Many people asked for the lyrics, so here we go:
“Power is in inflicting pain and humiliation. Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing. Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress towards more pain. The old civilizations claimed that they were founded on love or justice. Ours is founded upon hatred. In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. Everything else we shall destroy, everything. Already we are breaking down the habits of thought which have survived from before the Revolution. We have cut the links between child and parent, and between man and man, and between man and woman. No one dares trust a wife or a child or a friend any longer. But in the future there will be no wives and no friends. Children will be taken from their mothers at birth, as one takes eggs from a hen. The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card. We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. When we are omnipotent we shall have no more need of science. There will be no distinction between beauty and ugliness. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always -- do not forget this, Winston -- always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.”
-O'Brien
George Orwell, "1984"
hair raising everytime I listen.
"...imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.”
I remembered this quote from the first time I read the book on, which was some 25 years or so ago...
Chills every time...
My favorite part
F O R E V E R
seriously
That quote from 1984 makes it pop. The track itself is amazing regardless, but adding the timeless words of Orwell there gives it a real edge, and the blade runner synth simply soars. 10/10
😊👋
Can't believe such a fitting quote for today's age was from that long ago.
@@externity9569 always has been.
A masterpiece. Incredibly powerful, thrilling, depressing and thought provoking at the same time. One of the best tributes to 1984.
Whoever is monologueing I want him to read the entirety of 1984 to me
:-)

Naturally. It's Richard Burton :)
His name was Frank Muller, and unfortunately he passed away in 2008.
here you go. ua-cam.com/video/qVoDX6ZWoUA/v-deo.html
Definitely one of the best synthwave songs. It is not just a song but rather a time machine.
😀 Thx!
Bro, this song is absolutely amazing. My favorite synthwave at the moment.
Thank you, glad to hear this!
It's mine favorie too
This was recommended to me by spotify’s algorithm. Excellent track. Great vibe, smooth, irresistible, and with the added 1984 dialogue, harrowing. The entire album is great.
Spotify suggested that piece of awesomeness to me in my Discover Weekly. Already squeezed the shit out of that on my car speakers. Amazing!
This is art ... I'm speechless
:-D Thanks a lot!!!
@@MentalMinorityMusic Thank YOU! Keep producing legendary tracks 💪
@@MentalMinorityMusic Being an amateur musician myself ( beginner in electro), i congratulate you for your awesome work on this track. It has been stuck in my head during the last few days, which is a sign of excellence. I use Fruity loops but it's pretty hard, and it's going to take me several years to do half as good of a music track as yours, for sure. Anyway, may i know which VST(s) you used to create Dystopia now ?? Thank you for your annswer, a french fan. Tchüss
Hey there, thanks for your kind words! Of course there´s a lot of stuff in use, but the main parts are played by Arminator, Synth 1 and WASP.
What I find heartbreaking about this track.. is that it's slowly becoming true.
I just came back here because of this line in the monologue: "The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card." As it turns out, Australian government just advised it's people that (married) couples should not have sex. They say the safest way to have sex is to masturbate at 2 meters distance. wearing a mask. Preferably via Zoom....
@@realityreport79 the insanity of the people in power is disturbing and the blind support of the dogmatic cult is even more terrifying.
Maybe.. maybe not.. we r good either way! could be worse.
@@PatrickSierak it could always be worse.... even Uyghurs in Chinese concentration camps could have it worse.. that doesn't mean the current situation is good... it's because of people who keep saying "it could be worse" that things do keep getting worse. At what point do you say enough is enough?
Lol you have a brain of a child
This song is just EPIC. It evokes much emotion and gives many messages. Timeless.
Thanks so much!
True bro
I love this song. Maybe it's just me, but the second half of the song evokes a strong feeling of hope - the idea that it's possible to break out of the despair of the opening monologue. But that monologue... chilling. Great work.
Great to hear, thanks a lot!
1984 itself actually contains hope in the Appendix, since it insinuates that at some point in the future, Big Brother was actually defeated.
The hope you speak of is the individual man's hope to protect himself and defeat his enemies.
This song is a miracle. Extremely exceptional. Whoever wrote this was under the influence of something otherworldly. I don't think you can plan a piece like this. It just occurs as a stroke of genius.
This is the best synth-wave music I have ever heard. Period. It's deep. And makes me think about the world. The universe. Life & Death.
As a someone who is fighting blood cancer stage 3...and someone who is single while being at the age of 35...plus having relatively few friends...looking back at my life i find...the music is beautiful. Powerful.
Words cannot fathom what I am feeling and going through. But all I can say is thank you for making something so meaningful and so beautiful.
Of course I cannot answer appropriately. And of course I could not leave this unanswered.
Best wishes to you.
Best Wishes to you Bro here from London , Much Love
Frequent intravenous vitamin c therapy. Hope you're ok. You should at least look into it. Not medical advice.
Hope you are hangin' in there. : - )
Hey Bro, you there? Hang on, you're stronger than that.
Well its 2023 and all of what he said is now reality! FIGHT THE MACHINE!
Again, another brilliant piece. When combined with Orwell it makes an extraordinary composition, my friend.
Can't stop listening to it. Definitively in the top 5 of my favorite songs ever.
Awesome, thank you so much!
With me is in top 10
Wow! This is one of the best synthwave songs I've ever heard.
I have to admit that I'm a little bit proud right now. Thx so much!
Sad, haunting, and beautiful all at the same time. Listening to this elicits anger in me at the thought that there really are people out there like O'Brein. The breadth of emotion this song creates is amazing. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
Thank you for listening & even more for letting me know about your thoughts! To strike some sparks inside the listener´s heart & mind, in the end that´s the whole reason why I create music.
Another amazing song!
With another amazing artwork! :-D
The monologue from 1984 is perfect for what is currently happening in the world.
It's always has been.
History repeats itself.
>currently
Sweet summer child
Definitely, although I still have hope in humanity. We need to turn our gaze back to nature and back away from insanely fast and stupid progress which would actually be our doom in the end. I have hope and also I am afraid humankind will remain blind to this.
I only have a family to care for, a faith to adhere to. I've almost lost hope for humanity (atleast for this century)
wow, this 1984 speech was well chosen, it fits completely. Great job
I love how bright and serene the music is and how it sharply contrasts with the message, making it hit harder. Like seing those beautiful, light-filled cyberpunk cities from above and knowing what is happening benath the surface. Perfect job, thank you for it.
Thanks for your words!😊
Featured your track in my "Liverpool Covidland" video as an intro - perfect fit - great track - hope you get many more listens and subs bro.

Absolutely brilliant work, great Track , great video!
Subbed over from Charlie’s channel. Great track.
we love you Charly 'Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.'
Heard this on Charlie’s vid quality track indeed
@@manf7732 totally agree. Where has he gone? Editing another great video I hope. And hopefully the taxi man hasn’t got him. Lol
This is how our future is looking
If you read my description of this track and think "What the hell is this guy talking about?!", just have a closer look at what is happening in the comment sections wherever it appears. Bitter irony.
This may as well be the themesong to the current political era.
where did you find the recording of this speech? or did you mix it yourself?
@@syrnobody1415 Hey there, just look the answer from Patrick K. to the comment from RandyDandyAndy just beleow, he posted a direct link!
lol hahahha thankful that you exist.
@@ChillFrost 😂 I like your sense of humor.
Make 1984 fiction again.
Nope not fiction at all
@@wildfire3986 there's some stuff Orwell didn't predict. He wrote about a society that secretly despises big brother, not predicting the eventual society that for the most part loves their big brother and pretends the oppression isn't happening while looking the other way at mass incarceration, the erosion of rights and etc. He didn't predict a cancel culture that would be heavily pro-censorship, pro-socialism, anti-Bill of Rights. He didn't predict a society that would be far more worried, paranoid even, that society and the government isn't watching them than the concern over the surveillance state.
Be the light that this dark world needs
The prediction is a slow burn. Everything leads to another, to the eventual end. These people are smart af. Resist
There’s a reason it’s not free to watch on any platform
"imagine a boot stamping on a human face... FOREVER"
Fohh evahhh
The concept of a dystopian future is starting to be more prevalent nowadays, and this song really captures that feel just right. Really nice work!
Thank you! The times we live in make it quite hard not to think about where all this could lead to and already has lead...
@@MentalMinorityMusic What's interesting is that all of them, except maybe Bradbury, misread how it would happen. The government didn't take our privacy from us. We happily handed it to them for the sake of convenience and entertainment.
@@smitty7326 True concerning the privacy thing - this fact perhaps is just too absurd, so that nobody could have imagined it before it actually happened. 🤔 But concerning the attacks on values like truth, human rights and dignity, the spreading authoritarianism and the overall revival of political ideologism - concerning these things I think Orwell's thoughts more and more become quite apposite again.
@@MentalMinorityMusic For sure, for sure. You're definitely right about that. The future is gonna get weird, and it's gonna get weird fast. Great song btw, it seems to connect with a lot of people.
@@smitty7326 ...which is totally surprising to me. When I produced this one, I thought nobody will want to hear a track starting with more than 2 minutes of narration as an intro. I decided not to care and just do it the way I wanted it to be - and now this turns out to be my most noticed track... 😂
This song always brings tears to my eyes. Fucking stunning work.
Criminally underrated song
I'm ashamed that this hasn't reached 1 million right now
Ha, this is really kind! :-D
MentalMinorityMusic your welcome this is a great song I'm happy you shared it :)
@@kaiiheenjik1668 lol my friend used your moniker as an alias in high school 90s lol
KarmicVibez gotta love the classics 👍🏾
This is one of my favorite songs ever. The way the music is put with the lyrics
Hearing the song and paying atention to the lyrics in 2022 creeps me out, great job!
The sweeping chords in this piece make my soul soar as they drag my heart into the abyss.
A masterpiece!
Brilliant lyrics. And prophetic; a perfect description of the world being created around us right now.
How incredibly chilling is it that the first lyrics of this synthwave show us exactly where we find ourselves now.. Powerful!
You have created a great piece of music, combined with thought provoking lyrics. I forgot how creepy and prophetic 1984 was until I heard the words spoken in this song. The Covid protocols and the Great Reset are Orwell's realizations, and they are all illustrated in this awesome track. It brings tears to my eyes. Well done MentalMinorityMusic!
i heard this and started tearing up.
this is our world now, few men are left.
Really enjoyed this song. Recognized 1984 straight away. Love how youved worked the beat, and the build up to "forever"
More of the same please :D
😁
Great message and melody as well. This track is really amazing. Bravo MentalMinorityMusic!
Thanks for your words!
I'm just waking up to this truth and all I can do is weep

Even more relevant today than in 2018.
This hits different in 2021...
Remember, kids, there are much worse things than extinction....
Dude! Thank you so much for the content you make for us. It's artists like you that pull me further into the underground world of synthwave. Much love
Glad to hear that, thanks!
You shall have nothing and be happy.
Or else
I seriously can't go a few days without hearing this song at least once. Not just for the beat or message, but the creative fuel it gives as I go about my day thinking of what I can write with just a paragraph or so of what he says in the monologue. And then music hits.
2021 its happening in full blast effect ...
Hi I'm starting writing again and this song - this FORCE - is the first thing going in my first playlist ever made for a work. Not sure it that means this one will make it beyond the fetal stages, but I'm awfully excited. Thank you for creating, and this in particular.
Shivers every single time ...this song is a god to me.
Welcome to 2021
Such a masterpiece! Gives me goosebumps whenever I listen to it. Hats off man 💯
This Song is truly amazing. Loving the synth and that intro gave me goosebumps. Found that track yesterday and it fits perfectly into these tough times....
A minority wants to create an Utopia, but for the majority it's a dystopia.
Thanks for sharing this masterpiece with us.
What a WWE/MMA/Boxing entrance this shit would be omg
Much awesomeness, found you through Odysseus' playlist. Great stuff!
Thank you!
I never like videos, out of principal. But this.. Man keep them coming
Glad to have changed your habit! :-D
What kind of dumbass "principle" is that
You made this? Sounds amazing mate, this is probably the most epic song I've heard in a while. ❤
Thank you very much!
Hearing this song now in this time and age is wow
I stumbled upon this song yesterday and I was blown away wooow what a masterpiece love love loved it!!!
Brilliant piece of work... Spot on for today...
This is how it relates....the world is becoming more hostile.
Politics is becoming more intense and divided. Misinformation campaign.
Friends and family split apart for job opportunity.
Dating is becoming more physical attraction, beauty, alpha status. More sex, less love. More dating strategy, more loneliness, more divorce. Less trust.
Careers more focused on competition. Winner take all. Capital Returns.
Inequality grows. Our political system is a system of oligarchs controlling the world, not just our country.
The elderly are forgotten and die alone.
Totally awesome, love your fantastic sound...brilliantly done..!!!
Thank you Betty!
You spread the words of one of the greatest minds who ever lived, to the greatest minds whom will ever live, to which you have my eternal gratitude.
Amazing synth too.. just wow
Orwell... If you haven't read his works, you should.
Hi, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy this musical piece!
I've been listening to this music for two years now, in the office or in the car, and it still has the same effect on me: a desire to continue, without emotions or purpose, and to have understood I don't know what. Beyond the speech of 1984, which is iconic, the music is amazing.
Very nice work!
I have listened to this at least 200 times over the years
Less than me
the drop, jesus christ
Thanks James.
Epic book (1984) and epic music!
Thank you! 😄
Beautiful..
Sonority full of hope ..
This is seriously good stuff. Makes me wish I had found it years ago.
Wow..what a great tune..👍👍
It sounds like Richard Burton. Pretty sure it is him. I am very fortunate to have worked with his (final) wife, Sally Burton. She invited me to her house and she showed me a lot of memorabilia from Richards life. Amazing actor.
Great track great message. Charlie V bought me here.
Fantastic track!!!
Awesome blend of the speech/music!
Great song, beautiful use of Orwells Words
Orwell was a prophet. He saw the future and tried to warn us.
Yes, but you can never kill an idea whose time has come!
All of this is happening right now😢...
Goose bumps.

In Italy we are living in a dystopia, now.
Same in America 😞
Holy sweet baby jesus!!! This song hit me hard right from the get go!! Bravo sir, bravo....
:-D!
One of the greatest tunes I've listened to. Though I was waiting for a bit more harder drop and a little more "epicness", but it's just a personal feeling. Keep going on such good work!
I love this. Just awesome.
Thx a lot!!
I found this in a synthwave playlist here in UA-cam and now its got me checking out your bandcamp and yt channel. I love this one particularly since it struck me inside.... I had just made a track with a similar theme weeks ago. Love this! You're an inspiration :)
Chills! Chills all over. Amazing music + Richard Burton. Great work.
Thank you so much! It's not Burton, I worked with a reading instead of the movie - too much sound & music in the background.
Really? Wow sounds just like him :)
