@@GardenForaged We never get much rain here (Boise, Idaho, zone 7). Less than 12"/year. Actually, we got so much rare rain this spring that the authorities said our reservoirs were topped off. But there seems to be something else going on. My melons and squash have maybe 6 true leaves. And with the food supply shortage coming, I'm getting a little worried. I'm gonna need that squash for the winter. I got tons of winter squash last year but, can you BELIEVE, out of 4 ZUCCHINI plants I only got SIX, count 'em, SIX zucchini. And so far this year I've gotten one. 🤷♀️
@@lesliekendall5668 Wow that is not much rain at all. How often do you water your plants on a normal year. Nothing is normal these days anyways haha Yea my zucchini plants are not doing so hot this year either
@@GardenForaged I was watering twice a week but I just cut all my pollinator wildflowers down since they were already dead. But twice a week is about all I can handle because I'm on 1/2 acre and hand watering that I can do in one day doesn't get deep enough and having water pressure that can only handle one sprinkler at a time, it takes 2 days to get everything watered. And now I'm stressing about weeds taking over where the wildflowers were which was the REASON I planted the wildflowers a year ago to begin with. It's quite a mess.
@@GardenForaged Another issue about the water is I have to be so selective WHAT I water. Last year I had a sprinkler that covered a larger area but it watered my fruit trees so much that it almost killed my apricot and hazelnut trees. Plus I'm 65 and don't have the energy I used to. There's that. Nope, they've planned it all out and unless you agree to be their slave, no one can store up enough food for a lifetime. Us preppers are just going to be the last ones to starve to death. And that's the reality
There's no screen doors on this house, so they bought one of those hanging mesh screens from WM, and it's not bug proof at the bottom. So I laid about a 3" wide path of Borax and laid about 8 bay leaves along both sides of the bottom of the mesh screen. Never saw a big come under that screen again. Until recently, a odd jumping cricket spiders did come thru so I don't open the door any more , I hate those creepies
Hi Cindy! Hector has a few trees for sale. He is in Woodbridge. You can find a link to his profile on the description of the video. I have some trees for sale too but for pick up only. I'm in Falls Church
Thank for watching. Unfortunately once I upload the video it's very hard to do changes on my editing software. I have noticed the issue and tried to fix for the future videos.
Hi Chris- i don't have any pomegranates for sale this year. You can buy some online from Edible Landscaping Nursery. They are in Virgina so the shipping is not too expensive.
You won't be able to grow that outside without protection. You could grow them as container trees and bring indoors during the winter months. I'm starting a soursop from seeds right now
@@GardenForagedThat’s pretty awesome and thank you for the response. Do you have a video on how to grow soursop from seed properly? I tried but mine died. New subscriber 🎉
@@zayjay3985 i don't have a video on it since it's my first try. I find it helpful to spring them in seed stating mix. I used an old salad plastic tub, add the soil, the add the seeds. Keep the lid closed and put on top of a heat mat. It took like 3 weeks for the first seeds to start sprouting.
My hometown! Always love to see how much people grow in small spaces. Thanks for sharing.
Wow beautiful tropical garden !
Thank you
Lookin' good, Hector. Thanks to you both!
Thank you! Hope your veggies are doing well in the heat. It seem like the rains are missing my house

I use bay leaves alot and not just in long cooking food. It's great to keep bugs and roaches away.
Good to know!

That’s a great collection. It would be cool to see a follow up in spring to see how everything did in the greenhouse.
I'm planing on going back to do a follow up next spring. Stay tuned 😉
Oh my goodness...I love it all!!! I'll definitely message Hector. Do you still have your little trees for sale?

I will have more rare fruit trees next year. Like pomegranate and flying dragon
I'm in Ruckersville, VA in central VA
Hi Susan- what are you growing in your yard? any rare fruits?
I'm only growing in fabric pots, 2 determinate tomatoes, and some herbs in another fabric pot and a pot with about 9 bush beans
I may have to move suddenly , plus the entire yards front and back are mostly shade
@@susananderson9619 That's awesome. I want to try some fabric pots next year
Please turn off the music. Would love to be able to hear this better without all the background music being distracting. Beautiful!

Will you leave the trees in pots in the greenhouse or plant them in the ground in the greenhouse?
Hector is keeping his trees in pots. They are doing quite well this winter. I will do an update vídeo soon :)
Do you still have plants for sale locally? I am interested in some pomegranate trees.

You can grow pawpaw (Asimina triloba) which is related to soursop, you do need 2 different varieties of pawpaw to get fruit but they are delicious.
@@derekmorris7128 Oh ok. Thanks! Do you know which 2 varieties you’d need?
