    Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
    With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

    • @earlhollar1906
      @earlhollar1906 4 роки тому

      For the extra weight Jet is pretty durable. We got some leased land with some pretty tight approaches, hanging quite a bit of rubber on the rear duals of the trailer in the air with no damage to the hoppers or the fifth wheel.

The slide tracks for the doors need cleaning and lube every now and then but other then that it’s a great trailer. When i worked for my local Co-op I always pulled Timpte trailers and I had no complaints about them. I worked in agronomy and drove truck for our elevators during the off season, the full time grain haulers all pulled Wilson trailers and i didn't hear anybody complain about them, but they have a plate above the ICC bar that has "Wilson Pacesetter" laser cut out of that, and we had that replaced with our company name, so we got a little extra advertising out of them. The Timpte I pulled was rented from a customer, so it had the smaller hoppers in it for getting in and out of fields, so I ran into issues there, especially in the winter and we had permits for 88,000 gross weight. Long story even longer, trailers are dirt nasty simple and hard to mess up, I would go with the newest trailer at whatever your budget is in the hopper/length combination that you need. No matter what brand of trailer you buy Meritor or Hendrickson are the ones that probably made the suspension and brake systems, and as long as you don't run into anything that is about all that can go wrong in a trailer, other than typical electrical problems which are pretty basic in trailers.

      Marlin Brubacher I gotta second that. W9’s are the ideal truck for someone else to own and drive. I always loved them till I got in one with that junk Cummins crap and between it being a complete pos engine the truck rode like hell and overall was just way overrated. Nowhere near the level of say a 379, a flat top classic, or hell even a t600

    Can’t go wrong with Timpte or Wilson. I’ve used both and never had any problems. Would recommend getting a tag axle, not sure what limits are in Minnesota but adding one more axle pays for itself pretty quick if you’re hauling long distance. Helps keep the resale value as well.

      Also the rack & pinion gears on the Timpte are bigger heavier than the Wilson or Corn Huskers. I have had to replace them on the last two. I also think Timpte's handle rough terrain with out structural cracks better than the Wilson.

    We just got a Wilson in 2018 it was a year old and it's super nice. It's got electric traps and tarp that work off a remote which is really nice to keep the driver away from the dust. They also have the extra tail lights up top which add to the safety factor when they are parked on the side of the road late at night during harvest. It was our first air ride trailer too which is sweet although pretty well everyone offers that. Wilson also has several lighting packages for the sides. Looks pretty slick too.

      @@MillennialFarmer does that diecast come with or without the Flasher lens? LOL, I used to overhaul the engines on them, when I was a Youngster. Does that model have a 6 cylinder with individual heads for every two cylinders? I often wondered if that was to make it easier on the mechanic, or less chance of a larger head warping.

    Hey Zach we just recently purchased a new EBY grain trailer. Hoppers are very nice with large rollers and can grease each one individually. We got a 34ft 96/72. Easy to get in and out of fields and can easily load 1100 bushel corn and 1000 beans. Also does not have straps down the middle instead has a pole in the tarp to eliminate having to always hit the middle of trailer.

    I used to use WD-40 in 55 gallon drums, we wiped down the rotor blades on our helicopters down in New Iberia, La. On a new product I bought a can of WD-40 "Specialist" Protective White Lithium Grease. Sticks to stuff real well, like bike chains and such... Pretty good stuff.
