    👩🏻‍🦰 A B O U T M E:
Ashley has had a passion for plants since she was a small child. In the long summers as a child, she would garden alongside her grandmother and it was then that she realized her love for greenery. With years of great studying, Ashley had begun her post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan.
At first, her second love, animals, was the career path she chose but while doing her undergrad she realized that her education would take her elsewhere. And with that, four years later she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor’s degree in science and a major in Soil Science.
Some of Ashley’s interests are UA-cam, in which she posts informative videos about plants and gardening. The focus of Ashley’s UA-cam channel is to bring science to gardening in a way that is informative but also helpful to others learning to garden. She also talks about the importance of having your own garden and the joys of gardening indoors. Ashley continues to study plants in her free time and hopes to expand her UA-cam channel as well as her reach to up-and-coming gardeners.

One of the things I love about gardening is it's simplicity. Nobody can hack your garden, no matter how determined they are. If the entire internet shut down tomorrow (and I'm still on the fence about whether that would really be a bad thing or not, lol) our gardens wouldn't even notice.

Ahhhh! I'm so glad you got back into your UA-cam account! I am not a cybersecurity expert but I am a computer nerd. I never click links or open files in emails, unless the file is something I'm specifically expecting from somebody. I also have been using Macs since the mid-90s and even though they are more secure, they definitely aren't invincible. I am really shocked that your Chrome saved passwords were able to be accessed by the hacker. Macs have their own saved password system called iCloud Keychain and I'm not aware of any incident where hackers were able to steal those passwords because they are all encrypted. Honestly, I think you would be in a much safer place if you used a Mac for all your UA-cam Account and business/banking stuff and your PC for everything else (the exact opposite of what you plan to do). You could still do all your video editing on your PC, you'd just need to use the Mac to upload the video

Clicking the recovery link gives YT a timestamp and likely starts the ball rolling on them setting aside hot backups from their system before they roll over into colder storage or get garbage collected. Reconstructing from older daily/weekly would be more of a pain and likely why it takes longer sometimes for other YTers that don't hit the automated system.

I live in the U.P. of Michigan. Most of our night are still in the 40 degrees F. I am harden off plants. How cold is too cold for sunflowers. I bring in everything except cold season crops at anything below 44. At what temp can I really leave them out. I know I can't plant till the soil temp is up. I heard I need a week above 50 for the soil to warm up. Is there a difference between air temperature and soil temperature on the effect it can have on growth and production?

As a reasonably new plant person, I am not super helpful, but a bird question and I am all over it. Okay, so my best advice for keeping song birds out, besides becoming a falconer and hunting them, is to get some of that holographic ribbon and tying it at the edge branches of berry bushes and trees. For an in bed situation you will need to put flappy bits of the ribbon onto stakes or anything that makes sure they have movement. Movement is key, and the holographic colours look like fire to birds. They do not want to land in fire! Another in bed trick, that I have not had to test but has a sound theory, is to weave fishing line back and forth between stakes just above the food source. Not so dense to trap them, but enough so when they land they touch it. They can't see it well, but it touches them and spooks them. For legal reasons, you definitely do not want to trap them, just spook them. Hopefully this has been helpful 🙂
