True Ann did so many interviews while saying nothing. Sometimes I wonder why she even bothers. It’s like pulling teeth. I find her always looking medicated. I seen more recent interview and it’s the same. The only she said here was true that they did make fun of Elvis up to his death but then switched and praised him when he died.

I was born in 1946. I speak for mine & my mother's generation; we were all controlled by society and living like robots. THEN ALONG CAME ELVIS ....... and we were all set free, everyone was singing along in their cars, on the busses, in their houses, everywhere. We all started dancing, moving our hips and wherever there were teenagers we were all jiving.

But that isn’t what got him to his lowest. There was something going on in his body. He had controlled it as much as he could. But the stuff he had been doing wasn’t working.

I totally remember the day Elvis died. In fact I remember exactly what I was doing when I found out. I was just 6 years old and was playing with my Evel Knievel stunt motorcycle and ramp on the front room floor waiting for supper and then the 6 million dollar Man TV program to come on . A News Flash came on the TV and said Elvis had died . My Mom came from the kitchen and just stared at the TV . She and my stepdad ( who had a total Elvis hairstyle and big sideburns back then ) got really quiet. For days afterwards I remember them playing Elvis 8 tracks. Sometime not long after that my Stepdad cut his hair and sideburns.

It did not mean none of them didn't love him or he didn't love them. Elvis wasn't a saint...it would of come out later anyway...but it didn't mean the people that were his fans didn't love him. He was human and dealt with A LOT of stress.
It's a sad story...we miss him as fans and the ones that were close and really loved him I'm sure they did to. Elvis cared and loved them for a reason...and I'm sure they cared and loved him to.

He trusted them and they broke his heart . He didn’t need to be black , white , brown , tall short fat or even nice … he had enough (when you compare it to today’s standards even more) to make it to the top even if he had been a monster .. he didn’t have to be a nice person … he decided to be one.

yes, thru all the betrayals he remained kind.
Even when Red West called Elvis and recorded him, he remained kind, asking Red if he needed any financial help?
I swear, one could hear the man's broken heart!
Elvis dreaded the expected fallout fr that book.
The hitjob worked as the MM wanted.
To this day people disparage Elvis, having reduced him down to a fat has-been drug addict who died in the bathroom.
The haters enjoy hurting him that way.
EP was a sublime individual, generous to a fault. He literally gave those people their WORLD: car, house, guns, jewelry, travel the entire family enjoyed AND salary. Most are dead but still his ex-gfriends, cousins & their kids and the lying stepbrothers are spilling guts on Elvis & making a living off his life. I wish they'd just stop; get real jobs and let him have the privacy he so desperately desired!

I grew up in Lincolnshire, England, and our TV Service had just changed from Anglia TV to Yorkshire TV. The day after Elvis died a presenter of the regional news ( Calendar News ) called Richard Whitely was broadcasting live from the city of Leeds in the West Riding of Yorkshire. He was there, in the city centre asking what people thought about the death of Elvis Presley. One rather old-ish looking lady asked, in return, "who is Elvis Presley ?"
Never before nor since have I ever met or seen anyone - to my knowledge - who needs ask who Elvis Presley is / was.
I`m still in this part of the world - but across the River Humber in the East Riding.
I`m a Taxi - Driver. Even schoolchildren take it as given who Elvis is. Naturally they follow todays trends, but they still recognise the name, Elvis.

Took my German wife Petra to see his home in Memphis.
I've always wanted to write songs and poetry. I can/ could do that. But never have had anyone encourage me.
My brother Bill met him while stationed in California as a Marine. Bill could only talk good things about Elvis. He even got to swim with him and his family.

I was maybe 8 years old. I had gotten a radio when I was 11. I would search for that voice, especially on Saturday nights. I ended up listening to a radio station from Cincinnati, (I lived in New England) that would play a lot of his music. That’s when I found out that his name was Elvis.
The other song that he sang “The thrill of your love” well that sealed the deal I was a fan forever. To me there was something about the way he expressed himself through a song that was just magical, I had never heard anything like it. I enjoy many types of music but for me he is at the top.
