Underrated bears running back , he was the man, I got the chills watching this ,hell of a good job, hope he sees that we still appreciate what he did for us and without him we don't get to the Superbowl.. Respect
It broke my heart when we got rid of him. Nothing against Cedric Benson he just didn’t have the heart that Thomas Jones did. Thank you for making this video
We had some terrible terrible dopes who were decision makers for this team/ organization & got rid of pure legit talent & locker room leaders for garbage. I'll never forgive the GM for trading away or pushing guys out who should have played their entire career (urlacher) or finished their careers (Jones) as Chicago bears
And they started Benson over Jones in the Superbowl...WTF?? Glad to see Jones still got his yards and made his usual impact on that sodden mess of a game. Wanted to punch Grossman in the face for blowing our Superbowl though. Immature, unprepared, outmatched, and insecure. All he had to do was hand it off to Jones and control the ball... Worthless!
KyoKonKyoChin I definitely agree, I love football and I watched that game at 4 years old and I remember being so excited after that opening kickoff, and when we lost I cried my eyes out, and rewatching it years later there's a few key plays that stand out. 1. Cedric Benson fumble. 2. Grossman pick 6 that sealed the deal. 3. Our only major defensive mistake was that damn Reggie Wayne 60 yard bomb where coverage just broke down and the safety wasn't there. I honestly believe Kyle Orton could've led us to the promised land, as well as keep feeding Thomas jones and we keep that lead til the end.
KyoKonKyoChin Yeah it's so painful, especially even now when Mitch trubisky showed so much promise his first year with Nagy and made the pro bowl, and now our offense is in shambles. I think the most painful Bears game that I vividly remember was the 2010 NFC championship when cutler got hurt and Caleb hanie threw a pick 6 to Bj raji, and urlacher got tackled in the open field by Aaron Rodgers on his interception, that game was so painful. In my opinion if the Bears let Mitch walk I feel like he'll go somewhere and play great, it seemed to me that Nagy was holding him back last year, along with how Nagy was too stubborn to run I formation even tho it worked. Every time it seems like we finally have a quarterback, something unexpected happens
I was annoyed when they kept playing Cedric Benson over Jones, I get he was a high draft pick but he wasn’t as good in our offense. I didn’t know any of that stuff about him admiring Payton and being so proud of playing for Chicago, that was awesome. If this is what u can do while making game videos and working a regular 9-5, I really hope you can get enough subs to be able to do this full time man #BearDown
That's where I started second guessing Lovie Smith 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Jones was shredding the Colts in that Super Bowl and Lovie sits him for Benson 😡😡😡😡🤦♂️🤦♂️
Cedric was a great compliment to Jones though. Jones ran hard and with grace. Cedric was the run it right up the gut type of guy. I thought they were great together. But it should have always been the Thomas Jones show.
I was SOOOOO pissed when they kept feeding Benson the ball in that game. Especially when Grossman really need the help from the backfield to fallback on! That was a grown man's game and Benson needed to sit his ass down somewhere. He was way to green for that stage. We needed the Vet.
It tore me up when they let Thomas Jones go he's a true bear with the heart of a lion if they lovie gave him more touches we would of one that Superbowl and Jones never watches the Superbowl since I salute you my brother you are a true definition of loyalty and a true bear for ever.
Big Stone Gap represent, Thomas! His brother Julius also played for the Cowboys. They hold the record as the only two siblings two ever rush for 1000 yards in the same season.
What an underrated player ... He really was our offense.. Love you bro .. We bears fans will forever remember what you have done for us here in chicago love a bears fan
Thank you Thomas Jones. You were an awesome player and let you lead by your actions on the field. Always a bear and prolly one of the top 3 backs ever on the Bears.
We don't make it to the Superbowl that year without Thomas Jones. he played a big part of us making it to the Superbowl that year go back and watch those 2 playoffs games against Seattle and the Saints! I started watching the Bears that year and Thomas Jones was my favorite player on the Bears. I was mad that he wasn't on the bears the following season
A great running back who came from a blue collar working family to a blue collar working city of Chicago, the city of broad shoulders and the Home of the Chicago Bears! That should've never been traded! And the only running back I've ever seen get 24 yards with a QB draw on a 3rd and 23! Now that's what I call a Chicago Bear running back!!!!!
That was c absolutely awesome!! I really enjoyed watching Thomas Jones as a kid. He was my favorite running back at the time. He along with many others helped make the running back position, my favorite position in football.
He was put in a very difficult spot when they drafted Benson. Jones handled it like to total pro. He's a true class act and one of my all-time favorite Bears.
This is my guy Thomas jones was very underrated in the nfl he is a straight up beast in the open field he came along when the bears need a running back what a player I'm glad to see he is a profootball hall of candidate let's go Bears congratulations thomas jones
Thank you Robert for bringing a bears Thomas Jones highlights to UA-cam, it didnt exist before this video. I was searching for it and couldn't find it.
Absolutely fantastic video! Thomas Jones should have been given the ball more in the SB. One of my favorite RBs to watch. He's got my HOF vote. Never should've traded him.
This guy plays with some much emotion and heart, we can use that now, that guy really wanted to win , and not only that him and kreutz got that Offensive line in check.
BLAME Jack -- Jerry Angelo ! GM that didn't have a clue just like Ryan Pace ! While Mark Hatley(RIP) and Phil Emery got fired. Hat and Emery knew football end and out but didn't play to the Media so out the door even though they bleed Bears Football !
Two things: One thanks for making a video about TJ. I think he was underrated as a player and a Bears. Secondly, thanks for the good video. No stupid music killing the moment, just the plays. Killed it.
Thank you. The video was Thomas's idea. He reached out to me and we discussed and basically outlined it. I ran through all available film, much from him and some from Jason McKie and Alex Brown. I outlined the plays we wanted and the sequencing. Thomas and I wrote the voiceover. Thomas picked the music and gave us the tracks. And then Robert actually put the whole thing together and did all the editing. I'm as proud of this piece as I am any piece of writing in my career.
This just shows how much the Chicago Bears has let the fans and this city down. How many probowl, allpro, and hof Talent can one franchise waste without any superbowl wins in 30 years?!? Breaks my heart
Thank you so much for making this video. Thomas was a joy to watch and was my favorite offensive player during that run. I didn't know he was a fan of Walter. That made me smile. He was great runner and a good pass blocker as well. Chicago would have Thomas in on passing downs because Benson was lacking in that department. Always a Bear.
I will never understand why the Bears didn't seem to embrace Thomas Jones in the tradition of the great legacy of franchise running backs. He seemed to be treated as just a guy by the team while to me and most if not all fans I knew, he was THE MAN! Walter, Gayle, Jones, Forte! My greatest hope for Montgomery is that we have a Thomas Jones on our hands. As the Bears live on in his heart do does he as in our hearts as what Bear is all about.
I remember seeing a clip of Jones after a hundred yard game or maybe it was after had had just come off the field (walking to the locker) and had 1300 yds for the season (or another 100+ yard game). His comment went something like "I'm proud to be a Chicago Bear, this is the proudest day of my life. Yep! He was really a bear.
I was a kid when he played for da bears and he was my favorite offensive player during those years. He may still to this day be my all time favorite bear running back I saw in person. Even tho he wasn't with the bears long, I'd rank him as the 3rd best running back in bears history behind only Walter Payton and Gale Sayers. Matt Forte is a very close 4th.
This man didn't even get going until the age where most running backs are washed. Loved watching him play and one has to wonder what if he put up those same stats in his mid 20s as around age 30
Has anyone ever thought that these guys are drafted by teams they sometimes don't want to play for? Many of them wan play for their own home city. Can you imagine what it must feel like for many NFL players to face off against their own home town team? As fans, we are excited to see them play, but we never think about how players feel
The only thing I regret about Thomas Jones' Career was that he didn't START with us. I feel like we missed on an even greater bear because of that. He would have easily been our 2nd all-time leading rusher, especially in the early years before 06 when we needed a ground game to help our defense. He also should have definitely retired a bear. I was a Rex Grossman stan, but even I knew that Thomas Jones should have been relied on WAY more if we had a chance to win the big games, especially the superbowl.
The Downfall of the 2000's Bears was when they drafted Cedric Benson when we had this guy on the roster. Benson was an absolute disappointment of a pick. So infuriating that moment was! This man was as smooth as jazz and as tough as nails.
Big Folks 🔱 is the true definition of a Bears RB1. He idled sweetness so much he switched to a 2bar when he came here. I still wished he would of stayed a natural robot back when he was with us.
If Thomas Jones would of not been traded, perhaps we never see Matt Forte in a Bears uniform. I've been a bears fan since I was a kid, now I am 38 years old. Had the privilege to watch Bears runnings Neal Anderson, Anthony Thomas, Thomas Jones, Matt Forte. But my top favorites to watch was #20 and #22. Bear Down.
I'm from the same area as Thomas Jones and played against his brother Julius in high school, in this area its just called youth or PTA football, we live in a very rural area we don't have what you call pop warner football.
Jones was 1 of my all time favorite rb's. Been a Bears fan since i knew any better. The Bears have always had a great running backs. Another 1 that was really good but was overshadowed because he was the 1st rb after Payton was Neil Anderson. #OnceABearAlwaysABear
Thomas Jones is primarily remembered as a Jet. Played there just as long as CHI and ARI, but had way better seasons. Had the most touches there. Even won the AFC rushing title in NY.
Jones was the man and one of my all time favorite bears and the shit bag front office screwed him and us when they traded him!! Story of being a bears fan.
Underrated bears running back , he was the man, I got the chills watching this ,hell of a good job, hope he sees that we still appreciate what he did for us and without him we don't get to the Superbowl.. Respect
behind payton and sayers, is thomas jones
Dregs and then Forte as well
@@jthree331 nahhhh
Dregs Forte played great for us my guy, I was alive for all of it and with cutlers abysmal years he was our only offense
@@jthree331 ok. still meh to me
It broke my heart when we got rid of him. Nothing against Cedric Benson he just didn’t have the heart that Thomas Jones did. Thank you for making this video
Are you serious we should have picked Rodgers instead of Benson
Got rid of Benard Berrian too that year. I was pissed!
No. Everything against benson. Her didnt have the heart or the thighs
Worthless!
Thomas Jones was one of the best bears running back ever
Payton, Sayers, Anderson, Jones, Forte and Montgomery is on his way 😎
He should’ve got more touches in the Super Bowl. If he did, Bears probably would have won it all in 2006
BeingABear until the sheriff takes the field
LetMeSeeThis99 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions, yeah, stellar game from Peyton manning, Rex grossman won you that Super Bowl
KyoKonKyoChin I definitely agree, I love football and I watched that game at 4 years old and I remember being so excited after that opening kickoff, and when we lost I cried my eyes out, and rewatching it years later there's a few key plays that stand out. 1. Hands down I got them tied up there with Walter. Jones carried the Bears to win Super Bowl. And Rex gave it up man. Best bear running backs
I was annoyed when they kept playing Cedric Benson over Jones, I get he was a high draft pick but he wasn’t as good in our offense. Good ol Jerry Angelo bro, "we got a good rb in Thomas what should we draft with 4th pick, ahh a rb"
Should of drafted Aaron instead of Cedric
Cedric was a lot of trouble also.
bears have a long history of great running backs like jones, sweeetness, sayers, anderson, forte, but almost zero signal callers.
Don’t forget Red Grange. He was in the first Hall of Fame class. He was considered the first football superstar.
Still don’t know why the Bears traded him. He had 111 yards in the SB on only 15 carries... crazy
I was SOOOOO pissed when they kept feeding Benson the ball in that game. Especially when Grossman really need the help from the backfield to fallback on!
That was a grown man's game and Benson needed to sit his ass down somewhere. He was way to green for that stage. We needed the Vet.

Never forget Beson at the Superbowl while we yelled for more Thomas Jones!!!!

I loved watching Thomas as a kid. He helped me fall in love with the Chicago Bears!
Along with Raymont Harris, Thomas Jones is one of my favorite, most _underrated_ RBs in Bears history.
I'm happy to see this. Raymont "The Ultra-Back" was a childhood favorite of mine.
ULTRABACK!!!
Damn shame he couldn't stay healthy. Harris really could have been something special.
Love me some Raymont Harris!!
Big Stone Gap represent, Thomas! His brother Julius also played for the Cowboys. They hold the record as the only two siblings two ever rush for 1000 yards in the same season.
Man I wish players never got old because I'd want this guy on my team forever.
Man this video had me in tears🐻⬇️
I really enjoyed when he played for the Bears ...what a great running back he was.
TJ was a beast he was a real bear the heart of the team then they trade him I was pissed. But once a bear always a bear. BEAR DOWN
Hallelujah top 2 Bears running back in history. And that's ahead of the Kansas City comment.
💯🐻s!
Besides Walter & Gale ... this guy was true Chicago heart & soul. My 2nd favorite rb I was able to watch & follow his career
I'll add Forte to the list as well. Cheers

How is there not more highlight videos of Thomas Jones?! This guy was an absolute beast! Probably had the biggest biceps of any RB ever.
That was c absolutely awesome!! I really enjoyed watching Thomas Jones as a kid. He was my favorite running back at the time. He along with many others helped make the running back position, my favorite position in football.

Always loved Thomas. Next to Payton and Forte, he was my favorite Bears running back.
I couldn't agree more! Thomas Jones was a monster and he worked his ass off for the Bears and the ownership did not reward him.
Thank you Robert for bringing a bears Thomas Jones highlights to UA-cam, it didnt exist before this video. I was searching for it and couldn't find it.
Very cool video. Big Thomas Jones fan!

Damn those Bears GM's. This was the guy. Could have helped us big time.
OMG thanks for this upload! Chills! Besides Walter, the best and most UNDERRATED RB in bears HISTORY!
Damn... Awesome video.
Why Lovie Smith played Cedric Benson over Jones, who was slicing the Colts to pieces is beyond me! I wanted to put my foot through my TV!
Should have gotten Rodgers
Because of GM Jerry Angelo
@JulieBishop I don't think it would've mattered. Both quarterbacks handicapped that team.
Bro, stop making up stories. Cedric Benson got hurt and knocked out of the game on his second carry.
@JulieBishop damn straight
Thank you for this epic video. Jones finished 20th all time leading rusher. HOF
I still miss Thomas Jones. Top 10 in my life time favorite player to watch.
Two things: One thanks for making a video about TJ. I think he was underrated as a player and a Bears. Secondly, thanks for the good video. No stupid music killing the moment, just the plays.

This just shows how much the Chicago Bears has let the fans and this city down. How many probowl, allpro, and hof Talent can one franchise waste without any superbowl wins in 30 years?!?
Breaks my heart
That's what happens when you don't have a QB
Growing up as Bears fan, the two best RBs the bears have had since I started watching were Jones and Forte.
Check out highlights of neal Anderson he was a monster
Pure class. Pride of Cville w Barber Bros to this day!!!
Thank you friend for you amazing times I will never forget my team
Thank you so much for making this video. Thomas was a joy to watch and was my favorite offensive player during that run. I didn't know he was a fan of Walter. That made me smile. He was great runner and a good pass blocker as well. Chicago would have Thomas in on passing downs because Benson was lacking in that department. Always a Bear.
Wow, amazing video! The ending got me hyped
Thomas Jones was my favorite Chicago Bear of all time
Yes my boy Bear Down !! Thank you
What is the issue with the bears trading beloved RBs? pisses me off how they treat them. Forte, Howard, Jones, they all deserve better
Great video, love TJ hope Montgomery can be like him
Back when the line could open up some holes. He was legend!
Legend !!!!!
Thomas Jones was one of favorite football players growing up. As a matter of fact, he is my 2nd favorites NY Jets player of all time.
Thanks Robert
My Boy T J Was Great Back Love The Way He Ran The Ball

What a wonderful video and R.I.P to ced Benson but I wish we would have tried to keep Jones one more year
Yep, him and Curtis Martin were Beasts
Good on him. He was fun to watch.
Thomas Jones always seemed like he was gliding
I remember seeing a clip of Jones after a hundred yard game or maybe it was after had had just come off the field (walking to the locker) and had 1300 yds for the season (or another 100+ yard game). What I wouldn't do to have him on this roster
Jones was a real Bear running back. #20 is legendary.
Happy 43rd Birthday Thomas reliable back always answered the bell. 10K career rushing not many can say this.
One of the best running backs ever 🐻
This Guy was a Baaaaaad Man
damn why can't our O line block like that for montgomery 😣. They have the same play style and we could be flattening teams!
We don’t even run the ball this anymore 🤦🏾♂️💯
I was a kid when he played for da bears and he was my favorite offensive player during those years. He may still to this day be my all time favorite bear running back I saw in person.
Even tho he wasn't with the bears long, I'd rank him as the 3rd best running back in bears history behind only Walter Payton and Gale Sayers. Matt Forte is a very close 4th.
He was so underrated
This man didn't even get going until the age where most running backs are washed. Loved watching him play and one has to wonder what if he put up those same stats in his mid 20s as around age 30
Olin Kreutz. Always at the second level

Great running back
T Jones was the man!💪💪💪💪
If Thomas Jones would of not been traded, perhaps we never see Matt Forte in a Bears uniform. I've been a bears fan since I was a kid, now I am 38 years old. Com'on Nagy Learn From Throw Back In How We Had A Good O Line.......Lets Go Bears 2020
Can someone please show this to Pace & Nagy? This was Bears football... You need an offensive line and a RB with heart like Thomas Jones!!
We never got to say goodbye to you either.
I'm from the same area as Thomas Jones and played against his brother Julius in high school, in this area its just called youth or PTA football, we live in a very rural area we don't have what you call pop warner football.
Goddamn Thomas Jones was so good. Is so good
Jones was 1 of my all time favorite rb's. Been a Bears fan since i knew any better. The Bears have always had a great running backs. Another 1 that was really good but was overshadowed because he was the 1st rb after Payton was Neil Anderson. #OnceABearAlwaysABear
Am I alone being reminded of Thomas Jones when watching Marshawn?
Jones wasn't as violent as Marshawn. They look the same in open field though
Thomas Jones is primarily remembered as a Jet. Played there just as long as CHI and ARI, but had way better seasons. Had the most touches there. Even won the AFC rushing title in NY.
I wish I had the 2006 bears back
should have kept giving jones the ball in the superbowl he was going off.
Please do a matt forte next!
From one of VA'S FINEST to another....Bear Down son. A Town
Should've gave Thomas Jones the rock more in the Super Bowl.
great runningback, blocked, caught passes, great teammate
Jones was the man and one of my all time favorite bears and the shit bag front office screwed him and us when they traded him!! Story of being a bears fan.
So true
Sad and true. Worst part of being a sports fan is seeing guys like this get shipped away.
At one point if Hester didn't make a TD or if our Defense didn't make a pick six, Thomas was the only other hope I had for us to score.
Nagy need to learn this is Bear Football
