I have had a few comments mentioning that the first aircraft is a U-2, not a B52. The U-2 landed a few minutes before the B-52s and I decided to add it into the video. 😁
From Deb…So awesome! My family was stationed at Fairford in 1963. Loved watching the BUFFS from my bedroom window in our officer’s quarters. Thanks for the memories!
How do you know when the B52s are arriving? Do they make a public announcement of some sort? I thought that broadcasting information about military troop or aircraft movements was supposed to be kept secret. I've always wondered since every time there is a video of US military aircraft landing at British bases there is always a big crowd at approach end of runway
There normally on flight radar and you can predict when they return, and there’s normally a pattern of when they go out, like every 2 days. There’s also a few Fb pages with experts
It’s a training flight to condition the pilots to the take off and landing patterns of the area. If the pilots landed then took off again, that’s called a “touch and go.” They also most probably performed air refueling training rotations as part of the mission.
I believe its part of the U-2's data link relay system. It can be removed or installed depending on the mission. Basically is sends real time/live information and data back to be analyzed on the spot.
Is it a big problem though? You can hear it in the other cameras footage and I’m still getting used to the second camera (don’t have the equipment yet to muffle the wind noise) but of course if you don’t like it, then the problem will be fixed at some point. Thanks for watching anyway!
What the hell are those lego wheels attached to it????????? Pathetic. I know but such a amazing in your face plane and the wheels are so tiny only joking everyone l love it
The outrigger wheels on the U-2/Tr.1 are only used on the ground to stop the wingtips from touching the ground. They are dropped during the take off run and left behind. They are then reinstalled on the ground once it stops its roll out (hence the speeding car catching up to the aircraft...its carrying the outriger wheels). Not pathetic at all but very ingenious and have worked extremely well for over 60 years.

Yeah, I knew the first one wasn’t a B-52. Easy to see. Thanks for the update on why the title reads only about the B-52s.

Wow that’s incredible! What an awesome time you must of have seeing them! Thanks for watching too!
Never too loud, never too smoky.
That there is the sound of freedom!
B-52s are from Minot AFB, ND. My home state!!!!
Oh wow! Do you see them often?
Joy: Thumbnail and title sez “B-52”
Overjoyed: Opens with a U2!!
Thanks Air Force!
B52 is Dr. Strangelove
Extremely COOL!

Mistaking the "Dragon Lady" for a B-52 is just silly talk.
For perspective, the drag chute is 42' in diameter
Wow thanks!
Nice spotting 😎👏
Are these the 2 from yesterday that spent several hours going round and round off the East Coast ?.Seems a strange flight.
Day before yesterday
Yep and the jet engine exhaust dust is still all over the place
@@MrRobin61 🤓 Hopefully the new engines will sort it.
@@MrRobin61 how European of you

They still fly U2s?
28th May Alex! (Nice video)
Haha sorry about that, seems to be a recurring thing with me recently.
Thanks Jon, glad you enjoyed 😁
What, is the hump on its back?
Of the U-2?

no louder than the wind blowing in the microphone

You might wanna go ahead and mention that that’s a U2 the first one you see!
No room in the title 🤣 but I would because it seems to be making people think I don’t know my stuff haha
We can’t record the military planes here.
Oh that’s a shame, some countries allow it fine and some just don’t.
That first is a U-2. Reconnaissance not a bomber
I know, just thought it be cool to add into the video as it landed before
@@aviationin4k258 Yes it IS!!
@@aviationin4k258 It was plenty cool. Don't mind the 1/2 pints. It is past their bedtimes.
Yep, little bit “smoky”…, might need a valve job…
Pretty normal on landing and take off with these
Better get it right if you’re gonna do videos that’s a U2 not a B-52!
I know, I just saw it first and decided to add it into the gifeo
if you think that first aircraft is a B-52 , then good luckmwith your flight physical eyetest. TryU-w
The first aircraft is a U-2, it’s just a extra clip in the video ad it landed first

The wheels do look unusual dont they? Older design too don’t forget.
If you're going to fly to the edge of space every gram counts
