      Thanks a lot buddy, I really appreciate your kind words. I too was looking for a video showing how to change the sequential spring in the Fanatec SQ 1.5 shifter but I couldn't find anything. The closest that I found was a video of a guy replacing his broken spring with rubber bands. That's actually what prompted me to make this video. I just figured that there are tons of people with these shifters, and at some point they may need this information .

    Hey man, this timing is amazing. My spring broke this morning 😅
    Also, are you a Trini?

    • @ProSimRacing

      Trini 2 D bone 🇹🇹
      My spring broke a few weeks ago when I was testing a car for a new season on Sim Racing System.
      I figured that I might as well make a video about the repair process considering that there are tons of Fanatec SQ 1.5 shifters out there in the Sim Racing community.

      @@ProSimRacing Very helpful man, it's much appreciated.
      I just sent a support request to Fanatec to see if I can get mine sorted out.
      It's so nice to see another Trinidadian in sim-racing. I just assumed there were no others out there. I usually race the Audi from Kamel GT in iRacing, so I'm glad the H-pattern mode still works even with the broken spring!

      @@JamieHamelSmith Thanks buddy, I've had my Fanatec shifter for around six and a half years now, so it wasn't really a surprise when the spring broke, especially considering that I use it quite often. It has definitely served me well. How long have you had yours?

    • @JamieHamelSmith
      @JamieHamelSmith 2 роки тому

      @@ProSimRacing 3 years. But I use it very often.

      Cool, if you're still going through the the process with Fanatec’s customer service, I would recommend that you tell them that you would like to get 2 springs so you can have one as a spare, that's what I did.
      I don't know what Fanatec calls this part... but you may also want to ask for a new replacement foam that pushes on the metal ball that adjust the strength of the H-pattern shifter. I'll have to email Fanatec to find out the proper name for that part.

    Hello Pro Sim Racing. Can you tell me how I can order a couple of these springs? I do not see them on the Fanatec site?

    • @ProSimRacing
      @ProSimRacing  5 місяців тому

      You are correct, Fanatec does not offer the springs for purchase on their website. You will have to contact their support team to purchase the springs.
      I would also advise that you purchase the little rubber piece for the metal ball on the H-pattern shifter as well. Check out this video for more details: ua-cam.com/video/kpp9l5gwgDA/v-deo.htmlsi=pSjz2X46VIhZw1RE

      You're welcome buddy, I'm happy the video was helpful. And yes, you have to get it from Fanatec. You will have to contact Fanatec Support, but watch my update video before you contact them, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/kpp9l5gwgDA/v-deo.html

    It is like pulling teeth to get these replacement springs from Fanatec. I have three of these shifters and everyone one of them has broken at least once some twice and I have replaced the guts in one of them. I asked Fanatec for 6 springs and they will only sell me one at a time. $5 for the spring and $10 for shipping. I refuse to pay $15 for one POS #FANATEC SPRING. I have been at this for 2 months with no help from Fanatec customer service, they wait over one week to respond to emails and it is total BS. I have spent over $7000 with Fanatec since 2009. I consider myself a worthy customer to Fanatec. It may be time to move on another sim racing hardware manufacture. I would however pay $30 for 6 springs and $12 shipping. I am contemplating switching over to the Simagic Shifter.

      Sorry buddy, I only just saw your comment. I feel your pain, it's an extremely frustrating situation to be in, especially since Fanatec doesn't simply offer the springs for sale on their website. Did you make it clear that you own three shifters, all with broken springs? And that you'll need a minimum of three springs to repair your shifters? I really hope that you at least get enough springs to repair your three shifters.

      ive heard of the simagic also having reliability problems so it worth looking into it first. my friend had to refund his after still it still not working right after rmaing it twice and even geting a replacement. also heard of vnm shifters mishitting honstly the other 1k+ shifters they all have reliability and mishift problems. id say the th8a has the best track record but even that can get reliability and mishift problems.

      I still consider the Fanatec shifter to be one of the best out there when it comes to affordability, longevity, and serviceability. It's pretty well made and easy to maintain. A broken sequential spring every now and then is expected, remember that you're constantly bending a piece of metal over and over, probably thousands of times, so it will eventually snap. The main thing for me is that it's easily repairable.

    Is fanatec the only place where you can get the spring and do they sell it seperately

    • @ProSimRacing
      @ProSimRacing  Рік тому

      Sorry for the late reply buddy, I only just saw your message. Fanatec is the only place that I know of for purchasing replacement springs, and they do sell it separately.
