Terry, track bikes on the street always kinda boggled my mind until watching your footage. I guess just seeing every art school kid in my town tear down their road bikes and convert to single with their "fixie" going unused on the left side has just really irritated me over the last 15 years... But these guys in your videos are seriously untouchable! I have serious respect for what they're doing our there. Watching the footwork in hairy situatuons ... It's comparable to a like a.. halfcab heel flip into a frontside lip down an 8 stair on a skateboard. Not that I would know from actual experience, but I have skated and road bikes most of my life, and I just see the same kind of incredible precision pulled off so naturally that you know you are watching some serious masters of their craft. I can't stop watching even though I've got to get on my own bike and get some stuff done. Anyway, major respect for you and all the guys and girls in your vids. It seems to me they are walking on - and therefore blocking - the bike lane. Try doing the same thing with a lane on a 70 mph freeway with a bike and see how motorists react.
Its called the "yo." Fixie types use it in place of a bell since bells weight a few ounces and that would cut into their performance somehow and ruin the purity of their craft. Just as they have replaced brakes with a human attribute they have also replaced the bell.

I like seeing this type of bike racing. Unfortunately there is no action you know, like pot holes, big craters and also the transit police givig you a ticket for going on the side walks and wrong ways just like it would happen in my town. Tehuacan Puebla.

Terry Barentsen you probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, a Tour de France racer was caught racing one.
Putting a motor and battery on a road bike would add a lot of weight. Since weight is a big contributor to performance of a bike an e-roady it would seem to be an oxymoron, but I'd be happy to have show me wrong.
Stationary bikes much safer Ive had less injuries on those! lol
