Is there a reason the exhaust isn't under the car?

Wording in the technical regulation forbids the exhaust from not being visible with the wheels attached either from the side or top.

FormulaChris085 I'm making my way through the 2015 regelations as we speak. 'Exhaust pipe outlets must not
be inside the diffuser neither inside a 900mm diameter
cylinder centered on the rear wheel axis and extended from
950 to 550 mm from car center line.
No point of these outlets must be situated less than 300 mm
from the trailing edge of the rear diffuser.
Any point of these outlets must be visible when seen from
above or the side or the back.' Good luck attaching the exhaust pipe under the car ;)

Sticking it under the car also reduces the effect of the diffuser

@@benjaminmcintosh857 It enhances it in fact, quite a lot. It helps speed up the air flowing under the car and gives a ton of downforce.
The problem is that the downforce becomes a bit like a light switch effect between on and off throttle. Sucks when you have to modulate throttle through a turn. The only way to remedy this is to do what Renault did in F1 really well in 2013 and earlier, by having the throttle stay open no less than 90% even when the driver was completely off the pedal. They'd basically retard the timing to the point of sending all the power out the exhaust to keep the airflow up and the downforce consistent. But now that's not allowed.
In short, they don't want this happening for the sake of efficiency, and probably cost too. The R&D for a blown defuser is costly and never-ending lol
