    This is one of the reasons I admire her. She took what everyone was making fun of her for, and turned it into one of her biggest songs.

    The song is an ironic take on how the media portayed her to be. She read all the stuff and thought "Oh, this character is great, I need to write a song from that girls perspective".

      totally agree! :] it's worth watching that video.. even in your own time to get the brief history of the concept of this song and how it's portraying the medias idea of what her life is like, especially when it comes to dating / relationships. pure brilliance on taylors part (not surprising).

    Taylor played this song on one instrument at a Grammy Museum performance . She explained the meaning behind the song about creating the "character " she had been painted to be by the media. Super cool performance....i think you would really like it after seeing this video.

    This is absolutely tongue & cheek. She took the media narrative of her being a crazy man eater who only dates for sport to use in her songs. She has a blank space to write them into her lyrics - notice her pen “clicks”.

  • @NYandAZ
    @NYandAZ 5 днів тому +9

    Yes, she has stayed friends with her best friend from 15 years old, Abigail. I believe you saw her at the dinner table on Miss Americana. She wrote “15” just for Abigail to hear, but Abigail said that other girls could get some help or insight from her experience. Taylor is friends with SO MANY people because she’s so genuine and kind.

    The man, Sean O’Pry, is a worldwide model. He was so good looking that he didn’t even have to audition for the part.
    Taylor did the lip biting part during the beginning of filming to make sure that they could show chemistry and it made him have feelings for her and he had a hard time looking at her in the eye after that. LOL. She’s definitely beautiful. To get paid to be kissed by Taylor? Oh what a job for a single man. 😂❤️

    Taylor is one rare musician, Writer, Director,, lyrics are amazing, She really is the best in the industry, She's the whole package, She was in school for a while, Than she was home schooled because of bullying for her, It was for the love of the arts, Taylor, Pushes through it all.❤ Love her.

    • @robertthompson7242

      that sort of blurs everything together.
      Swift attended a private Christian elementary school, a public middle school in PA, another public middle school in Tennessee, and 2 years of High School. She didn't homeschool because of bullying (which was in PA, mostly). She met her long term bestie Abigail on the first day of the ninth grade; High School was not the same as middle school for her. She homeschooled because she started a 6 month radio tour in 2006, followed by work as an opener for several artists; then work on a second album.

    Background video ---- Taylor had an advertising relationship with AT&T, one of the phone companies here (it also owned DirecTV, a satellite dish/cable company). The Taylor Swift Experience was a phone app that was up for a year or so back in 2015, then taken down. They also sponsored the series Taylor Swift NOW, which had a lot of behind the scenes video of all her music videos. AT&T also built a Houston arena in 2016 for a concert venue; Taylor did her 2017 Super Saturday Night show there (night before the Super Bowl).
    For Reputation, AT&T sponsored a whole series of "Making of a Song." Working in studio, Max Martin & Johan Shellback, and Jack Antonoff. a 45 minute compilation was posted of almost all of them by a channel called love, swifties. The individual segments are also available. AT&T also hosted a "secret session" invitational fan event in Chicago, with a surprise solo set with Taylor. For AT&T, it was a way to get content for their cell phone network and build subscribers. For the rest of us, a look into how she works. For Taylor, it was selling Reputation without doing any interviews or talk shows.

    Taylor has friends from high school that are in her life today even though she was often really bullied in high school and never felt part of the popular crowd as she was often left out by peers. This song is her way of of spinning the crazy way on how the media portrays her as a crazy love stared women who gets guys and then throws them away! She really just wants to find that special someone but hasn’t been lucky in the love department and I imagine being how big she is it’s hard to tell if people around you are there for the right reasons! I think her early relationships really affected her choice in guys over the years but I think her latest relationship Travis is a real family guy which is what I think she needs/wants! Great reaction as always Izzy❤

  • @StarBuck-v8k
    @StarBuck-v8k День тому +1

    Taylor normally writes all her songs on one instrument, a piano or guitar. All the production obviously is added in the studio. So she can strip any song down to one instrument & play it acoustically because that’s how she wrote the songs initially.

    and yes, she does have at least one friend from high school named Abigail. Taylor was a bridesmaid at her wedding. She's, as far as I know, just a normal person living her life. But on Taylor's birthday she rubs elbows with celebs because taylor wants her there with them.

    The media portrayed her as this serial-dater/Man eater and she went and made this video. Its a fun time. The bass/Synth/acoustic guitar you hear is definitely a Jack Antonoff specialty, He produces for her (this was his first album working with her) and also produces for Sabrina Carpenter. Great reaction as always Izzy, and the blue hat is still my favorite!!!!

      What’s weird is that she really hasn’t dated that many men. I don’t count teenage crushes & boyfriends. I only count adult relationships & at age 35 I think she gets an unfair narrative, I don’t think she’s dated that many.

    The car was one of Taylor's; the golf club was just the handle, all the damage was CGI. You need to watch two other versions of the song: her solo acoustic at the Grammy Museum (she intros the song first), and then the 1989 World Tour version that was recorded in Sydney --- she uses the golf club to good effect there. And a bit differently on the Eras tour, but the golf club is part of the imagery for the song by now.
    For more of her thinking and writing, and production, there is a 40 minute presentation she gave to producers and sound engineers --- look up her name with Grammy Pro. She runs briefly through the country albums, and how 1989 differed in how they wrote and put it together. Embarrassing voice memos included. At the end the poster tacked on 4 of her live solos that she did that night: Blank Space, How You Get The Girl, Wildest Dreams, and Out of the Woods. run time for all of it is @ an hour. instruments: Gibson Songwriter, Gibson concert?, Fender Jaguar, and piano.

    So if you watch the Grammy museum perfomance of this song, (acustic on her guitarr) she explains the reason she wrote this song. It is satire, written from the perspective of the fake persona the media had tried to push her as being, when in reality she is the opposite. So she decided to write from that narrative´s perspective.

    Blank Space is from the 1989 album, which is also regarded as “the pop bible”. It’s critically acclaimed, and also the most awarded pop album of all time. It’s monumental, and influential because this album brought back the 80s synth sounds in mainstream music.

    Song suggestions:
    1 No body, no crime (evermore): Taylor's incredible ability to take you into a story.
    2 dead for a thousand cuts - in the “tiny desk concert” version (lover)
    3 would've could've should've (midnights): about her relationship with John Mayer, who was 32 and she was only 19.
    4 Cassandra (TTPD): Use of Greek mythology (Cassandra) showing that people don't believe her words and attack her because of that, going beyond all limits, destroying her... but when the truth comes out, no one cares. Because everyone just likes to attack. (She's talking about her problem with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, the audio tape recorded (lie/edited) and everyone attacked Taylor)
    5 you're losing me (midnights - from the vault): coming to the end of the relationship with Joe
    6 Carolina: Music made for the film “Where the Crawdads Sing”.

    This song is Taylor satirising herself and writing what the press made her out to be a desperate emotional, crazy woman who could not keep a man. When in reality she was dating like any normal woman in her 20s. Taylor has always taken what the haters through at her, put it on like amour and scream it right back at them, from songs to full eras and running themes. She isn't scared to embrace it to make them look stupid

  • @DianeLake-sw3ym
    @DianeLake-sw3ym 4 дні тому

    Taylor's best friend is a regular lady she has been besties with since high school. She does have a group of friends she hangs with known as the squad. They are famous women but, not divas. They range from singers to actresses to models. Many she's been friends with for years.
    Taylor has had a history of unhappy relationships. Some have used her for fame and money and some have cheated on her. She had a boyfriend for about 6 years and broke up in spring of 2023. This was a case of they loved each other but, were so different in wants and needs and personalities. It just did not work out in the end.
    In the summer of 23 she performed her Eras tour in Kansas City, Missouri at the Football stadium, Arrowhead. One of the stars of the team, Chiefs, had a long time celebrity crush on her and he thought he'd try to meet her. The story is kind of long and funny. You can read about it on google or watch some UA-cam videos. Anyway, in the end Travis Kelce did hook up with Taylor and they have been together for almost a year and half. He's been good for Taylor. She has insecurities and axieties. Travis is a laid back, funny, fun loving guy and he has brought her out of her shell.

    From what I have read yes Taylor went to a conventional school, but she suffered a lot of bullying as per her mother on some interview I watched , so bullying is not new to Taylor, today she can let that all out and show those bullies how far she can go! She is just phenomenal, but yet still hate many haters, she did nothing to them I guess jealousy comes in all packages and it’s about them not Taylor!

    I sometimes think about how absolutely terrifying it must be for Taylor to like really get close to new people (I was gonna say "for people with Taylor's level of fame, but I think she is a standalone right now). I'm no expert, but I would imagine that there is a lot of money in selling info and pictures from her private life. How do you trust anyone new when that trust can be so easily capitalized? I guess childhood friends are options, and maybe other people who are very famous.
    Those thoughts are what really breaks me when i listen to the bridge in The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived. Like having your worst fears and paranoia confirmed.

    This is completely random but something you said made me think of it. Do you know who Dax Riggs is?

    When you look at Shake It Off, there are 8 (eight) behind the scenes videos ! individually pretty short, worth your time .

    I see you have gotten the background on the song. If you are interested in hearing Taylor explain the inspiration, in her own words, I will leave the link. She performed live at the Grammy museum. It is in the top 3 live vocal performance in my opinion, so worth checking out on your own, even if you don't react to it. ua-cam.com/video/p1Zt47V3pPw/v-deo.html

    I listened to 1989 when she first released it, but never truly appreciated it until she re-recorded and released it. It’s become one of my favorite albums of hers.

    You should have gotten context for this video before you watched.The whole thing was what she had heard what the public thought about her.
