake for doing such a superb job of not only researching and 'digesting' this information and making it available (and entertaining!!!) to the public!!!

    Yes yes yes. So many great things about this video. First and foremost, I love your shirt. More on topic, I truly believe/agree about MCAS by proxy of bartonella can cause hypermobility, not only because of the case report but personal experience. I am definitely a 0 on the beighton score but have craniocervical instability, knee and ankle instability that have gotten worse as my MCAS got worse. When I got super sick, all the joints in my body started popping and my joint instability got so much worse. When my MCAS flares, my joints literally feel less stable. Suspicious! Lastly, I just really appreciate your approach to talking about BLMD's. I so often see people with such binary thinking - either the doctors are Western MD's or they're quacks. If I only followed what was accepted by MD's, I would still be bed bound from pain. Thanks for your great work on this video, Jake!

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  2 роки тому

      My shirt loves you back!! That's so interesting (and horrible obviously) that when your MCAS flares, your joint instability gets worse that quickly! But I def believe it. And yes, humans, doctors, and medicine are all shades of gray

  • @nintando
    @nintando 2 роки тому +4

    honestly I think this video is fair game as far as being one of those annoying people who speculate about the causes of other people's illnesses because it's 1) very respectful aka not minimizing halsey's experience of being chronically ill / is not weird and gaslight-y 2) not saying that this is an absolute cause of their illness but rather something they may want to look in to 3) bartonellosis isn't something that most people (including doctors) would think to check for in a diagnostic setting so it's not redundant information the way somebody offering anemia or thyroid problems as a catch all for every chronic illness symptom would be 4) it's different when you've lived it

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  2 роки тому

      I definitely think there could be a connection between gastroparesis and Bartonella since Bartonella affects blood flow to the autonomic nervous system, which would affect digestion and GI motility

    Just to clarify, you’re not claiming that the root cause of hEDS is Bartonella, correct, just that there could be a correlative misdiagnosis in some cases?

    • @BartonellaBabe
      @BartonellaBabe  2 роки тому +1

      I think that it’s possible that Bartonella is a root cause for hEDS. I think that there can be more than one root cause for many things. What I think is most likely is that bartonellosis can present as hEDS, especially in susceptible individuals. And it’s possible that there is a subpopulation of those with hEDS who have bartonellosis whose hEDS symptoms would improve with treatment for bartonellosis

    Thank you for this! I could not find any information anywhere except this video about struggling with Bartonellosis, not my first time, and sjogrens disease. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago but they just said it was dry eyes and mouth, no big deal, right? Wrong! Sjogrens symptoms are addition to dryness can mimics Bartonella. So can menopause. I have all three! I had Epstein Barr and Bartonella 3 years ago and took a year to get it in remission. Bartonella is back! I am being treated with ivermectin and methaline blue for it for 8 weeks. I struggle with severe digestive issues, pain in joints, numbness in fingers, extreme fatigue, pain in eyes at night as if I slept with my eyes open, dry persistent cough, shortness of breath, neck stiffness, brain fog and memory issues, and my eyes squint. Everyone used to say I had beautiful eyes and now you can barely see them. It’s getting to a point that I have difficulty with working or getting much done mentally or physically. But I am hopeful with diet and supplements my doctor gave me.
