Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Ever wonder how much time Zach wastes just setting up the camera to show us his day to day life? We thank you!
No, its not wasted. It's for me. And its free. There, three perfectly coherent replies to your nice comment.
There are days I want to throw the camera in the woods!!!
@@billsmith8238 lol me too brother 🍻
@@MillennialFarmer Your editor is very graceful though, never having the fits are you lol
It's all part of the artistic effort. UA-cam videos do not make themselves.
That’s about the same point everyone realizes that they needed safety glasses. After they get something in there eye
Aye
And like most of us upon getting object removed from your eye, promptly continue the task without getting any glasses 🤣👍
I've just made a habit out of it. My industry is very concerned about safety. I mean we develop stuff that holds the weight of those combines on a 5" diameter so I guess a little precaution is warranted...
kiwidiesel and in two weeks go back and the eye doctor goes u again, u know the drill lmao
@@mesh1248 🤣🤣🤣👍😎
I’m an old 69 farm kid and with my 85 year old neighbor we watched and dearly enjoyed your videos.
James Morse - thought it read - nearly enjoyed.
Wears my glasses 👓
There is just a point in a project where you gotta stand back, look at the calamity of what you have done, and in the most sarcastic voice possible, say: "Well, THERE'S your problem!"
NaterVater none - Lol, yep done that often.
Looks sketchy to me, we'd never do anything like that...😁
Nope leg arms would have just punched a hole in the bin 😳
@@wanderingtexan854 With the torch? One of his many favorite tools. 👍👍
Welker Farm, not with your 2 shiny new bins I’d hope 😅
Welker Farms would just point the cannon at it and park the truck under it.
@@wanderingtexan854 I agree
It's awesome you get to work with your dad so close. It may be work and your job, but savor that stuff. Can't ever replay those years.
Thanks for the video. Just remember the guys in the middle of the country that got hit with the storm and lost a lot of grain bins and corn plus soybeans. Hope you guys have a great afternoon
Absolutely. Tough deal. I'm heading down there on Monday...
Prayers to Cole the cornstar and the surrounding community of farmers around him!
I hate working with sheet metal. I remember getting a bad cut with sheet metal. All in a day's work. Why are the dads of the world the hard workers? Your dad is the best. Take good care of him and enjoy your time with him. You will cherish it one day. Lucky for you, you have all these videos.
Yesss a New episode of the actor who plays the Millennial Farmer
Farmers and Engineers
Sometimes it is not easy to see the difference between the professions.
There's always something...
Lol agreed however if you were on our farm you wouldn’t have much problem telling the difference.
My dad is an engineer and a farmer😂
Nate is definitely my favorite. Gotta respect the older generation farmers.
Your dad is awesome, amazing you get to work with him everyday. Thanks for the amazing videos as always
I agree, he is a true 'gentleman' farmer who respects his son's opinion !!
With all of those new May Wes parts available..... I need to buy a combine!
Hey brother Zach that was a beautiful job with the conveyor to the grain bin! 100 💯 years ago your grand father and his father probably had similar problems and handled it in a less technical way.😎
So true !!
Cool to see all the different things they have come up to make for farming equipment
You sure know what colour of things to buy. Green equipment yellow tools👍👍
30 year truck driver here with some advice. Dont push clutch to floor when starting trucks. Just make sure its in neutral and no need for clutch at all.
When you push in clutch to floor, you are pressing against clutch brake. You are actually putting more resistance against the starter. You always have low batteries, this might help when your battery is at that “fine line”.
Im addicted to your channel. Love your farm!!!
Thanks!
No I’ll hold camera you do the work! Love you Mr Johnson!!!!
New products are awesome!!
That was entertaining and fun to watch dad help problem solve.
Hey Zach my name is Ryan and I come from Australia and just wanted to say it is a tuff time in the world at this day and age and I wanted to say you make my day 100% better. We are on home school and it is great because I live on a farm and finish my work super early then I get to go still on/in our tractors and make some money. So again thank you so much and hope you continue to make you videos because it makes Avery ones day better. Thanks millennial farms .
Absolutely agree....world has gone mad at moment!!! we are in uk and are just in middle of harvest and its pouring with rain!!! o the joys.....take care and stay safe

patrick k there’s plenty of maize grown for cow feed...mostly established under plastic.....no soya!!!
Where in the world are you?
patrick k wow our little UA-cam Chanel is being viewed in the us!, Thankyou..
Wheat and barley main crops here in the north of country....rape and beans as a break crop.
Cool seeing the products!
You know Zach is a true farmer when he has to improvise on ways to fix his grain bins. Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see what the future brings you In your family and in this harvest season.
I echo that last comment !! Thanks Zach for giving us such a great product 😊 !!
Becky does a great job of editing , and deserves more recognition, and screen time.
I TOTALLY agree !! Becky you are the BEST !!
Zach: guess I should be wearing safety glasses
Dad: Hmmmm
😂😂😂😂
You dad does a great job on the camera
When I worked on farms I loved the ag equipment salesmen. Firstly it was a payed break because the manager asked us to join in.
Second they're always very friendly and willing to answer questions even if you're not the one paying or deciding. Just good friendly people. Even if I met them outside of work.
I really appreciate your videos I'm 14 years old and you help me understand how to farm and how machines work.
Great vid👍great to see new products from May Wes thanks👍
Love the farming videos I enjoy watching them and your humor in your videos I love farming and every summer my dad and I go out to Kansas and harvest wheat in some 9770s and it’s just cool to see what equipment you run and how it compares to the ones I have run!! Thank you!!
Awesome Video and Much Love from Kentucky!!!
I don’t know who I’ve watch more the Welkers and Zach and his awesome family or Live Patrol on here
Thanks Zach! Poor ol Eric...I gotta meet him at a show sometime..that guy has patience 😄😄
Yes the new millennial farmer video I’m so glad I started watching you I’m just always searching you to see if you made a new video best UA-camR ever
Every man ever - *gets something in eye* “man I should be using safety glasses”... *continues to work without them*
Remember safety 3rd
😂😂
Subs to the hoof GP used to yell at him all the time for not wearing safety glasses. After putting on glasses occasionally he moved up to a full face shield.
Should be wearing a suit of armor and a welding helmet!
Lol
My brother Zach I've been with ya since the beginning. I just wanted to tell you how much I've learned and appreciate you and your wonderful family. Your friend the Nebraskan Assassin!
How nice, Zach !!
Great job on having a fire extinguisher nearby, but like you said, “should have worn safety glasses”. Thank you for sharing.
I'm in the MSP area and watch when I can - love to support local people (I consider all of MN "local" to me)! That said, I hope all of you are safe after the storms rolled through today. Confirmed tornadoes in multiple locations throughout the state.
You gotta do what you gotta do. There is alot of crazy stuff that needs to be done to be able to accomplish things.
Thanks for showing all stuff may wes is got cool
Wow ,zack you r a very good person ,thanks for the best..
I had the same trouble with my corn silos. i used a road compressor and a long lance through the sample hole ,which knocked it down to the auger ,worked a treat
Your show is very interesting.
Not a farmer but understand what u go thru.
“Why don’t I hold the camera.” Good Dad.
Awesome video always enjoy watching your video have a great weekend
Sounds like they have some pretty cool stuff
Gets metal shard in eye "should be wearing safety glasses"
Carries on cutting.
It's the thought that counts. :)
🙄
@patrick k done thanks, should be doing spelling classes.
looks like cool products and its made well ,, this guy listen's to the user and makes the products the manufacturer not interested in tooling for ,,liked his demo made a lot of sense
That May West salesman is EXCELLENT! I don’t own a combine, but would buy a set of skid shoes just for fun!
I agree - didn't understand the application for all the 'bits' but a pleasure to listen to someone articulate, confident and obviously right across his product. Someone like that is real valuable if he is your supplier.
I love farmers' dedication to never cleaning anything too much
Awesome content zach, good idea with the grain ben, P. S your dad's a beast, good guy, thanks for sharing zach, good friday entertainment. 🚜
Very nice video, thank you.
You’ve got the coolest dad! 💯👊🏾👊🏾
"I should be wearing safety glasses"
Immediately followed by what I call an OSHA approved safety lean, were you lean back ever so slightly from the danger. Solid work
Very nice. Good stuff
That darn penguin again! It’s been a while since we seen him 😂😂😂
6:58 - After the chrome shop I was going to say get the inside Teflon coated but you could have a May Wes put in a tube liner instead. It should work great!
My Father had the perfect quip for situations like that, "Well, hell shit."
Great video Zach
We just bought may Wes stubble stompers for our 24 row corn head
Been there. Done that. Our slide broke so we cut a hole in the same place as yours and put in a tube to draw out with a grain vac. At least you got to see that your next project was straightening flightings.
Lol your dad went Millennial on you in the beginning..... And you definitely have the Hipster farmer look down.lol 😁😉
When I was an EMT we used soapy water and spray bottles to lube sawsall blades when cutting sheet metal
Love that thumbnail
Pimp my header/combine😂😂😂 love it 💖💖
Hey Millenial Farmer
I am a Farmers son from germany (so excuse my little mistakes). I just wanted to say that I really enjoy watchig your Videos! I really like your Sense of humor.
Keep on making Videos!
Greetings from Hessen Germany
I love your vids man keep up the good work and stay safe and strong and the same for the rest of your family to.🙂😉
I’ve watched this video at least 5 times because I find something satisfying about your conveyor. Don’t know what it is.
Yes-new podcast!!!
I'm glad you said it yourself about the safety glasses.
Eric is so adorable! I would buy anything he would offer me. I do not own a combine but,,,, I NEEEED IIIITTTT!!!
Zach minimizer is also made in Minnesota in the town of blooming prairie
Yeah don’t stop and go get them safety glasses you know👍👌👓
Thank you for creating content without sentence enhancers (potty words). So many creators seem to think that it’s the only way to go but I truly appreciate straight up clean content. That being said I cuss like a drunken sailor most days and struggle to string a sentence together without foul language but I do enjoy a nice wholesome video.
AMEN, my friend !! Let's keep it clean and wholesome !! There are so many words in the dictionary to choose from !!
"I should be wearing safety glasses".....you can always eat with false teeth; but you can't see with a glass eye.
Yep
For sure! About 15 years ago I was cutting some pipe and a piece of metal got in my eye and I scratched it. I was lucky only a day with a eye patch. However that was enough to scare me. I always were glasses now.
Hearing damage is accumulating. Every time you are exposed to loud noise it does permanent damage. When you are 5 that saw would seem very loud. At 60 you can barely hear it.
Getting focused on the job, we all neglect safety from time to time. Just glad his eyes were OK in the end. Rather than criticize, we should all learn from this to be more safety conscious in the future.
There's nothing more precious than your VISION !! Please protect your eyes !!
We just tore down 2 10,000 bushel silos with all elevators and controls sold them to farm. May have some more if anybody wants them. They have fans moisture sensors, and well cared for. An organization used them for wheat storage. Have 9 sites left they no longer use.
Tip: if you ever have to turn your sawzall upside down just flip the blade instead it works the same you just get to hold it normally
Colten Whitehead - say Wut ? 😱
Tree Climber it works
Colten Whitehead - I’d Never thought about that 🤔 thanks !!
Tree Climber your welcome but I don’t really know if it works for all brands but most of the main brands it has worked for
We have had the same problem. We cut a hole as well and shoved a tube in the bin to the center. Then we put the same unload auger in that tube to drawal down the grain evenly, since the bin was full.
that was my concern also. removing all the grain from one side could cause the bin to tip over backwards.
Damn brother, I ain’t no safety guru but you only got 2 eyes to watch those precious kids grow up! Wear some eye protection, ITS EASY-DO IT!!! NOW!!!
I know it's gotta be a pain, but thanks, Zack for sharing your videos 'cause of all the girations you have to go through to give us your report !!
Sorry if I misspelled your name. Phonetically it should be with 'K' but on looking back I see it's with "ch". Oh, well.... !!
Great video loved it thank you for sharing and your time was really great I learned a lot and want to get some my self thank Eric at ma west.
Zach you need to turn that first 22 that you bolted to the gate on the bin door then the pipe would’ve made it, where is Randy the master pipelayer when you need him, great video keep up the good, work stay safe
Be Careful out there. 👍☕️🍀
I hope nick welker comes to visit during your harvest season this year 🤞🏼
7:22 He's putting rubber on his pipe to prevent a mess.
A Trojan rubber?
Hoping he’s more consistent, than with those unseen safety glasses 🥽
That's what she said. Haha!
Love it. Thank you. 🇺🇲
We've had to cut ours before. We had to unload out of several of our doors this year. We will be making sump guards this year before fill this fall
Guy’s take care and use eye and hearing protection! Another enjoyable episode....
I'm just glad I'm not the only one that has these problems. Where is the video of you rigging up a sweep to get down to the problem spot? Keep up the videos I enjoy them.
I love that off the husk opening music
PPE Zach! And making your Dad do all the work!
Great video!
Sump Saver is worth the money. Look into it. We use to have a lot of problems when we put corn in the Harvestore. With the sump saver you can turn it on and it breaks up the chunks
I have never had a problem in summer....just frozen chunks in winter. My brother created an adapter for a aeration fan that clamps onto the take out auger opening. Diesel heater into the fan and in 4 min the auger and chunks are melted. We also have a (cheese grader) pyramid on the center gear box...no issues now. The weight of the corn above pushes corn chunks through the cheese grader...
Really enjoyed the video i like when stuff is explaind on diff items n implimets basicaly every especially your planting videos you help me tremendously wit my research to get my own operatio. Going i grew up farmin n love it. Also great job editing i think the intro shoul be a little longer kinda like tv show, just a thaught keep up the good job on the podcast to there shoul be bloopers. At the end
Our metal clean out door had a hole in it and we were trying to finish before a nasty storm. Luckily one of our techs suggested we cut up a 5 gal bucket to fit over the bottom to get us by. We used the old metal door to hold it in place. It worked until we were able to get our replacement.
Safety glasses are a must!
Loved the glove gag 😂😂😂😂
Nice improv with that feeder pipe.
Love your videos Zach
