Personally I think Paul Daley is a must pick for WW over Woodley, for a couple reasons, Tyron only has 7 KO wins which equates to 26% of his fights he has knocked someone out clean, now compare to that to Paul Daley, who has a 56% Knockout rate of all his fights, win or lose, even if you only check Tyrons wins, he has only knocked out 37% of all his wins, Paul Daley has knocked out 81% of all his wins. I mean the guys bloody nickname is Semtex, Paul Daley should be the clear pick for WW.

I agree it should be semtex, but not because his knockout %. Holloway has 44% of his wins come by (t)ko. You can pick up striking finishes through, technique, volume, timing OR power. Or a combination. The eye test, or power metrics are the only proper measure.

We also have Charles Oliveira's saying something similar when comparing Justin's and Dustin's power. He said Dustin has better timing and accuracy, but Justin's power is different than anyone he ever faced.
So yeah, I don't think we can dispute Justin Gaethje for Lightweight there. But I would have put Drew Dober among the honorable mentions, he does have the most KOs/TKOs in UFC Lightweight history after all.

Shane Carwin i think is hands down the hardest hitter of all time. He would generate so much power in a short distance and dudes would go completely limp. Not even Francis did that cause he swings so far and fast. Even prime JDS said he was rocked in the 2nd round after pummeling Carwin in their fight

I think Shane is a better example than Francis.
When you watch them both punch, Francis puts almost his entire body into those punches whereas Shane could knock people out with short punches

Pleasantly surprised at how deep you made the candidates. Once I heard Kid Yamamoto for BW, I knew this would be good.
I'll mention Rashad Evans simply for landing the hardest punch I've ever seen someone get hit by on Chuck Liddell, although not as consistent in other fights.
He also rocked Rampage badly early in their first fight as well, and rocked a few heavyweights when he was on his way up. The guy, when he threw, absolutely hurt people.
Unfortunately, couldn't take as well as he gave.

Calling Sean O'Malley a volume puncher and not a knockout artist with punching power is just crazy considering he has multiple one punch knockouts and won the belt in one punch. Max Holloway is a volume puncher and rarely knocks people down, Sean has multiple fights where he sent people to another dimension

His reasonings to include two fighters in the hardest hit are the same reasons he gives to not include Sean make it make sense

Unquestionably Melvin was a total powerhouse, but the real 185 kill with one punch goes to Poatan. The amount of power Alex Pereira has is beyond comprehension. Even with the few UFC fights he had, there is a whole slew of other competitions to view. Poatan is the clear 185 winner.
After 296 Josh Emmett wins 145 lol. 135 is by far the hardest to choose Suga deserved more of a shout for what he did to Wineland and Pavia

It's a big mistake to say Sean O'malley is not a heavy hitter. That is exactly what he is. He KOed several opponents with a single strike.. Comparing him to Holloway or even Dustin in this regard is crazy

This might bother some people but i truly think that Sean O'Malley is one of the best punchers in the UFC. If u could take his technique & abilities to any weight, the dude would be unstoppable. O'malley has the ability to put a ton of torque on his punches. From all sorts of angles and directions that he is moving in.. even when going backwards.. he just understands that snap and generating power from the ground up in a millisecond. Dude is underrated. For a skinny dude he hits hard as hell.
Having Woodley number 1 is such an unbelievably bad pick for WW.
Melvin Menhoef over Hendo also terrible.

Not only did Ngannou demolish people, him just blitzing Rozenstruik to finish the fight is insane. Literally nothing he could do, he tried slipping punches and throwing his own counter. Francis just walked thru it, throwing bomb after bomb.
Thanks for reminding me of when I watched that fight and nearly missed it because it was so fast. I kind of just laughed when I saw the replay of Ngannou straight windmill swing rushing the man into oblivion 🤣

In my opinion, the bantamweight’s hardest hitter was Cody Garbrandt. Sure he had no IQ and no chin. But you can’t deny that he dropped huge bombs by knocking out his opponents. For instance Raphael Assuncao, knocked him out at the end of the 2nd round. A huge right hook that sent him to the shadow realm. Call it what you want but that shit was sick asf.

P4P Figuerido is probably one the hardest hitter ever in the fighting sport, yet alone the UFC ... it´s just so hard to see when it comes from a man who is fighting (or fought until his last fight) in the smallest of all divisions
Personally I know its early in her career but I would no doubt put Denis Gomes over Andrade for 115, it’s crazy that you guys had Andrade for two divisions, shoulda just made her the 125lb hardest hitter and not for both. 6 of 8 of Gomes wins come by KO/TKO, she has serious power for the small weight class
