My first impressions was exactly this. I thought the song was odd when I first heard it for the trailer. But man, this song hit hard for the ending though and is now one of my favorite songs from the game.
I think the song hits the hardest when you consider the context it's in; Cloud singing to Aerith. The lyrics revolve around him being an outcast all his life and Aerith played a large part in opening him up and healing him. The lines "This time I will never let you go" are so impactful. Is she gonna live in part 2? Whether she does or she doesn't, at least we know Cloud is gonna try his hardest this time to save her.
Got this song on repeat. They should all be proud. It fits the ending perfectly. The instrumental version plays throughout the slums I've noticed. Though I did miss Anxious Heart it does play briefly in Sector 5.
@@Lelucky77 was about to say the same thing. She was actually born in New York so she's an American Citizen as well. Judging by her response on the presidential election id also assume she still lives in the US.
Sorry, but Tetsuya Nomura as a terrible game director. FF7Remake was a perfect one-shot, never to happen again. And true to form, he completely botched Rebirth - particularly the part you just can't fail, Aerith's death. The part that was a milestone in gaming history. I found it ironic AF that a game with characters that consist of 40-some polygons and a MIDI track can make people cry while Rebirth, literally with hundreds of thousands of polys on screen and an arranged score, fails - and that hack says that it was intentionally done that way. (!!!) F:ing ban him from even touching a game project again! And don't get me started on the constant mini-games everywhere, all the time, cluttering up the story. Tetsuya should only be allowed to design monsters, like he did way back when.
Loved this band and I forgot then did the main theme for this game so after completing ff7R and hearing this kick in it gave me goosebumps. Incredible game finished off with an incredible song
I was waiting Soo long to see the person behind of this incredible voice and he did a master piece 😭😭😭😭 without doubt they select the perfect person and the perfect voice for this amazing game!!
It's funny how much this song gets to me. At first I thought "huh, okay interesting choice..." surprised that they'd have vocals that weren't strict to the score, but after I finished the game (and cried for the 30th time from nostalgia) I can't imagine a more fitting song to represent Cloud's feelings. Seeing this behind the scenes makes me appreciate the hard work and vision that went in to every aspect of the remake. It's beautifully done and I can't wait for part 2!
I admire Uematsu, he has a clear vision of what each and every song he compose should be, and the emotions they need to evoke, and SOMEHOW he manages to translate that train of thought so well. You can clearly see how much respect he has earned, and he damn well deserves it, no matter what happens he has contributed so much to the gaming industry, he’s like the John Williams of VIDEOGAMES, his legacy must be continued, he left so many pieces of art, thank you so much Uematsu!!! You are the king!
I was yet another one of those that didn't like the song all that much at first, But it quickly became one of my favorites, now I'm thankful to be able to hear it.
Thank you, Nobuo Uematsu. Thank you, Yosh Morita. Thank you, Kazushige Nojima. You made an incredible, heart-touching song that will stick with me forever. I am so grateful 💚
More people need to see this... the view count is too low. I have so much respect for Nobuo Uematsu. Seeing the behind the scenes amazed me a lot. I didn't know who Yosh and Survive Said the Prophet was. I didn't like this song so much when I first heard it but it grew on me in a meaningful way. I thought about Zack a lot. Also, if I'm right, this is the first time to hear a male singer in a Final Fantasy? Its different in a good way.
moved away from console to pc a little over a year ago, just finished this game a few days ago. this song with the photos hit me so hard, ff7 was a big part of my childhood, the remake was so well done so far. looking forward to what is next.
I am glad I saw this after playing, so much hard-working behind the scenes!! Happy to be able to play Final Fantasy saga, the adventure has been amazing.
I’m trying to learn how to play the harmonica section of the song on a 10 hole harmonica in the key of G. Just for bragging rights. And I’m making my girlfriend play through the game, so I can surprise her with this song once she’s finished with it. It’s one of those songs that once you’ve heard it, you have to recognize. Already iconic in my opinion. Glad to see the singer was so psyched up when the director liked it and to be a part of the project.
The music in this game is incredible Story: 8.5 Gameplay:8.5 Graphic: 8.3 ( some texture... i know but the graphic still good at all) Music:9 Character:9 Overall score : 9/10 with me My GOTY 2020 so far
I mean I dont know about love Cloud had a crush on her for sure. Aerith still couldnt get past Zack. In my opinion Cloud and tifa fare a lot better because of the promise they had and the whole childhood friend thing
@@DasMetu96 'Gotta look forward, not back' Aerith's words remember? And yeah, a cute promise between Tifa and him: 'please save me please save me please save me pleas-' 'Alright shut the hell up' besides Cloud and Aerith have something similar, he is Aerith's bodyguard in exchange for a date.
fristly i heard that ost while finding the hollow skies ost(sector 5 theme) and thought it was boring and piano versions sounds a head better, but after that cinematic w zack and clound.. wow, it feels like false nostalgia, so deep and sad
I like the score versionof "Hollow" better than the version with vocals. It was so weird hearing it as I run around the slums of Midgar, because it felt like I had heard it a 100 times before. Like, "was this in the original...? ...yeah it was... no wait... no it wasn't...why does it sound so familiar!?!" And that's what personified FF7 REmake for me. It was perfect. It didn't replace the original, it expanded on it, and the new music was a 100% success in that it felt like it belonged, and that it had always been there. That's quite an accomplishment.
Came here coz I just finished the game. No crying this time for me, like in Crisis Core, it’s still a hard hit 👏 But I was so emotional every moment. From the nostalgic intro to the surprising ending. Chills, tears, okey I cried.
I love this song. With this song now we know, how Cloud feel for losing Aerith. He, have a second change to save her. So, This time for sure, I will never let you go. Team Clerith 🌸🎀☁️🗡
Huh? It's about Cloud's state of mind after he reaches Midgar. Where did Aerith die in the rain and the wasteland? Haven't you played Crisis Core? I don't understand you shippers. Blind and deaf to facts. 🤭
I dont like the song at first (trailer), until i finished this game. This song is perfect match with the ending scene. 10/10

That whole project seems incredibly wholesome and you can literally feel how everyone is giving their very best to do FF7‘s legacy justice

The harmonica... dude, such an awesome idea to encapsulate everything they talked about in the video AND Cloud
