- He had white horses
And ladies by the score
All dressed in satin
And waiting by the door
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
White lace and feathers
They made up his bed
A gold covered mattress
On which he was laid
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
He went to fight wars
For his country and his king
Of his honor and his glory
The people would sing
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
A bullet had found him
His blood ran as he cried
No money could save him
So he laid down and he died
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooh, what a lucky man he was
WOW
A very beautiful version of Lucky Man! Thank you for it.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful!!!!
Gorgeous brass sound, I love that g minor chord first at 3.05 and the subsequent chord progression, and the heartfelt performance.
❤😅 That was great 👍 I really enjoyed this!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
3:10 You are beside yourself!
That made me laugh! Thanks.
Listened to it three times. The little MIDISID is a marvel.
Thankyou, I'm very proud of this one and glad you enjoyed it so much.,
Absolutely lovely.
Thanks!
The most poignant part is "No money could save him, so he laid down and he died. Oh, what a lucky man he was."
Hee hee, Pea; if only you’d known that this was in our first set in 1970. A fun version with gorgeous brass (but who would expect anything else from you?), but you can imagine my guitar solo back when I was 12 😂. Love as always, my dear friend. xx
I didn't know that but I bet your solo even at 12 would have been beautiful. I know the reasons it's not possible but I dearly wish I could hear what you'd do with it today. Cold Cold Feeling comes on random play every so often and it's really moving. Same back atcha. x
Very smooth! I love the synth stuff with the horns!
The sounds work really well together, don't they? Thanks for checking it out.
A masterful work Sheila, you nailed it. The lyrics are pretty horrible really, though I guess he lived after a fashion before croaking. I really enjoyed watching and listening to this. I will revisit tomorrow. Thank you.
Thank you very much! I spent a lot of time on this one, which doesn't necessarily mean I end up happy, but I feel very satisfied with it.I take the lyrics to mean that the guy had money and lived in luxury, and went to war for the glory, but luck only goes so far and when a bullet finds its mark, no amount of money or reputation is going to do you any good. They're pretty simplistic but more profound than I'd expect from a 12 year old.
Brilliant! Love the Flügelhorn!
Thank you. I love playing it and this tune worked well.
What a fun cover. Good old Keith and that monster Moog. I'm surprised by how well the SID replicates that tone. The mix and all the timbres sounded really good together. This was a really nice way to bring new life to this old classic. Bravo!
Yes, I was really pleased with the sound from MIDISID. In mono mode it's using all 6 voices for a really full sound. I've come to love the song. Thanks for stopping by.
