Yeah it’s basically an extra lucky space for him. AND if someone else lands on one when Bowser is playing, his figurine gets lifted up before the rest plays out.

MP8 nerfed the hell out of Bowser Spaces. They are now board exclusive ones and some of them are bad that can take a Star from you and others are just patheic like the one on Goomba's board where you simply have to dodge fire to keep your coins. There is no more Bowser Revolution, Bowser Minigames, etc. in that game
The space is my favorite in Mario Party 4. The tension of not knowing if you're either going to get the coin stealing Koopa Kid or King Bowser himself with more potential and game changing events (there is also a risk even Koopa Kid will call for Bowser after stealing coins). I love how each Bowser minigame takes place in this gloomy thunderous environment on a single platform which reminds me a lot of the Bowser battle stages from SM64. Bowser in this particular minigame (Balloon of Doom) will always says something right after each player has ground pounded the pump and given certain amount of air for the balloon. If you don't do a ground pound before the time runs out Bowser will say "You dare disobey me!?!" and proceeds to burn the player immediately, making them automatically lose the minigame. I really wish they brought back or made more unique games like these.

Bowser got karma after 26 years of stealing coins, stars, giving people Ztars, Bowser’s Chance Time (even though that was only in the first 2 Mario Parties) and for stealing stars in 10 after a player opens the last lock.
In Mario Party 9, so what if in Bowser Time on a Bowser Space, what if there was an extra option space, is "Get Send into a Previous Game", if it stops on "Get Send into a Previous Game", where Bowser tells you that you will be send into a previous game, then you as Mario, other players or you as the player realized that you will being send into a selected released previous game that is Namco arcade or Nintendo Mario relative for all eternity and for the rest of your life. then Bowser said "BWA HA HA HA! That should shaken things up a bit. Have fun on your trip through memory lane for your previous game fools.". then the Bowser platform disappeared and you as Mario or any players fell down to a portal that lead to another game that leads to "Namco Museum 50th Anniversary", "Namco Museum 2001", or "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" instead back to the board game on the map., then you fell down and bumped into the floor or ground in Namco Museum 50th Anniversary or New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
This maybe just be my autism but did anyone else get absolutely terrified when Bowser showed up, preferably his symbol/logo it was always be shoved in your face and so intimidating, I used to have nightmares of being stuck in that state like in clockwork orange
