- THE FIRST TAKE is a UA-cam Channel dedicated to shooting musicians and singers performing in a single take.
Episode 416 showcases the first performance by Loren Allred, who amazed the world with her incredible talents on “Never Enough,” which was featured in the blockbuster musical film The Greatest Showman. She is joined by Nobuo Uematsu, a legendary game music composer known for his contributions to the Final Fantasy series, and his band conTIKI, also taking to THE FIRST TAKE stage for the first time.
Together, they will perform “No Promises to Keep,” the theme song to the global phenomenon game FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. In the game, Aerith, one of the key protagonists, lends her voice to this track.
Enjoy the global premiere of the full-length performance of this track, parts of which have also been featured in the FINAL FANTASY VII Rebirth / THE FIRST TAKE collaboration video.

ヒトって長生きできなそうな人に対して長生きしてねって言う傾向があると思います。
年齢が若めの人にはあまり言わない。つまり、長生きしてねと言われた際に言われた側が気付かされることは、自分はもう長生きできる確率がもう高くないと言うことかなと思います。そう考えると残酷な言葉かなと。
早く元気に育ってねとか言われる方は人は喜ばしいのではないかと考えたりします。
Why do I feel like this live version is sadder than the original? It's true that when the music is gentle, we can clearly feel the emotions in each verse. Nobuo Uematsu's appearance was surprising and I really like this mix of him
Well I guess that makes sort of sense since the original has been published and made while this performance is a later iteration
She uses a whispy head voice a lot more in this version, sounding much more gentle, whereas she belts out more from the start in the game version.
Yeah she's using falsetto a lot more in the chorus rather than belting throughout. I think I sort of prefer this because there is a build up to that higher performance. And then it has a soft repose to end it.

when they got an interview. She answered that when she recorded in the game, she pretended she was Aerith. This one she just used her original technique and emotion.

Nobuo Uematsu: “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings.
Loren Allred: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character.

Go do Tifa's date and say again that Aerith and Cloud is where they're going, considering the most Aerith and Cloud do is hold hands whereas Cloud and Tifa kiss. Aerith and Zack are meant to be as shown at the end of advent children.

the person's opinion that matters is the person who wrote the song not the singer. They don't have a story like that at all :-) the author for the song said himself that Aerith wrote this song for everybody she loves not just cloud. AERITH and ZACK will have their happy ending being reunited in the end happily together forever in the lifestream :)

I have been following her works since she revealed herself as the vocal of Never Enough (the song from The Greatest Showman) in the BGT. Now she is singing as Aerith in one of the most epic VDO game really brings up the hype! What a voice! Square really picks the right singer for this.

@@nana-ir5he Well the movie was in cinema back in 2017. The song Never Enough was believed to be sung by the actress the whole time. Nobody knew Loren until last year she finally decided to come out. You should watch British Got Talent 2022 where she revealed herself as the singer of never enough.

The feelings that Aerith couldn't say directly were delivered because of this lovely song. Fate separated them but they never stopped searching for one another☁️🌸.
That does translate to OTWTAS which states he was her beloved/koibito and that there were many things she wanted to tell him, but she didn’t know what to say, or how to say it.

ローレンさんの歌声、植松さんの作曲はもちろん、野島さんが書かれた歌詞もまたすばらしいです。
シナリオ上で「エアリスが書いた」というシチュエーションを入れてくださったこと、大変感謝しています。
「身を挺してみんなを救ってくれたけれど、エアリス自身は？ 想いは果たせただろうか。幸せだっただろうか」初代FF7でクラウドを通してずっと思い悩んでいたことですが、歌詞を通して初めて彼女の想いや願いを知ることができました。
「明日もまた会いたい」「この手 離さないで」「わたしを見つけて」…これを叶えないでどうする。
やるせなさと心残りがいつまでもぬぐえません。どうかどうか、お願いします。

初めてローレンさんがNPTKを歌ったのを聞いた際、衝撃をうけ、それ以来この歌の虜になっています。FF７リメイクから入ったのですが、どうしてエアリスがここまで人気があるのかいまいちピンときていませんでした。
しかし、この歌を聞いて、彼女の芯の強さ、逃れられない宿命を一人静かに抱いて、本当の想いを表に出せない切なさが伝わってきて今では大好きになりました
この歌はラブソングとのこと、彼女が心から願っているクラウドとの再会を祈るとともに、クラウドには今度こそ決して手を離さないでほしいです。

This song hits very hard after the ending scene. I cried harder than the loveless performance after all the interactions with Aerith.

I know it's difficult but... let me dream that it could happen. I won't be able to move on with my life without seeing Aerith and Cloud together in some way.
Gosh, I don't think anyone's mad. They will meet in the Lifestream, when Cloud inevitably returns to it in the great Circle of Life. There's actually a official novella written that happens after FF7 in Aertih's perspective (and Zack's perspective I think).
Let the western fanbase mald, JP fans be chilling and enjoying the game.
@@applepie9806 That novel is not canon, but still, in that novel Cloud is with Tifa and Aerith accept it, and he never got to reunite with Aerith. It's just Aerith pinning for him, we never see them together again.

Omg!! This is an incredibly amazing and beautiful song!! No wonder this is a perfect song for our beautiful couples Aerith and Cloud FF7 Remake 🥹🥰💖. Also, Loren Allred had an amazing singing voice, and i really amazed it hehehe 🥹💖

They don't have a story like that at all :-) the author for the song said himself that Aerith wrote this song for everybody she loves not just cloud. AERITH and ZACK will have their happy ending being reunited in the end happily together forever in the lifestream :)
@justbekind85 i'm sorry?! I don't know why you comment in here, but I think you get the wrong idea here. It's seems you didn't read the article about the interview this actual about this song. Even the composer Nobuo Uematsu said that this song is a really love song about Cloud and Aerith. Even the author person who wrote the song seems to KNOW THE REAL MEANING of the relationship about them love story. 🤭💖
Besides, we didn't know that in part 3 that Zack and Aerith would be the lifestream forever, or perhaps they both would changes happy ending with someone else, for example Cloud with Aerith, meanwhile Zack with Tifa. 🙂↕️🙂↕️

When I hear the lyrics of the song, I can truly feel the feelings Aerith has for Cloud and thr destiny they both have together ❤ Thank you Nobuo-san and Loren Allred for such a fantastic song.
But some people think this feelings is Aerith for Zack. How funny they are !!!
The author of the song said that is actually her feelings for all of them, not only cloud but Tifa, Barret, Red, etc. I think with this explanation it's even more meaningful, she loves them all.
@@user-oy5xb1yo9fYeah but is mostly about Cloud and her because thanks to him she couldn't have met the others and also the compositor, the author and the singer admitted that is also a love song. So both sides are canon.
@@princesslovexxx well, the writer also said is about her mother, she didn't meet her mother because of Cloud. I'm just saying this because sometimes everything she does and feels is all about cloud and that's not it, Aerith is such a loving character with a huge heart and minimizing her feelings only about cloud it makes me sad. Anyways everyone is entitled to believe whatever they want.

We are not saying that other stuff in her life isn't as important. Have you seen the people who just called her Zack's girl? and how she cannot move on from him?
We ain't like that. Is just that people dismiss Aerith feelings for Cloud even tho it is an important part of her character and the story as a whole. This song now shows how much she wanted a normal life, to live with her friends and to be with the person she loved that is Cloud.

こんなに嗚咽するほど泣くなんて…ずっと心にひっかかっていたのだな…と我ながら驚くほどでした……
